This review would absolutely be five stars except for one gripe(volume) which I will address. I have been loyal listener of the GB program consistently for almost 2 years now. I have even listened to the episodes where Glenn has been replaced by different hosts and I have all intentions to continue. I normally listen via the iTunes "The Glenn Beck program" podcast on my iPhone. I love the content and am comfortable saying that Glenn Beck, The Blaze and Mercury One have had a tremendous impact on my life. I would like to thank all of you for your commitment to making a real difference and standing for truth. At every chance I get, I recommend my family, friends and colleagues to give you all a try. However, after consistent listening I think I've developed some level of hearing damage. My profession is extremely sensitive to this issue and I hope you will seriously consider my request. I'm confident that the issue is obvious enough that some listeners may have already raised this concern. The programs' level of volume seems to very unstable. It may be loud one minute and then inaudible the next. "The Vault" and "Think-tank" episodes almost always have inaudible portions. In my opinion, these specific episode issues seem to be microphone placement issues. I do understand that there will always be issues with live content and individual microphones. However, the most concerning issue for me is with the transitions to or from a commercial break within each episode. I'm not sure if "transition" is the appropriate term, but I'm not familiar with production/radio lingo. There is one specific transition that can be heard at the very beginning of an episode, prior to a commercial or at the end of a segment and immediately prior to a commercial break. It includes a record/radio "scratch" and then a man that says, "THIS IS THE BLAZE RADIO...ON DEMAND" along with music in the background. This "scratch" can be very harsh on the ears. Whenever I recognize it coming, I hurry to hit the volume level of my phone, headphones or car stereo. Otherwise, you will surely get an ear piercing "scratch" that can be really annoying. My wife has commented on the "horrible noise" as I've listened to the program. It completely diverts focus from whatever your doing while trying to adjust the volume before your ears get blasted. It may sound silly, but I find myself dropping my phone and getting tangled in my headphone cord while fumbling to quickly adjust the volume. Or worse, I have I completely lost focus on driving while trying to quickly adjust the car stereo volume when I hear the segment transition coming. I can't be sure if this has caused issues with my hearing, but I've certainly noticed changes after listening to the program consistently. So, I hope you will find a way to stabilize the volume level associated with each program. I will apologize to whoever the voice is on that segment transition, but I would be happy to see it completely removed, especially the "scratch" portion. Thank you for your consideration.
