I listen to several podcasts dealing with recovery and body positivity, but something about Christy's struck home. The guests are diverse and the straightforward way that the diet-culture is challenged is extremely powerful. I feel thankful that I found this podcast. It is already making a difference in the way I see myself.

Yes yes yes yes. This podcast is amazing if you need a reset on the diet mentality culture we live in and want to focus on and listen to people talk about having a healthy relationship with food. Christy is so knowledgable and fabulous and trustworthy. This is a game changer podcast!

It is so refreshing to hear food talked about like Christy does. I never realized how we are so wired to think we need to diet - it is actually distorting our relationship with food. I am looking forward to reestablishing a healthy relationship with food and becoming an intuitive eater! This podcast is perfect for everyone - even people that do not think they have a bad relationship with food. This helps people to reach food freedom!

I binge listened to this podcast over the last two weeks, and I loved how Christy was an engaging host who brought out interesting and inspirational stories and insights from each guest! My only suggestion is that you hold back a little bit on the swearing...it doesn't seem like a big deal to many, but it would be nice to stay away from any profane words -- it can be a stance against the social norm to swear to sound "cool." Thanks for a wonderful podcast!

I am still struggling with bulimia and it's hell, but a few months ago I decided I need to surround myself with body positive and ED recovery messages and that's when I found this podcast!! It has been so inspiration and like the voice of a friend telling me I can stop this cycle of hurting myself and love myself instead. I happened upon this podcast, while searching for interviews featuring Isabel Foxen Duke, and I'm so glad I did! I have now incorporated listening to this podcast every single day. That's the plus of showing up late to the party, plenty of old episodes to catch up on! Christy, her guests, and their conversations have helped me so much in my journey with intuitive eating and body positivity. That fact that Christy approaches these topics from experience makes this podcast so real and relevant to its listeners.

I stumbled across this podcast and I totally wish I came across it years ago, but I am grateful that I did now. With the exception of a couple of episodes, I feel they are totally speaking to me. Christy has such an amazing demeanor and I can listen to many podcasts without even thinking about the time that has passed; She is now the soundtrack of my work day. Aside from working on my binge eating, I have to now work on my binge listening ;-) Much respect and thanks for your work.

The title of my review sound s like a bad infomercial tag line, but I'm being sincere. I didn't realize there was something other than diet culture out there. I didn't realize you COULD leave that way of thinking, partially because I didn't realize how I was a participant, how ingrained diet culture was in my own psyche... I didn't think I was dieter. This podcast has not only opened the door to changing my own life with food, but it's also brought me into a world where I can be a better role model for my own daughters. The guests that Christy has on are phenomenal, each becoming a new resource for this very important journey. This isn't just about food, or about bodies, but about how we as humans connect to the world we live in and how we interact with the people that cross our paths. I am so thankful for this podcast and for the friend that recommended it to me. Thank you so much, Christy, for the tools to begin this paradigm shift. Thank you!

I came to this podcast after hearing it suggested on another podcast, and listened to 3 of them today and I'm just so moved. The one with Ijeoma Oluo made me feel like she was speaking directly to my soul, she spoke so eloquently on truths I hold about how amazing a vessel the body is and how that is something worth treasuring and cherishing throughout our lives. Hearing other people's narritives makes your own experience feel less isolated, you find that you hear your story in others' voices, and I think that's amazing and beautiful. This is the first time I've felt so compelled and moved to leave a review, and I cannot wait to hear more! Thanks for creating this space and sharing these very important discussions with the world!

I discovered Christy as a guest on another podcast and was blown away by her approach to food. I come from the health/fitness world where clean eating reigns and exercise is a non-negotiable so to listen to all these episodes with so many different guests from all walks of life was death to my old story of who I thought I should be.
If it is one word this podcast represents to me it's "freedom." I have never been happier and have even changed the direction of my career in response to this podcast. I have also been opened up to so many different ideas in which my personal surprise/favorite has been the topic of social justice in relation to body image & beauty ideals.
This might sound weird, but Christy's voice makes this particular podcast easy to digest and enjoy. I love the format and how the episodes flow depending on the guest and their personality.
If I could give this podcast more stars, I would!!!

I am your average woman in her early to mid twenties with a history of an eating disorder. I’ve been “recovered” for some time now (as in I haven’t engaged in blatantly disordered eating behaviors for about 2 years now). However, despite being aware of the complexities that surround this issue (for example, the fact that eating disorders are in part the result of insane societal expectations—perpetuated by a billion dollar dieting industry that only cares about money and doesn’t give two cents about the well being of women but pretends to be—on women to look and be a certain way and as Naomi Wolf says, dieting is a ‘political sedative’ to keep women in control because hungry women are easy to keep at bay) sometimes, it isn’t enough for me to stay strong. And so, a couple of years ago, in my journey to seek out ways to stay on track with my recovery and to stay away from disordered and unhealthy behaviors, I discovered Isabel Foxen Duke (who is also incredible btw). I followed her work for some time until I stumbled upon an interview on this podcast with Christy and Isabel, and I have been an avid listener ever since. Food Psych literally keeps me sane. Especially on days when I am in my low and I feel ever so slightly tempted to fall back into my old ways, listening to Christy’s podcasts remind me of how far I’ve come, and I snap back to reality—that dieting is not going to solve my problems, that the only way to solve them is to be brave and face them. I’m not saying that this podcast comes in place of professional eating disorder recovery. I got professional help with eating disorder counselors and therapists years ago when I was at my worst, but in the aftermath of my recovery, this podcast is what keeps me in check. I always look forward to Christy’s podcasts (she has the most soothing voice, is a really really calm listener, and is super smart and offers the most incredible insights that take me by pleasant surprise every time). To me, she’s like a beacon of light, an ally standing in solidarity with all people who are going through this journey, including myself of course. I write this review in hopes that others will find the same hope that I did.

Probably like everyone else that listens to the podcast, my own ed recovery and aspirations to become a body positive intuitive eating Rd lead me here. I didn't know what to expect because I have never met a teacher or a rd that believed these principles. Every episode leaves me feeling more human , more free , hopeful and inspired. Ep 101 literally moved me to tears as they discussed culture and humans connecting over food. Food is a part of our human experience. In my culture food holds memory and precious stories that connect us to ancestors long gone. It keeps a seat at the table for them . And sometimes some dishes are not nutritionally dense for the body but they very much are for the soul. Sometimes I still feel anxiety if relatives want to meet over a meal because the "is the food going to be healthy ? Can we meet while doing a physical or non food related activity? Demon "rears its head. This podcast gave that feeling a hard check. Thank you.

I was initially attracted to Christy's podcast because of her "health at every size" approach and feminist lens through which these discussions exist. That is SO hard to find. I just started listening a few months ago and I feel like I've been living in my earbuds ever since. The discussions she has with interviewees resonate so much with me, as I'm in a phase of AN recovery where my body is stable but my mind is still a war zone. After 10 years of battling this monster I'm desparately trying to surround myself with anti-diet/body positive talk. I found that here. I would even say that I feel emotionally supported when I'm listening, almost as if I were in the room and the information is directed to specifically me. Thank you SO much for pushing through with this podcast, Christy, even when it was tiresome for you. I cannot tell you how appreciative I am.

I stumbled across this AMAZING podcast earlier this summer. I am a teacher and I wanted to listen to some positive food related podcasts. I got all I wanted and more from listening to FoodPsych. I love her conversations and insights. The people she interviews are inspirational and always get me thinking! I am also a huge talker in the car...when I am alone it gets to become looonnnggg drives. So having the FoodPsych podcast on, makes me feel like I have a friend with me.

I wasn't specifically looking for a food/ eating podcast, but I love this podcast. I feel like I've learned a lot about intuitive eating, pschological issues, and nutrition. I love how Christy Harrison asks her guests about not only their issues with food, but also their career paths and ways of dealing with other issues.

This is my absolute favorite podcast out there. After being diagnosed with a binge eating disorder a few years ago, I didn't believe there were a lot of resources out there for someone like me. I always felt very alone in my diagnosis. But since finding Christy's interviews on food psych I now feel like I belong to this community of strong individuals. Every guest on Christy's show, as well as Christy herself, inspire me to love my body and love myself. Christy just recently answered one of my questions on her Ask Food Psych show and I was so touched that she took the time to answer a question that had been bothering me for awhile. It shows that she truly cares about her listeners and that is something I will always truly appreciate. If you aren't listening, you should be!

Really fabulous podcast!

I am on a journey of healing my relationship with food and found this podcast. How refreshing! Christy has a great voice (not just as in easy on the ears but as in, she is a knowledgeable and qualified and unique voice on this topic). The guests have been awesome and I really feel like this is the TRUTH we need to get back to regarding food and eating and diets. I hope Christy begins toget more notoriety and her voice and message can go out to more people. We need freedom, people!

These interviews by Christy are very relatable and interesting! For me personally, her podcast makes me feel like I'm not alone with intrusive thoughts surrounding food and perfectionism while simultaneously giving me hope that if I keep moving forward, things will get better and I will fully overcome this :) Unfortunately these types of disorders lead to isolating behaviors which I am currently trying to challenge, but this podcast allows me to feel included and connected to others who understand the struggle even though I'm just listening! Love it.

Thank YOU!

As a future RD, I love listening to Christy’s podcast and her interviews with guests. She has such a great perspective on health, size and food- I wish more people would listen and understand what Christy does such a great job of explaining. Her interviews are fascinating no matter who she has on and they are all real and genuine. Love this podcast and the work that Christy does!

I work as an eating disorder/disordered eating dietitian and first came across the Food Psych podcast last year and have been hooked ever since. It’s such a great resource for clients who are ready for the HAES/intuitive eating message. It’s also a great resource for me so I don’t feel so alone in my profession as a HAES, body positive, intuitive eating dietitian. It’s unfortunate that many dietitians still push diet mentality. Even in my education to become a RD a diet mentality was encouraged. LOVE getting to find support and community in the Food Psych Podcasts. Thanks for all your work, Christy! So grateful for your podcast.

I recently discovered the Food Psych podcast and have been trying to catch up. I love all the interviews and Christy's perspective on eating disorders, life and food in general. As a person who suffered for many years with disrodered eating, it is nice to hear all the stories that I can relate to, as well as know I am not alone. Also, it has helped me realize there were still areas that I needed to do some work on to ensure I stay on the recovered path. I look forward to all the new episodes. Thanks Christy for all your hardwork! Keep doing the excellent work! We need to continue breaking the silence.

I discovered this podcast a short bit after beginning recovery from anorexia. It has helped me grow so much, and allowed me to explore topics I never would have thought of on my own. I have a team working with me, but it helps to know there are other strong, adult women out there who struggle with the same thoughts and feelings I do. I look forward to every new episode, and I haven't come across one yet that I haven't adored. Thanks for all you do, Christy!

This is one of the best podcast out there regarding disordered eating and food relationships. Christy’s guest are all willing to "tell it all” and she does a great job making them feel comfortable. In addition, her honesty with her own relationship with food gives her credibility and “likability”. As fellow HAES RD, it is so important to let people know that all RDs are not the food police, perfect eaters, meal plan advocates and don’t believe weight is cure all.

I absolutely love Christy Harrison's podcast - FOOD PSYCH. I've been a faithful listener for a few years and as a Body Image and Eating Psychology Coach I often recommend it to my clients too. The content over the last several months has been my favorite. I'm a fellow HAES advocate and have enjoyed the evolution of the podcast into what it is today (though some of the older episodes are still quite helpful and enlightening). And the intro song... my kids know it by heart. Keep up the great work Christy and if you haven't given Food Psych a listen, do yourselves a favor and push play.

I came across Christy’s podcast while searching for interviews with some of the experts in the field of intuitive eating and making peace with food. I’ve enjoyed more than a dozen episodes so far and I’m enjoying catching up on previous podcasts, especially this past year which is more focused on recovery from food issues. Her interviewing style is respectful and inviting, and her guests are always interesting. Thank you, Christy, for all that you do — you are making a difference.

Christy is a fantastic interviewer and manages to find guests with fascinating stories. Her style is very laid back, and I love that they essentially break bread together each time she does an episode — it’s a lovely part of the show.
Christy has dedicated this season of the show to eating disorder recovery & health at every size, which is a topic that is immensely useful and relatable for me, as someone who has always struggled with her relationship to food.
This is a very high quality podcast that I look forward to each time!

I can’t get enough of this Pod! Christy is so intelligent and insightful as a host! She brings on a diverse group of interesting guests who really help to depict how deeply personal our relationship to food is as a human species and how vastly different it is from person to person, family to family but we can connect on many different levels regardless. It is truly beautiful. Thank you for creating this Christy, I’m super grateful!
