This review applies to all three seasons. Writing is very poor with weak characters, plot lines, and dialogue. The acting features longing gazes and lines that give this the feel of a low-budget soap opera. Definitely not worth buying.

This is the worst TV Series ever, There is no soul behind it, The story is ridiculous completely and acting is worse than that, It is not even a comic book like The Walking Dead so all characters are fake, Just make bloody your body and you can live among the infected ones. What The .....!

There's really good character development and is not that predictable unlike the walking dead the acting isn't the best but that shouldn't knock it 4 stars I feel like all these reviews are either "I hate it" or "I love it" there seems to be no in between

They Blew the show's budget on a $26 million Boat. i saw from the 1st season they were trying to be a bit more PC, and i gave it a chance, Travis was cool, Absolutely loved Strand. Well now EVERY episode in this season is edited using the SAME tired gimmick - start with an "intense" scene and disorient the viewer to where you don't know whats going on, then go back in time and work your way back to that point. only they don't pull it off because it jumps so much you miss a lot, it explains nothing, and there is no real storyline... only to find they LITERALLY do the SAME gimmick EVERY episode, i am 5 episodes in, and i cannot watch anymore literally every episode Strand Saves them all and travis stands around frozen and clueless. and swimming zombies, thats a thing. just stupid and dumb! this is what happens when you care more about being inclusive rather than finding the right person for the job. utter FAILURE. i swear the director accepts the 1st take, blatant errors on screen. the fight scenes are a throwback to power rangers, i PROMISE!!

Second half of the season gets really good!

Okay I liked the first season but season 2 i just don't know. This whole zombie loving Mexicans thing is just getting old. I just can't see Mexicans being that stupid as to believe the zombie still have souls and would feed themselves to the zombies. I have family that are Mexican and they would be more along the lines of TWD show then FTWD. And Nick was one of my fav. last season but this season I am force myself to watch his character go down the drain. UGH what happen???? Please just no more Nick in next ep. walking around in moodville. I just can't ugh. Starting to think it will be better to wait for it to come out on NETFLIX Fingers cross ep. 3 will be better if they stick more with the group and not just Nick.

Just when this show starts showing promise and potential it always goes south....I can only name two characters that are actually comeplling. The rest are unlikeable and interchangeable. You don't really have a great emotional investment like you do with TWD. There were so many routes this show could have gone and it picked a very meh one. Skip unless you're a hardcore TWD fan and want to be in the know of the universe.

The characters are uninteresting and the show is riddled with missed opportunities and terrible development, while leaving out every interesting part of the original premise. This was the first time I rooted for the zombies to take everyone out. It's just not good. Cancel this as it's only going to get worse and start a new show with Lee & Clementine from the WD game. This time show the first few days instead of people sitting in the room playing a board game or on a boat.

Slow burn is the best. What people don't realize is that this show isn't a spinoff show. It's a companion series, set in the same universe, but in different times. The unique storylines is what brings me back to each episode. Love it! Can't wait for the rest of season 2 & season 3!

This show is a completely different take on how the apocalypse affects the living and their relationships. If you want to see lots of shooting, gore, and walkers being blown away, stick with TWD.
I like the fact that there is a diverse cast, and that there is a lot of Spanish spoken. This is realistic for a diverse group of people from LA thrown together into the madness.
I especially liked Ruben Blades as the he old man. He left a country in revolution, where he had to kill many people as a soldier, to find a better life for his family in the US. Only that new life falls apart and he finds himself having to kill again to protect the ones he loves.
His wisdom and conflict often show through more in what he does not speak than hat he does speak. His facial expressions and body language speak volumes. I am gonna miss the old guy.

I do not know why this was made in the first place. Don't get me wrong. I get what the producers are trying project, but there was a huge disconnect from the script, actors and director. The storytelling was slow as in very slow. The characters where not of TWD caliber, which makes you wish that zombies just drop grom the skies and get this over with. The pacing was utterly confusing and a misery to watch. The drama that made TWD great was so fleeting in this spin-off. I think this series was well intentioned, but someone has to own up to this mess.

The Meandering Dead

This’ll teach me not to buy a season in advance. No characters to really care about—the punk young guys drag the whole cast down—and a meandering plot that seems to have no focus nor even a general direction. One gets the impression the writer partied too hard the night before the script was due and then had to toss off anything s/he could manage while nursing a hangover.
The whole crisis in the compound Strand took the group to, along with the elderly Hispanic man’s madness, seemed to be dropped in out of nowhere, no development, no real anguish on the part of viewers about the destruction of the refuge, the fate of the family, nothing much. If the two punks are really out of it, though, might give it another look-see; that would help a lot.

How could they do this to TWD fans?

This season went from boring to sad to hopeless to ridiculous. I really wanted to like it. Gave it second and third chances, and now I want it to fail so they can reboot with a different storyline with new characters in the Walking Dead world. Here's what's wrong with this series in descending order of complaints: 1) No zombies. Where are the zombies? 2) characters we don't care about 3) Bad writing and crappy storylines 4) No Frank Darabout 5) Really? No zombies in Los Angeles at the beginning of the plague? They all disappeared and suddenly reappear? Save your money, rent later if you must, don't pay for this horrible series. Did I say how bad it was? Can't believe so many people rate it so high. Makes me not want to trust iTunes ratings.

Don't worry the show is exciting and different! It's NOT the walking dead, so don't expect to see action packed scenes of rednecks fighting zombies, the show focuses on the human element to the apocalypse. Frank Dillane plays Nick the junkie addict son struggling to beat addictions and acting is amazing, young johnny depp. The plot is different lots of mini stories going on around the group instead of one big bad villain every other season. Really worth a watch.

Let's get this straight ok, fear the walking dead and the walking dead are two different shows and of course there not going to the same. I can't get into the walking dead but I love fear the walking dead. There's more action to it and the show is great if you like watching zombies that actually go after people. Please don't compare the walking dead to fear the walking dead because there both different and everyone on has there own opinion.

Without even comparing FEAR to TWD, this show is awful. The acting, storyline, the Strand character is a joke, I don't care about a single character on the show, no suspense. It's like a really bad CW show. I'm finished buying episodes as I gave it a fair shot. Pull the plug on FEAR ASAP. Great idea but they blew it.

Please make this show a bit more realistic...
Make them smarter and use smarter tactics to get them out of a bind...

First of all… I'm a big fan of The Walking Dead. And I have tried to give the show a chance to find its legs. Unfortunately this show is just weak at every turn. It is poorly executed… Poorly written… All of the characters are unlikable… Most of the plot points are stupid… seriously, I hate that show. I don't even want to keep watching the second season. I want my money back. Maybe they should just film an episode where all of the characters get killed. I would pay to see that.

I love the walking dead, but am so tired of the gratuitous gore. Plus, people forget that there were weak seasons in WD (Just like there were in LOST)!
What I like about FWD is the finesse of the storyline. Seeing the characters develop quickly from regular people dealing with normal daily problems into survivors in a nightmarish world who are forced to quickly shed the life and rules of the humanity they took for granted. I can't wait to see what direction this show is going to take!

This series has really grabbed my attention. The first two episodes of this season where weak ish, but where necessary to develop the characters. But now that we’ve seen episodes 3 and 4, this is definitely on par with its sibling series, TWD. Don’t listen to all the negative reviews on here, at least give this series a chance through the first half of Season 2.

Poorly written, no characters to like and bratty teens. Besides, you'd think that every survivor would be monitoring the news to find out what is going on with the outbreak, but no, they stay just as clueless as the rest of us. Not much happens in any episode. I know that TWD can be a little slow at times, but at least you get to learn more about the characters you like. With these characters you just get to like them less and less.

Don't buy!

Season 2 is absolutely terrible! So much worse than season 1. Hands down, the worst show on AMC. I'm totally shocked. Terrible writing, horrible editing, characters you no longer care about, everyone is an idiot, no real drama or suspense, just random scenes that are a few sentences long but don't add anything in terms of plot or character development.
I bought the season pass because I love AMC. But after watching the first episode of season 2, there's no way I'm going to waste one more minute on this garbage. I really wish I could get my money back.
If you were hoping for something like Season 1, be warned!! You will not find it here! Only bad film making lies ahead!!!!

I’d rate the first season 3.5 out of 5 stars, and I will say that I actually enjoyed it. But this one.. is just boring as f*ck. How does one take such an awesome genre, with its virtually limitless possibilities, and produce this generic snore-fest? It is a zombie show with the heart of some corny 90’s sitcom about family values... It is mind boggling the angels they have tried to take here… Seriously though, the first two episodes have virtually no entertaining content, not a single redeeming scene. Nothing. Terrible

Fear this awful show!

without any likable characters, only periodic appearances of any “walking dead” and no story, the first episode from this season made me very glad I didn’t buy the season pass.
Boring, personality-free people mope a lot, kids sulk, stupid girl tells pirates where they are and how to come get them and people stand around a lot looking as bored as the audience. This pointless, poorly-made cash-grab of a show’s first season was abysmal but I gave this episode one last chance. They squandered it.
I’m hoping the zombies eat them all.

No character development, whatsoever. Where exactly is the arc in this episode? What potential does this series have to offer that The Walking Dead doesn't already over saturate. Pirates now?
Prediction of the plot elements for this season include... Pirates, bad weather, someone onboard turns from being bitten, the boat is attacked, they barely make it to land (another false refuge), and meet the next nemesis... Season cliff hanger. Please invent a plot line that's useful and creative. This show already blundered over opportunities to let the viewers discover the inception of 'The Walker' disease. Now they're just strong holding their next cash cow.
