I don’t really play video games at all but this pod is always a good listen when I’m at work. From the funny stories to the gaming insight that almost makes me wanna give gaming a try, I enjoy listening to these two baby bois!
Join two guys on different sides of the US get together to talk video games every Thursday. Topics can be anything including what we're playing, what we're excited about, our opinions on the current state of the gaming industry, and a ton more. Don't be confused though, we're not a news show and will never claim to be! Our goal is to talk about a topic we love, in a way that fellow gamers can relate, as well as way that people that don't play video games will find interesting!
Despite it being in the name, Player Player is not just a video game podcast. Sure, the main event is all about the latest gaming news and the hosts' opinions on various gaming topics, but in the end, it's really about two friends hanging out with great dynamics. It feels personal enough to feel like you are there with them as their friend. On the other hand, it also doensn't make you feel like you're invading their privacy or too many details are thrown at you for no good reason.
In other words, this is a great podcast for anyone who just wants to chill and listen in on two people being buds. Give it a try!
Fun to listen to and from work. Episodes have been funny so far
This is definitely one of my favorites! The hosts have a great dynamic and are very funny and interesting to listen to! They come up with super unique topics every week and I’m always excited to listen in! The co-host sounds pretty cute too so that’s a plus 🤪
So as requested in the podcast I’m leaving a review :) This is my first time listening, I love the name of the this podcast, catchy, simple, and clever! And also love the intro music.
There were a few reasons I gave 4 stars instead of 5. This is just simply constructive criticism coming from a first time listener, out of admiration for this podcast ♥️
First is the cohost his volume is so muted compared to Hoopman which is inconvenient for a podcast, also I didn’t understand his name so maybe that could be more clear.
There’s some of vagueness, like the cohost said “there’s a list of games coming out in 2019 but you just gotta trust me on that”. I think it’d be wise to have a list of all games coming out in 2019 and talk about them, not just listing some off the top of your head.
Also there are so many names of games being thrown around and some vague anecdotes describing your guys’ reaction to them. If you’re trying to appeal to everyone/more people, it’d be really beneficial to be more specific. Why did the game leave you feeling like the churro was better than the ride? What exactly? Can you give a little description of the game and gameplay?
Also there’s “you know what I’m saying or you'll know what I’m talking about if you listen to my podcast 20 podcasts ago” Well what if we don’t know? Haha give us a little more specificity about the games, the gameplay, and your reactions. Later there was talk about scalability of one of the games and that was really interesting! And the talk about the avengers game was more specific and pretty funny lol.
With all that said I like this podcast and I’ll tune in. Just keep in mind in the beginning you say you’re using this podcast to appeal to everyone, so being more specific and more constructed, i think you will appeal to more people.
Great job thanks for sharing your thoughts! ♥️
Awesome for doing work and keeping up with the latest gaming news. Good humor so it never gets boring. Hopefully the series keeps going. It can only go up from here :)
This podcast is truly one of the best gaming podcast I’ve heard on iTunes. I’m a casual gamer so I need a podcast that provides recommendations of which games to buy, new systems and just good overall vide game content. The player player podcast does this and more. Both host are hilarious with stories especially during the monthly countdown. Another great aspect about this podcast is every episode is different so you can truly learn more about video games as a whole. Definitely worth listening too!!
I listened to Player Player’s Switch podcast at the beginning of the year and found it well-produced, quick-paced, and funny. Joseph in particular is a great show host and makes for an engaging listen!
I don't listen to podcasts often since they bore me, but this one holds my interest like the federal government holds my student loans! I've never heard more intriguing and intersting conversation from anyone, not even my wife and kids. 10/10 would take out a bank loan to buy better speakers to hear the two baby boyz beautful boisterous voices in my ears with crisp quality. Thank you Player Player.
Do you like games? Do you like Joe Rogan or any popular podcast? That is great. Throw all of that in the trash. Because this podcast is now your favorite thing ever. Get ready to have your mind blown.
Exciting, funny, and always with the best topics, this is my favorite podcast! Discussing everything from Overcooked to the complexities of narrative, they deep dive into discussions while keeping everyone (gaming beginners —-> gaming veterans) engaged. I personally never played video games before I started listening and now have a deep appreciation for them. These guys are awesome, definitely worth the listen every week. And the audio quality is fantastic
I wasn’t into video games at all before listening to this, but these guys offer a smart and funny take on video games and video game culture that is entertaining and accessible to someone like me. I learn something new every week!
These guys are pretty funny in addition to having pretty solid commentary about games every week. Also the audio quality on the episodes is always solid.
If you remember games, movies, and tv shows from your childhood in the ‘90s-‘00s, you’ll enjoy these podcasts. A great tie into current games as well.
