Description

The costume drama series, Downton Abbey, written and created by Oscar-winning writer Julian Fellowes, stars Academy Award-winner Maggie Smith as a Dowager Countess of an Edwardian English country house in 1912. The series portrays the lives of the Crawley family and the servants who work for them, in a time before the last vestige of century's old tradition were stripped away by World War and the modern age. The all star cast also includes Hugh Bonneville and Elizabeth McGovern.

Used to be Only the Movies app had multiple instances of a film so that Disney etc. could re-release something with little to sometimes No difference and make your copy of media obsolete and unobtainable or viewable in the main iTunes Store. Well now TV has joined in on this gross practice. All my seasons of Downtown Abbey have disappeared from the store, in favor of these ‘new versions’. The difference? Nothing. There is a sequel pending and they chopped the PBS banner off the top of the artwork. That’s it!

PBS has the limited collection edition dvd set for $199.00. It comes packages in a gold box, includes a hardcovers book, cork coasters, etc. I want the iTunes so that I can conveniently watch it. I watched the exhibitions at The Biltmore Estate and in New York on tv. It was wonderful to watch.

I watched the whole series as it aired on PBS and loved every minute. Now that I have the series on iTunes I can't wait to binge it from episode 1! So good it HAS to be fattening...
