First, let me say that Josh Stewart is an amazing actor. He's committed and inhabits every role I've seen him portray. He never hits a false note. His performance as Arkin really helps carry the film along with the incredibly slick filming, editing, and killer soundtrack. The opening credits totally set the tone of the film at the very beginning. The tension was maintained throughout the film and frights were contained in every room of this house of horrors. The director did an excellent, creative job of creating set pieces for the various ways the killer had rigged the house. The killer himself was a masterful creation... Disturbing, mysterious, playful in a brutal way, and indestructible. I forgot to breathe for 90 minutes because of the tension contained in this expertly made thriller. Yes, it is graphic and bloody, but WOW! What a great, fun scary movie filled with incredible visuals and soundtrack. This will sound odd, but I was reminded (maybe just a hint) of "The Abominable Dr. Phibes" and "Dr. Phibes Rises Again." Kudos to all the actors and crew of this contemporary masterpiece of horror!
