NPR used to be my favorite media outlet. I knew I could go there to get unbiased information. However, it appears that NPR as a whole has given themselves a pass to pedal for approval from the mainstream garbage media. This transformation by NPR on its face it troubling...but the fact that NPR is paid by takes payer dollars makes is corrupt.
Lastly, it’s pretty clear where all the NPR reports stand politically, but Tamara Keith, please quit NPR and start an opinions blog. I can tell you are sharp but your journalism is so riddled with your opinion I don’t think you can reasonably call yourself a journalist.

I love this show and adore every person who presents on it. I I can only imagine how hard it would be to create something so simultaneously rigorous, funny, and poignant while also adhering to high journalistic standards/ethics. This is one of the many reasons why I support my local public radio (WABE)! Thanks for continuing to provide the caramelized vegetable course of my podcast menu. I listen to the sugary stuff, too, but without y’all, I would def have political scurvy 😆

As a confused voter, I was hoping to look at NPR to report an unbiased perspective of the election/debates. Listen to every episode and try to find ONE solid positive comment or ONE journalist that is able to avoid siding with Biden. So sad. I dislike both candidates and have only found a handful of truly unbiased reporting. Shameful NPR. I am not longer a donator/supporter/listener of any of your news outlets

I enjoy listening to many of the hosts, so I’m sorry to have to write this review. I find this show quite slanted in its coverage and it’s only gotten worse over the past year or so. I’m neither conservative nor a Republican and I didn’t vote for Trump, but the left-wing slant is still too cringey for me to handle anymore. Maybe it’s just that the hosts and producers are drawn from left-wing circles and they don’t realize that they’re one-sided.

Been listening to this podcast since it launched during the 2016 presidential campaign. This is some of the best condensed political podcasting out there. I don’t have time to listen to hours of analysis, but the NPR Politics podcast hits the major stories quickly, concisely, and with a fair amount of good humor. Folks who think this is a biased podcast have fallen for the myth of mainstream media bias.

You’re a tolerable left-leaning source, which would be fine if my tax dollars weren’t funding you. Please do better. Listen to independent commentators and journalists on both sides. It’s not my job to fact check you and I consistently find you to be days behind on your information. It’s either because your not doing your due diligence, or you’re happy to ignore new information that doesn’t fit your preconceived notions. Candidly, I want you to be a better left of center resource to complement my center right resources.
Getting to be kind of a joke. It’s like your staff said, “so we’re just gonna watch CNN, but remember we’re tax payer funded so we gotta dull down the bias a little bit and hope no one notices. If you’re a listener and still think Trump hasn’t condemned white supremacy, please look it up for yourself instead of taking these folks’ word for it. He’s got plenty of other problems to call out. No need to lie about him.
Still listening. It’s getting tougher though. You’re regularly behind on information. Get someone to at least try and play devil’s advocate every so often if you’re not gonna have any conservative guests (which would be better). Still just a distilled CNN/MSNBC

Jesus Christ, some of the reviews here are utterly insufferable. Hey, to those who think it is biased: These people cannot turn their brains off to cover these topics. If the guy’s an idiot, they’ll call it fairly. Heard Mara Liasson last week say Harris was an underdog to Pence in VP debate. Was floored by that perspective. BTW, to those moaning: There’s not two sides. There’s at least 28. Trump’s a mess and these folks have to report the facts.

This podcast has been a regular staple of mine for quite some time now, in addition to Up First. The commentary and reporting on this podcast is is phenomenal, and the hosts do a wonderful job of breaking down the most current topics in politics in a way that is easy for any listener to grasp. There’s seriousness on the day-to-day topics, but also a bit of laughter — most of which comes from one of my favorite parts of the show, which is a weekly bit called “Can’t Let it Go.”
Overall, a top-notch podcast that any political junky should have in their news rotation.

It is easy to fall behind in today’s news cycle, but the NPR Politics pod keeps me informed and up to date. Daily Podcasts.
But the news isn’t everything. The hosts put things into perspective while entertain the audience along the way. Every podcast starts with a brief timestamp where listeners from around the world send in a recording. Also, listening on Fridays is a must for their comprehensive weekly roundup, which also features the segment “Can’t Let it Go,” where the hosts discuss the things “they can’t stop thinking about, politics or otherwise.”
The hosts are like those teachers who make learning fun. They do a great job educating you, in a comprehensive way but still have great banter. Brief but thorough.
Five stars for sure.

After listening to this podcast for a year, I had to unsubscribe as the bias and dishonesty has gotten to be blatantly obviously in the recent months. Many people may just dismiss me as a Trump supporter which I’m not. I simply expect an objective news organization to tell me the truth and try to be fair. When addressing a significant increase in homicides in 2020 in this podcast, they literally conclude that its “okay” since overall violence is down. Today (10/8/20) was the last straw after Mara repeated the most recent lie against Trump that he was “reluctant to condemn white supremacy in the first debate with Joe Biden”. Any person who watches the clip can clearly hear the president respond “sure” with no hesitation when asked if he would tell white supremacy groups to “stand down.” Trump said give me a name and Biden throws out Proud Boys and Trump immediately says “stand back and stand by”, which when taken in context of the whole exchange is an obvious attempt to tell them to “stand down” as was specifically asked by the moderator. Regardless of whether you think Trump is racist or not, an objective news organization should not be taking sides let alone pushing a questionable accusation as fact.

Deference to Detail

I find it curious that your reporting stated that the President’s campaign was eager to show him “hard at work” at Walter Reed Hospital; yet you failed to report the fact that he was simply signing his name with a black sharpie on a blank piece of paper.
That kind of detail would not be biased reporting. Anyone with eyes can see that fact. Yet, your report would make it seem that the President could have been “hard at work” despite his condition.
This is sloppy journalism. We’re at a moment in this nation’s history that NPR should be bold in their ability to clarify the reality of an unhinged administration.
Stop walking on eggshells.

How sad it is that Trump supporters are coming here to attack NPR, the most respected source of journalism on radio. People writing about how Trump has condemned white supremacy already (we all watched the debates and saw his statements for what it was). People writing racist remakes about journalists of color on NPR, saying they don’t like their voice. I respect that you all have different political opinions, but the junk you listen to, what you consider news, isn’t even anything close to journalism. You’re being brainwashed without even realizing it.

The faux objectivity, aka the hosts just searching for instances to “both sides” every single thing, is everything that’s wrong with the political discourse in this country. It has been very disappointing to see how far NPR has gone downhill with this.
