Podcast Host: Founder of Baseball and Business and former college player, Luke Melms
I’ve known Luke for going on 10 yrs now and was actually introduced to him by Brad Marshall, who was on Episode 16 (great episode of you haven’t listened to it yet). Luke is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met and he has found a way to join two of his (and his followers) passions... Baseball & Business. The topics are always great, the guests are always on point with the topic and it’s always a well rounded podcast. Follow Baseball & Business... it’s a must!
I have talked with Luke both on the phone and via LinkedIn, and he has always been helpful. The content has been great and relates well to things I work through every day as a ballplayer trying to work my way through my business career!
I commend Luke for starting this group/podcast with the purpose of helping former and current baseball players reach their full potential. There’s a lot to be learned from these former players stories and how they relate to your own life. While the show is geared towards baseball players, it can be insightful and educational for anyone.
Had the chance to do an episode with Luke..great guy! Excited to see him and the podcast start to take off!
Luke drives home the point that we can’t play ball forever. This show is all about highlighting the skills learned from playing sports (particularly baseball; hence the title) and applying them to a business environment. Whether you have the entrepreneurial spirit or a back office personality, there is something here for you. There are positive take aways from each episode that will help you regardless of the stage of life you’re in.
Luke, I want to thank you for having Jim as a guest on episode 7. Like Jim, I have made plenty of mistakes as an entrepreneur and this episode has plenty of valuable information for seasoned entrepreneurs. The agony Jim spoke about as an entrepreneur is a brutal reality we must face as business owners. Though out of each agony are vital lessons.
One last thing, I am far from the baseball industry; I am a wedding industry professional but I recommend the Baseball and Business podcast to anyone in business! Jim, congratulations on your venture and I wish you the best.
