Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White’s lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

Yes, the first 5 episodes are a little "slow" but that's the setting: New Mexico, Breaking Bad feel. Absolutely love this show. It again demonstrates what an individual is capable of being pushed to in certain circumstances.

I’m a really big Breaking Bad fan and I was really exited to hear they were brining a spin off. However with Better call Saul, I kid you not. NOTHING HAPPENS. I was bored out of my mind the entire time. It really shows to, it began with a 10 million viewer premier! But it ended with barely 2 million. I will not be watching Season 2.

When I found out that there was a show being made from the same people that made Breaking Bad, I was instantly on board. The way Better Call Saul is directed and the feel of the show make it a pleasure to watch. The best show to go to after watching Breaking Bad. I would love to see a second season of Better Call Saul! Overall, Better call Saul left me feeling that I have fallen for a scam. Don't get me wrong I loved the acting, and there were some great episodes end-to-end. This was offset, however by painstaking long shots, which seemed like the writers wanted to tell us more, then figured out that they did not have enough space in this episode, nor the next, so settled for "character development".

What killed an otherwise reasonable start to a series however, was the season finale. Not only is the transition of Jimmy to Saul both confusingly abrupt and, under the circumstances of the setting completely unbelievable, it ignores multiple alternatives which could have further broadened the character.

Vince Gilligan is a genius writer. He wrote some of the best episodes on the X-Files and even went on to further his career with the outstanding series Breaking Bad. It came as no surprise when he decided to release a spin off series titled, Better Call Saul.

Set 6 years before the events of Breaking Bad, the show tells the story of Jimmy McGill, small time lawyer trying to make an honest living but with forces beyon his control, always seems to land back at square one.

Each episode is spontaneous and unpredictable. And yet it all brilliantly seems to flow together. This is what i have come to expect from Gilligan. A truly great show that I highly recommend! Two thumbs up!!!
