The host is a fantastic story teller, and hilarious! I especially love the stories from Celtic folklore. I can’t wait to hear more!
A podcast telling some of the famous and not so famous myths, legends, stories and folklore of the British Isles in a haphazard order.
Coming direct from South Yorkshire it is currently regularish, and will feature all of the above and whatever other miscellaneous snippets take my fancy
Restorative to my soul like a hot cup of coco after walking for hours in a winter storm.
I listen to many podcasts but this has become my favorite! The Storyteller is engaging and has a perfect voice and tone for the stories. The stories are amazing as well! I just finished listening to ‘The Enchanter of P....’. Absolutely loved it!
Interesting stories, and the narrator has a pleasant voice to listen to. I look forward to new episodes!
I tuned in to get into the Halloween spirit and this episode was perfect. I will be listening to the rest of the episodes. Keep up the good work.
I thoroughly enjoy the stories as well as the flair of the storyteller! Keep up the good work!
This may be the best podcast voice I’ve ever heard! The stories are great- classic... but with some interjected commentary. I addicted. I wish there were many more!
Just brilliant. Do yourself a favor and download an episode, then another and another...
I’ve just discovered Tales of the British Isles and I really love it! The narrators voice is very soothing. The way he reads along with his explanations and his wit are engaging. The stories combined with his voice make me want to cuddle down in front of a fire with a cup of hot chocolate, blankets, pillows and lay there and listen.
I have really been enjoying the stories in this podcast. Excellent wit and humor really make this podcast stand out for storytelling.
I LOVE this podcast! Just the right antidote to today's crazy world and politics. The storytelling is witty and engaging. To the person in charge: take your time getting the episodes out, they are well worth the wait, just keep them coming!
Just started with the 1st of the London episodes. Exceptional! These are stories that I've not heard before told with perfect pacing, just the right touch of mirth, and music which enhances the telling. We hear a bit of interesting context (not too much, just right) at the start.
Any Dialogue included in the narrative enriching it all.
This is the Goldilocks of Storytelling poscasts:
I had never even heard of British Mythology, so a starter for even the nerdiest mythology-lovers like me.
Randomly found this podcast and it is great. There is one story in the church episode the at the end the narrator is not sure what to make of a church being moved by a large black cat if that is one of the original stories the “cat” is most likely Cat Sith or Cat Sidhe a faire created from Celtic mythology. Just wanted to put that out there as a reference to a mythical/ magical cat that can move building through faire magic
I just happened upon this podcast and decided to give it a listen— what a fortuitous chance! This is absolute pure delight and I recommend it heartily!
