Description
The Doctor is locked away in a high-security alien prison. Isolated, alone, with no hope of escape. Far away, on Earth, her best friends, Yaz, Ryan, and Graham have to pick up their lives without her. But it's not easy. Old habits die hard. Especially when they discover a disturbing plan forming. A plan which involves a Dalek. But how can you fight a Dalek, without the Doctor?

There’s not much joy in Doctor Who these days. Jodie is a fine actress, but she’s not able to rise above the mediocre writing. BBC needs to rethink the Chibnall reboot.

I enjoyed this episode more than a decent number of the season 10’s episodes. I felt it captured more of the adventure and swagger of the previous doctor.
Captain Jack is also a treat, but would have loved to have more Torchwood Easter Eggs. Could we see a revival?

I’ve read about and just seen the post-credits scene for this episode. I won’t give away what’s shown in it, but have to ask why it isn’t included in the episode I purchased on iTunes? I’m sure it’s just due to all-too-human error, but still, please update the episode.

Longtime fan, the episode is terrible. Disappointed I had to wait 9 months for this ep. Always good to see Capt Jack, skip the rest.

First off, I paid for this (as I have all of them since series the reboot) as BBCA insert so many commercial breaks it makes it hard to follow the plot. So what’s the first thing I see when I turn on my purchased from iTunes New Year’s special? An ad, and one that I can’t skip, we are not amused.
I had really high hopes that the return of Captain Jack would bring back some of the magic and in small ways he did, it was great to see Captain Jack again.
After dragging through the beginning I am happy for the return but just a bit disappointed again in the writing. Where is the fun where is the humor where is the magic?

I waited all New Year’s Day for this to show. Nothing. Huge disappointment. Great way to start the year Apple.
So 20 minutes after I wrote that it showed. I watched it was well done. I like when Jack Shows. Was a bit sad. Looking for a bit of hope in these times, but that might be asking a bit much from my old friend the doctor.
To all the creators, have a healthy happy new decade. Keep your circle close in your heart and far from danger. Stay blue.

The writing has been dodgy these past few seasons but I really liked this one. I’ve always loved this group of actors and Jack is a welcome addition. I love this show so much.

I’ll review again when I can actually watch the episode. But It’s beyond me why people who pay for the episode have to wait a day or two after it has aired to watch it. Just release it at the same time. The pirates have it before the legitimate purchasers.

All the fun has been lost, this special looks just as dismal and terrible as the rest of the Jodie episodes. My New Years Day wish is that Mrs. Who and her awful ‘fam’ all stay locked up in that Dalek prison forever and never come back. Or... it was all a bad dream and the real Dr. Who (Tennant/ Smith/ etc.) wakes up and saves this show before it’s too late.

Hope we will have full screen episode with a 16/9 screen like it is in original international... it's more confortable and spectacular! Don't like the black screen on top and bottom !

I love Doctor Who and the thirteenth doctor does an amazing job! Thanks to Jodie for bringing the doctor alive in a new way. There is a huge surprise for doctor who fans of captain jack !
