It has been almost one year since I started listening to Pints, so my review is horribly over due. I was listening to Catholic Stuff You Should Know, and Fr. Mike recommended listening to Pints with Aquinas- and I'm so grateful I listened to his advice. Matt Fradd is so enjoyable to listen to, and I feel like I am learning about our faith from a friend in Christ every episode. In my own spiritual journey, Matt has helped me marry faith, reason, and humor through the writings of St. Thomas. I am so thankful to be part of this Pints community!

Matt Fradd brings the Angelic Doctor to life in a very digestible way. I like to listen to these snippets of wisdom with a serving of whiskey. Perfect for anyone that is moved to live in the intellectual life of the Church.

Very down to earth way to consume Aquinas and Catholic teaching!

The Dumb Ox has a reputation for being tedious and difficult - not entirely undeservedly so. In part it can be due to translation but in larger part it is the structure of writing. Pints With Aquinas - and Matt Fradd specifically - while reading Aquinas, in part, puts the knowledge and wisdom of the Angelic Doctor into a format that is accessible to pretty much anyone. But most importantly it is done in such a way devoid of pretense. This reminds me very much of the types of conversations I had with my peers and with professors studying philosophy as an undergrad... Love it!! A must subscribe podcast!!

I am very glad that I found Matt and his Pints with Aquinas podcast. He makes me laugh and he makes me think. Can't get better than that!

I was born and raised up as a Syro Malabar Catholic. I love learning more and more of our faith in theology...have had the thirst for learning more since the start of 8th grade. I came across this resource just last week. I have learned so much from the lens of St. Thomas Aquinas... to be honest, I only knew he is a Doctor of the Church, but I did not know who he really was and like what he did and teach. Thank you so much!

This podcast does such a good job of explaining what Catholicism teaches, and how to convey that to others in a meaningful and charitable way. Great combination of intellectual discourse and humor. Matt's presentations on logic and proper argumentation are especially helpful, particularly for someone like me who struggles to do that effectively.

Plus, Matt's accent is pleasant to listen to, and makes him sound smart. :)

This has become one of my favorite podcasts over the past few weeks. Although I am a Reformed Baptist, the hosts are incredibly considerate of their Protestant listeners. I have learned so much about Aquinas and the Catholic Church through this podcast and look forward to future episodes. Highly recommend!

I've heard many recommendations for this podcast and have not been let down. The length is great for discussions of each topic and he really dives right into the meat of the question right away. The Summa has always intimidated me, but this podcast is a great way to approach this important work without being completely overwhelmed. It's incredible how these questions that were posed almost 800 years ago are still so relevant today. It speaks to the common human experience. Maybe our issues aren't as novel as we all think.

It gives answers, laughs, and deep philosophical thoughts.

Matt Fradd has made Thomism both approachable and personal through this podcast. He breaks down some of the most abstract concepts in a way that average people who lack degrees in philosophy or theology (like myself) can understand. What's more is that he does this in a very personal way, relating the teachings of Aquinas to his own life and offering insight on how the listener might incorporate them into his/her own. I started listening just recently and have gone back to listen to previous episodes with great satisfaction. It's an excellent podcast, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to live a more virtuous life.

For anyone interested in philosophy, theology, or St. Thomas Aquinas, this is an outstanding podcast to subscribe to. Matt Fradd does an excellent job of walking the listener through Aquinas' writings and explaining how they apply the given subject of each podcast.

I've always been interested in learning more from the angelic doctor, but I've never felt confident in going it alone. Matt Fradd presents the works of St. Thomas in an accessible, humorous, and greatly relevant way. Bravo!

Makes Aquinas' complex ideas understandable but not dumbed down in an entertaining podcast.

Matt Fradd does an incredible job of simplifying one of the greatest minds in the history of the Church. This is an excellent podcast for those wanting to learn more about St. Thomas, the Catholic Church, or God in general. It has helped me in so many ways and I absolutely recommend it to everyone.

I am blessed to have seen Matt speak quite a few times in person, and this podcast does not fall short. Charismatic, personable, and highly relatable, Fradd talks about seemingly daunting questions with the use of the CCC, Summa Theologica, and many more sources. This is my favorite podcast & is such a beneficial tool to learning Catholic theology and tradition (and it is so entertaining!).

I came across Pints with Aquinas via a Reddit recommendation. My first listen was Episode 57, "What does it mean to say that God's essence is existence? With Fr. Damian Ference". This episode figurately blew my mind. I enjoyed it so much I listened to it three times to make sure I understood everything that was said. I don't think I ever listened to a podcast epsidoe twice let alone three times.

Matt Fradd is absolutely amazing at walking through St Aquinas's works in a way that touches us Catholics who want an academic take on our faith. He helps prove that Catholicism is intellectualism.

Can't wait to finish the back catalog of older episodes.

I originally sought out this podcast to use as a sleep aid thinking that the writings of Aquinas would put me right out. Well, after listening to the first few podcasts I experienced the exact opposite effect. Not only does Matt make Aquinas totally accessible, he also makes him a little entertaining. I look forward to listening to the episodes every week, and some I have listened to several times, particularly #41.5 and 42. Thanks Matt, for being a faithful disciple and for inspiring others to drink more while learning about their faith. :)

One thing I love about the Catholic Faith is how rich, deep, logical, and true it is! Matt Fradd in PWA doesn't shy away from difficult topics and he takes the time to translate for us budding theologians and philosophers. I have been listening to this podcast for a few weeks. It is super interesting. Thomas Aquinas is someone we should all know so we can defend our faith.

I could listen to this podcast all day. It discusses a fantastic variety of topics, so the episodes never get too monotonous, and I'm always excited to find out what the next one will be about. Matt Fradd really knows how to convey and explain complex theological concepts, even to an audience with little prior knowledge in that area. I listen to a number of Catholic podcasts, and of those, Pints with Aquinas is hands down the one that most consistently provides me with valuable information that helps me grow in my faith, while still keeping me thoroughly interested and entertained.

Matt's explanations of Saint Thomas' often heady concepts are approachable and understandable, without being dumbed down. The podcast challenges without intimidating, explains without dumbing down . That's no mean feat.

I discovered this podcast while listening to The Jennifer Fulwiler Show on the Catholic channel.

This podcast serves as an introduction to Thomas Aquinas - with very small, well explained nuggets of the saint's wisdom. Matt makes Aquinas understandable and relevant. I found it enjoyable during my morning commute.

... according to Mr Spock. Proverbs suggests otherwise, of course, but this podcast offers sufficient quantities of both logic and reverent "fear of the Lord" to help one grow in wisdom and understanding of Catholic teaching. A thought-provoking but spirited presentation weekly to appeal to the intellectual side of faith.

I love how Matt take the time to teach philosophy and theology, taking Aquinas to a popular level, without actually dumbing it down. I enjoy Emma's music as well.

It's about time Matt Fradd got himself a podcast! He's a very intelligent man and a very balanced Catholic. Catholic or not, you'll enjoy listening. To balance out the Dominican philosophy presence with classic Franciscan philosophy. I suggest a spin off titled A Beer with Bonaventure or Spirits with Duns Scotus. But whatever you do, don't move into Jesuit philosophy aka heresy.

I can't remember where I heard of this podcast, but am so very glad I did. Excellent, fresh, and engaging!

One of my favorite opportunities to listen to podcasts is while I run or cycle. Now that my first year of seminary philosophy is over, I am taking up running and cycling more often. I am grateful for having stumbled upon this podcast as it is awesome for listening while exercising and experiencing nature.

Pints with Aquinas has been a great complement to what I learned and will continue learning in seminary studies. The episodes are enjoyable and accessible and reiterate some very important points in our Catholic faith as well as some common talking points in inter-religious and extra-religious dialogue. Certainly will share this with my classmates and friends.

Great podcast. The episodes are in good, consumable 20 minute bits. Matt knows his stuff and while it's difficult to convey the Summa in understandable terms, he does a good job bringing to a level where the listener can approach the Angelic Doctor.

Matt does a fantastic job not only at presenting the thoughts of The Angelic Doctor in a way all can understand, but also in introducing us to philosophy. I definitely recommend this to everybody young and old.

I was a philosophy major in a Jesuit college where we studied plenty of Aristotle and some Aquinas. I'm in med school now, so I don't get much time for philosophy and theology studies, but this is the perfect mix of levity and gravity to understand the wise Angelic Doctor and the Philosopher. I've heard Matt speak live, and this podcast certainly does not disappoint! Thank you for your work!

The Summa is a tough read that Matt is able to break down and make easily understandable!

Complex theology made easy to understand.

Matt does a great job at presenting Aquinas fairly and clearly. As a Presbyterian pastor, I disgaree with plenty of Aquinas' (and RCC) positions, but I find myself understanding Aquinas and his Summa Theologica better each time I listen to this podcast, and not once being disparaged as a protestant. Matt has been fair, to say the least. I have listened to the first five podcasts and I have been edified and encouraged. All Christians should hear from Aquinas.

I love the intellectual nature of reasoned and philosophical approaches to the Faith. Our faith is so much more than just emotions and slogans...although those things can have their place. Our faith is the faith with deep roots in philosophy and reason and it is time for all those in the church to learn to defend basic questions that doubters/skeptics may have.

As a soon to be novice for the Order of Preachers I am a deep admirer of St. Thomas. Matt does a great job relating his material to all searching to understand why this man is the Universal Doctor. Aquinas, often seen as too abstract, has an incredible amount of practical reasons to becoming a saint. Matt will show you this if you subscribe!

This is a delightful way to get into St. Thomas Aquinas. I am a "Catholic Nerd" and I will be suggesting all my other Catholic nerd friends give this a listen. Matt Fradd has injected humor and exitement into a subject that is often spoken about in a rather dry manner.
