One of the best Jane Austen adaptations I have seen. The romance, costumes, dialogue. Amazing. Totally binge worthy! 5 stars.

Love this show! Hope it comes back for a season 2!

Sanditon is beautifully produced with spot on performances, great costumes, interesting family drama along with romance and other twists and turns. Having been written based on just a snippet of Jane Austen’s, the plot is not entirely Austen-esque and there are some creepy sibling dynamics that detract from the story. But the other characters are complex, the scenery is magnificent and the show is completely addictive. It will leave you wanting more.

This was an incredible show. It may seem different than your typical Jane Austen piece, but go into with an open mind and enjoy the show for what is. A wonderful and beautiful period piece.

The romance is beautiful, but the other characters are delightful in their individuality, casting and storylines. This show has it all, drama, comedy, great sets and costumes and amazing acting!

I can honestly tell you, I wasn’t sure if I liked this series until about the 5th or 6th episode. It’ doesn’t feel like Jane Austen and it’s a lot more “gritty” than I expected, but I kept watching. Once I hit episode 6, I couldn’t stop! I love a good “will they or won’t they” story! We definitely need a season 2, but season 1 alone is well worth the watch!

Currently my favorite show. I’ve watched the entire season because I couldn’t wait! Fingers crossed for Season 2!

Absolutely love this show!!!!! I haven’t felt this passionate about a period drama in a long time, yet it’s obvious that Andrew Davies set Sanditon up as a multi-season show. The only thing missing is the confirmation on Sanditon Season 2!!! Regardless, the casting, music, costumes and storyline are phenomenal 🥰 Hopefully we get the second season we deserve.

Gorgeous English period drama! Finally if you loved Pride and Prejudice and Becoming Jane this is definitely for you. This is fresh never done new original Jane Austen unfinished work. The story is familiar but also

new and exciting. The characters are ready for you to fall in love with and go on a journey that draws you in with the rhythm you know and love. What you don’t expect is Rose Williams and Theo James and the chemistry that is burning up the screen! And after the season finale you won’t be able to sleep begging for Sanditon Season 2!!! It is a true Austen addiction. Loved it and only want more!!!

Loved it. The only thing that would make it better would be a second season with a HEA for Charlotte and Sidney.

Absolutely stunning period piece! It is an adaptation of the unfinished Novel by Jane Austen but as the original novel only had 11 pages (which loosely introduced a few characters) Andrew Davies had the license to make it his own. It is very modernized for the time which I found endearing and sweet. It’s starts at a slow pace and starts picking up steam. It’s one of those stick with it to fall totally in love series and my golly did I LOVE it! The acting was wonderful and a few supporting characters were such a delight to listen to as they offered hilarious comic reliefs with great one liners and reactions.

I love Jane Austin and I love how they adapted her half written book to this Masterpiece! Must watch!

Sanditon is a wonderful show! We need a season 2!!!

Jane Austen with some extra love. This season sucked me in and spit me out. Completely In love with the series. The characters are wonderfully portrayed by the actors. Loving the story line, but eager for a second season to see the unraveling story line of a true Jane Austen love story. This show I’ll NOT disappoint.

I love, love, love Sanditon! It just draws you in with the gorgeous beachside town, interesting families and relationships, passionate dreams and witty banter. Hoping and praying for a second season!

I am completely captivated by the characters. Please give us another season. I haven’t been this pulled in since Downton Abbey.

Sanditon is so fresh, so fun, so captivating! I love that it has the themes and characters of traditional Jane Austen and her final book, but I love that the characters have been developed so well that by the episode 6 you are ALL IN and want to know everything about their lives, past and future. This is magic and so beautifully made. We must have more!!!

Quite an addictive show and my only complaint is there isn’t more to tie up the story with a pretty ending and not the heart wrenching cliffhanger currently there. I hope PBS picks it up seeing as ITV gave it the boot. Far too good to end at a season 1!

Wonderful, fresh story that used the first 11 chapters of Jane Austen’s last unfinished manuscript as inspiration for the series. It’s Jane Austen inspired (and quite lovely) but divorce yourself from what you think Jane Austen would have written for these characters (because you’ll never know!). This has allowed Andrew Davies (Pride & Prejudice) to take bold and refreshing liberties with the storyline. You’ll fall in love with the characters and be rooting for Charlotte and Sidney by the end of the series. Not to be missed!

I really like this series so far. Good characters. The "world" is well developed. Some drama. Can't wait for more episodes to come out.

I am left hanging after season 1. Please continue the story with another season! Sydney cannot go through with his commitment!

When do we get the UK version? We want to see the uncut episodes. Why does PBS have to edit these, or may we say, sanitize them? And spare us the politics of the UK/US producers and give us what we want: Season 2. If your tastes favor period romance, this is addictive, with a modern flair. Andrew Davies is a genius.

I would love to see a resolution to the ending of the 1st season. There’s still so much to explore.

As a devoted Austen fan, I was thoroughly delighted to hear of this project. And while it delivers with cinematic shots, gorgeous costumes and a strong supporting cast, the ending left so much to be desired. Please consider a second season to finish telling the stories... Ms. Austen deserves more credit than the current treatment!

Excellent series in every way, good acting, character development and plot

Simply awful interpretation of this novel. Inaccurate.

I absolutely loved this show. I would love to see the UK version as well and I hope iTunes will eventually add it. PBS also edits it. But still deserving of 4 stars. I’m anxious to see if it will get a second season. Hopefully US will bring a bigger audience.

I am disappointed in how the U.S. edited this show. I would rather the UK version, which aired first, than the U.S. version.

I wish the U.S. iTunes Store would allow us to purchase UK’s version of this show.

Just disappointed that we got an edited version. Still a good show. That’s why I gave it a 3 instead of a 1 or 2.
