I enjoy watching classic shows and this was a favorite growing up. As an adult now I can see most of this series is based off of several complications of different telivision shows from the 1950's (cough Twilight series) and a collection of hauge pauge scifi shows from 1950's up to the early 2000's. While it's unique in it self it's obvious it's plagorized off of several different sifi shows thorugh out the era. I watch a lot of tv and see through it. 13 years of air time is a long time for a cartoon. I'm glad they got a license to finish it more throughouly. Even though several of the last seaons episodes are unwatchable.

I have been watching Futurama since the early days, and I feel like the series started going downhill from season 7 to the end. The writing changed for the worse. The first four seasons, however, are brilliant.

Futurama is one of the most iconic shows in television history. The acting is great, and we see some good references and jokes in it. The characters are hilarious, Farnsworth, Fry and Bender in particular. And the concept is astounding. The creator is Matt Groening, whom made "The Simpsons", probably topping everyone's list for numerous reasons. However, iTunes got this wrong. They separated the 7 seasons into ten separate volumes, each being somewhat out of order or having one episode that was horrible. Besides that, you get a hard steal on this. $10 for 16 episodes at the most. Although being cheap means it is bad, in this case it is good. Overall, this show is a booming 4/5. Minus one half because of marketing mistakes, and minus one other half because there are more than many sexual moments in the show. 👌

I am a bit tired of a lot of shows that we can wach in HD on TV but can only buy the SD, Futurama the first 4 seasons are sadly typical of this nonsense. Upgrade these to HD.

If you're not watching Futurama, well, you should be. It's a hysterical sci-fi cartoon that actually has plot and NOT just overused puns to keep you entertained. It will always keep your interest whether it makes you laugh out loud with the Planet Express crew or even cry on occasional episodes.

I'm glad they are discounting seasons of Futurama for this week. I need to hurry up and buy all of them before time runs out. Also, Futurama has kind of lost their touch after Season 8. I still bought episodes from Season 9 but it just isn't funny anymore. Anyway iTunes thanks for the discounted seasons.

Don't get me wrong, I really like Futurama, but this season wasn't really good. The only good episodes were Space Pilot 3000, The Series Has Landed, and Love Labours Lost in Space. That means that 2/3 of the season were mediocre. I love Futurama, but there are much better seasons.

I love futurama and am thrilled with the release on iTunes. But the picture quality as seen on the iPad is poor with jagged edges noted on all the characters as the move. Not sure why this is the case. Look at the preview before buying, that is what your video will look like on the iPad.

ITunes needs way more episodes like the ones airing on comedy central. These episodes are great, but more should be added. Season's 3 and 5 are funiest. Why does itunes not have the funnies seasons?

I've just become a fan of the show. Apple should contract Fox or Comedy Central to run seasons 2 through 4 on I-Tunes.

To People SAying That This Is Not Full Season You Are Wrong It Is. The DVD Box Set has the first 4 episodes of Season 2 get your facts right next time.

i love this show so much and its finally on itunes. YES!!

This show is brilliant in it's strange creative sci-fi logic, it's inventive plots, it's surprisingly touching characters (you don't expect it from a zany space comedy but it is often touching) and of course from it's fantastically hysterical comedy. Why oh why was it cancelled? We may never know.

I agree with the majority... Futurama is one of - if not THE - best comedy show ever created. It is certainly the best sci-fi show and easily one of the best comedy shows I've ever watched. I still watch the DVDs I have and I would gladly purchase them all again in iTunes format just to show my support for bringing the rest of the seasons to the store.

But like some other iTunes "seasons" Futurama, Season 1 is NOT a complete season - almost a third of the episodes are missing from the ensemble. There are 13 episodes in Season 1 - not 9.

So while I'm willing to give this SHOW 5 stars - without question - I can't rate this season as highly because it is not a complete set. I'm disappointed, honestly, and had hopes that my favorite show would have been released in its entirety.

Just in time for its rebirth on network TV, this side-splitting comedy is available on iTunes to share and enjoy! (Sorry, wrong sci-fi propertly.) A lovable loser is accidentally frozen and wakes up in the year 3000, where robots and aliens are common and what Fry mistakes for a phone booth tries to kill him! Pop culture references abound, just like the Simpsons, and there are even guest celebrities!

One word of warning, though: this show is not exactly kid-friendly. I would say age twelve and up. Plus some of the references would be lost on kids anyway.

Sad how FOX cancelled my favorite TV show of all time in its 4th season. It's mostly their fault for putting Futurama on at 7pm when most prime time TV watchers aren't watching TV yet or even worse how every other episode was preempted with football or baseball. Thanks to Matt Groening, David X Cohen, the rest of the fantastic Futurama team and Comedy Central for reviving the series. I hope it will go on to have more seasons than the Simpsons. Please get seasons 2-4 up ASAP along with Bender's Big Score and the 3 upcoming movies when they come out for buy OR rent. Also, I like to listen to DVD commentaries, so how about an iTunes Digital Copy when the next 3 movies come out?

Futurama is finally here. With the eventual release of Family Guy on iTunes, and now Futurama, could we really get The Simpsons? Who knows? Let's hope so.

As most of you know, Matt Groening is the creator of the massive phenomenon that is the Simpsons. Back in 1999, the city of Springfield was in fair health. It was in that same year, Groening would release a future of devastating irony on the world. Futurama was a godsend because of it's hilarious pop culture references and dramatic shifts from your standard comedy to something more universal in theme. That is the beauty of this now deceased show but the resurrection is in process, I know Jesus would be proud.

It was a good idea for iTunes to add Futurama, it's one of my favorite shows. The thing is, I already have season 1 on dvd. And, some episodes from Season 1 are missing. Episode 10, "A Flight To Remember," Episode 11, "Mars University," Episode 12, "When Aliens Attack," and Episode 13, "Fry & The Slurm Factory" (all of the episodes from disc 3 of the dvds) are all missing. I suggest that if you want people to buy this, add all of the episodes. And, by the way, make sure you add the new episodes airing on Comedy Central, starting Sunday March 23rd. I can't wait!

I love Futurama. I love this show. There is absoulutely no reason FOX should have ever taken it off the air, I mean, seriously, they do that with every good show. As soon as people start to like a show on FOX, it gets cancelled. Sometimes I wonder who or what keeps that channel alive.

BTW, iTunes, you messed up the order, "A Fishful of Dollars" isn't the first episode of season one, it's the sixth episode.

Futurama is going to be a classic in animation. Created by Matt Groening (who created The Simpsons) and David X. Cohen, Futurama is considered by many to be better than the long-running Simpsons. It is certainly a more sentimental show as the creators certainly have a strong affection for their lovable loser main character, Fry.

Futurama operates on many levels - as farce, as surrealism, as social commentary and as love story. But it's strongest point may be it's spot-on parody of science fiction, whch can often take itself too seriously and, therefore, is ripe for comedy. Futurama goes after Sci-Fi savagely, with full-guns glee - and a bit of respect and admiration. But most importantly, it is often flat out-loud funny.

As far as it being "cancelled before it's time", no need to worry. The first of four direct-to-DVD movies had just been released and will air in broken up half hour episodes over the course of 2008 and 2009. So, Futurama lives again.

But, annoyingly, as is the case with much iTunes fair, the season is incomplete. The actual first season is 13 episodes, not 9. And the episodes that are here are out of order. But, if you don't have the DVD's, it is still worth the download.
