I'm at intermediate or maybe upper intermediate level and have found the lessons to be good. I like Sam because I too want to know "why" - it helps me understand and apply what I've learned. Celine could be nicer to him.

Lesson notes are gone

What happened to the lesson notes? They are no longer available when taping the album art. Nowadays it just refers you to the website.

Worst french podcast

As I visited their website, they send me an email that they offer some package for only 1 dollor for month. But their website is too complicated and the podcast itself didn't really help me out. And now they charge me 23$ per month and never answer for my email to get refund.
This podcast is waste of my time and money. I recommand the other podcast "CoffeeBreak French". It is simpler and better. And don't send you huge spam mail for payments.

I don't mean to be rude but this IS a language podcast and I find the guys lisp far too distracting in each lesson.

I'm using this in conjunction with another method and find that it gives me a good mix of approaches to learning french.

Even though, I am a Haitian I understand this podcast pretty good. I speak two languages English/creole. I want to learn a third language so I can be a master at this.

I think the Absolute Beginners podcasts are usefull to help me in my French. I am taking it in school, and the vocab review is great. And Eric and Virginie are funny!

These were great and I loved listening to them until "Season 2" when the only thing that posted were Newbie lessons. As a teacher of primarily upper-level classes, the Newbie lessons don't work so well for my class and I certainly don't enjoy them as much. :(

Get rid of SAM!

Sam is annoying, and distracts from the lessons. He's sarcastic, bored and not funny, and he interrupts and irritates Celine, the instructor. He's like the kid in class who won't sit still or shut up. Moreover, he has an annoying accent. Is he from New Jersey? If it wasn't for him, I could get into the lessons. The French teachers, on the other hand, are great and do a terrific job. I could give you 5 stars were it not for the village idiot who plays host. Someone like Peter on JapanesePod101 would make FrenchPod101 really shine.

There's some good French in there, but Sam, the American host, is a bit awkward and they do these weird falsettos for women's and children's voices in the dialogue which drive me nuts. It's good language practice if you can grin and bear it though.

This seems like a really great way to start learning French, but I wish the PDFs were free. It's absolutely essential that I see the words in front of me to really learn anything with this podcast. Why don't you make other features like Guided Learning, etc. for paid subscribers only but at least have a transcription of each podcast for free? Then I'll actually be able to use this great resource.

Great listening practice

This podcast provides very good listening practice for the newbie. I really appreciate that because some podcasts don't really have conversations, just vocabulary, and some have listening practice that is just too advanced for the newbie. Thanks, guys!
