Heath Ledger was absolutely incredible and so was everything he did leading up to the movie including the whole joker diary. I love him so much and miss him everyday. May he rest in peace. Wonderful movie :)

This is a classic! 9 years later, with a plethora of comic book adaptions that have flooded the movie market -- some good, most lukewarm -- this movie this tops my list of best mainstream comic book hero motion picture adaption. Keath Ledger's The Joker, as all have mentioned, is exceptional. I fear we will not see his caliber of villain, not merely in the comic book genre, in a generation. Worth owning in your personal digital movie vault!

This movie is stellar on so many levels and not just Heath Ledger's memorable portrayal as the Joker. The cinematography, script, writing, acting, cast, action sequences and just overall everything in this movie are amazing and nothing less than perfect.

The Dark Knight in my opinion is already a film classic and could possibly be in the top 15 films ever made. The eerie take on Batman is something never seen in entertainment, and it's exciting. It has a bigger characters, plot, bigger action scenes, bigger everything. This sequel is just pure awesome and is more thrill packed and interesting than the trilogy's first and last films. The Dark Knight offers great characterization, with Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox and Heath Ledger's best performance ever, the Joker. Heath Ledger's Joker is the best Joker to ever be on screen, being dark, frightening, and truly demented. Ledger shows what real insanity is like, and he does it good. Heath Ledger's Joker could possibly be, the best insane character in film history. He is just truly messed up in the head. Heath Ledger did a great job and I think it is in the top 5 best performances in film history. I give The Dark Knight a 99/100%.

A great superhero film. With a thrilling cast, brooding atmosphere and less-comic elements make this film as a hit of the summer, maybe is one of the best superhero film of all time, ahead of Logan

I wasn't able to see the film in theaters but was able to see it on DVD when it was released. I must say, Christopher Nolan has truly blown us away with this film. From the introduction if the joker to the credits, this film will leave you on the edge of your seat, hungry for some more Batman action!

This is a great, entertaining, exciting, awesome movie. I like this movie a lot. I like Batman as one of my all time favorite super heroes ever. I don't like joker at all though. But of course Batman defeats him as always and it is one of my all time favorite super hero movies ever.

Wow. Just wow. Ignore all the 1 star reviews because this is the greatest movie I have ever seen. It has maxing acting, next level action, and an impressive plot. So much awesomeness in one movie.

Everything you have heard about this movie is true. The Dark Knight is a phenomenal film. The shots are spectacular, the music is pulse-quickening, the action is riveting, and the acting is great. Christian Bale is a very believable Batman who lacks the silliness of some of the other Batman films, making him much better. He is elevated by great actors like Morgan Freeman and Micheal Cane but the best peformance in the film is given by Heath Ledger, who’s unforgettable turn as the Joker will be remembered as one of the great performances of our time. The film brims with tension and dark atmosphere and you will be riveted for the whole time. This movie is a definite buy.

This movie is all over the place and pretty much a bore. Regardless of what the reviews are, I say don't waste your time. I didn't even bother to watch the ending.

Heath Ledger delivered one of the greatest acting performances ever as the Joker. Some lines and scenes will leave you shivering with goosebumps and you may actually root for the villain in this film. Even though Christian Bale's Batman is an incredibly righteous and a perfect adaptation from the comics. If you ever see a super hero movie, make it this one.

First off, Christopher Nolan is the genius behind it all. Don't forget that he directed and wrote Heath Ledger to what I personally think is the best acting job of all time. Second off, the film draws almost complete originality, taking only the best themes from the comics and incorporating them into the film. Third off, the plot is much more realistic compared to other superhero movies, which gives it a much more raw power to deliver its message. Last but not least, there are no plot holes. It's the perfect movie. The dialogue is never cheesy but makes you smile at how triumphant this film is in sheer authenticity. Christopher Nolan truly does respect his audience, and has crafted what could be the best film ever made.

This movie is the ultimate Batman movie. It captures the essence of Batman and the Joker so well, and stands on it's own for people who know nothing about Batman. My only complaint is that the Joker's makeup, although definitely cool, was not representative of the Joker. Still, that should not dissuade you from seeing this marvelous movie.

I absolutely love this movie. It has everything you could ask for in a superhero movie but more. Everything was great, the acting, the script, the action. All of this put at an excellent pace. But I would be crazy not to mention Heath Ledger. He truly captured the insanity of the Joker and deserves to be applauded. He deserved more than one Oscar. Christian Bale is also an excellent Batman. This movie could easily be considered one of my favorites. Fans of Batman WILL NOT be disappointed.

To me, this was one of the best movies I have ever seen. The acting, the mystery, the excitement, etc. Of all of the superhero movies, this is one of my favorite.

As I was watching SvB in the theaters this past week, I couldn't stop thinking what a masterful movie The Dark Knight was and still is. This movie was well casted, well performed, the story was riveting, minimal cgi usage, and stunning cinematography. This should be the reference point in which all and future super hero movies should be showcased. Thank you for such an awesome movie!!! A wonderful reminder as to why we as human love to be told a story.

I recently rented this movie and loved it! The action is good and Heath ledger does a great job as The Joker. I really recommend this movie!

Going in, I didn't think that it was going to be good. But I defiantly enjoyed this movie. The storyline was incredible and both villains were great (Aaron Eckhart was an amazing Two-Face). Also, this movie wasn't as dark as everyone makes it out to be. Overall, I certainty enjoyed this movie. Defiantly a must see.

I've seen reviews from the dark knight rises and people have complained that the dark knight rises doesn't change aspect ratios for the selected imax scenes like the dark knight did. however, the dark knight stays at a uniform ratio (2.35) throughout the whole movie (at least mine does). did iTunes do something to make the aspect ratio uniform recently?

This movie is better than any batman I’ve ever seen! fantastic plot, cast and director!!!

When I hear the word villain the first thing that comes to mind is the joker. Heath Ledger was spectacular as the joker, he really made the joker come to life. When ever he was on the screen I could not take my eyes off it. And when I found out he had died soon after the movie hit theaters I did feel bad that he truly became the joker. It will be hard for anyone to rise the bar even higher that he did ever. Another thing I enjoyed was the righteousness of this movie. The fact that batman would rather be blamed for the death of 5 people and Harvey dent, than watch Gotham fall into corruption. That's a true sacrifice.

This is my favorite movie ever. The acting and directing are incredible, but the performance by Heath Ledger was so amazing that I can't find a word to describe it. His performance made me feel myself rooting for the joker to beat batman. To prepare for the role he locked himself in a hotel room for a month, to perfect the voice, the walk, and he even made his own makeup for the role. Once he died, Nolan almost didn't make a third Dark Knight, because he wouldn't be able to have Heath Ledger play The Joker. When I heard that there could have have been another Dark Knight with the Joker I was devastated. I have probably watched this movie 20 times this year, it is incredible.

Nolan makes batman back into a detective and makes a successful blend between crime drama and action movie, with only a facade of a batman movie.

The Dark Knight is a fast paced, action epic that is sure to please any action fan. Let's be honest, the pressure on Christopher Nolan was unbelievable after the jaw dropping epic, Batman Begins, and Nolan crushed it in scale. With unbelievable performances by Bale, Eckhart, and Ledger, this movie soars above any movie recently made. And also, the Joker is easily the best portrayed supper villain in any movie ever. And with Hans Zimmer's outstanding sound track, the Dark Knight should be in every movie lovers library.

Well acted, but the script is not worthy of the talent needed to create this film. Color grade seems to be nonexistent on my monitor, even with contrast set at it mushiest. All that was done in post is lost and the end result is film school grade video.

I bought it once and rented it three times, and it still won't play. What do I do!?

This movie is my favorite film and there are several reasons why. For starters the acting was very impressive from Heath Ledger (Joker) and Christian Bale (Batman). They stayed very true to there characters which made an epic good vs evil plot. The action was great with some amazing stunts and one of the best car chases. To tie this all together was a great soundtrack that was a mix between fast action and emotional like music. The best thing is the plot. I don't want to say much about the plot but take my word it's amazing and you will never regret watching this film !!!

This is the greatest movie ever!

I've been a comic book fan/collector for over 20 years now and with all due respect to Tim Burton, this was the best interpretation of Batman ever made. This film doesn't just go above and beyond as a comic book movie, it shatters all expectations of an action/drama/thriller film in general. While DC Comics struggles to get their other characters a decent showing on the silver screen(excluding perhaps Man of Steel. I still don't understand the hate for this movie), their grim poster boy for justice got exactly what he deserved.

This is my all time favorite movie. Heath Ledger's performance was incredible. I strongly recommend this for any superhero fan or anyone else.

The one singular thing I loved more than anything about this film was Heath Ledger’s performance as The Joker. The one thing that touches me about his performance is that he was so into his character, he couldn’t get out, and so he became the Joker. He WAS the best Joker I’ve ever seen. I have great respect for Nicholson’s Joker as well, but for Nolan’s Batman, Ledger was the best. This film, all in all, was a great second chapter to the trilogy and it sits proudly in my iTunes film collection.
