Not only the greatest spider man show to date, but one of the top five action cartoons ever made. The animation is wonderful, and it made me forget all about the art style that initially turned me off. The show never feels boring for a moment. The first season takes you through fresh twists on such spider-man stories as the Big Man and the Sinister Six, as well as delivering the most convincing models of Spidey, Venom, ETC, that I've yet seen on television. They also found the perfect voice for Spidey; one that is humorous, yet reveals an advanced level of maturity underneath the humor at the same time. The story is also very solid and manages to be complicated enough to be interesting, yet not so complicated as to confuse veiwers. They not only involve you in the heroes lives, but in the villains lives as well, making you sympathetic for almost all of them. When Spidey dukes it out with a bad guy, it's like watching two old friends fight. I also enjoy the way that the characters are different, but the foremost things we love about them are usually kept intact. Tombstone may be nothing like his comic counterpart, but I think that that was a smart move, seeing as how much cooler he is in this show. The show got even better in its second season, which is not yet available, for some reason.
