Description

REINCARNATED documents the life and career of Calvin Broadus Jr, from his days as a young hustler in Long Beach, to his ascent to international icon Snoop Dogg - through the ups and downs, including the loss of his best friends Tupac and Nate Dogg. Snoop's life has always attracted controversy, though perhaps never more so than after his recent decision to reinvent himself as Snoop Lion. During a trip to Jamaica to record a new reggae-influenced album with Major Lazer, Snoop immerses himself in Jamaican culture, from the backstreets of the crime-ridden Tivoli Gardens to the secret marijuana farms of the Blue Mountains. But it is during an epic baptism from high priests of the Nyabinghi Rastafarian Order that Snoop finds the ultimate high.

So I take it that this is not about how Snoopy started working out and did some normal positive things that normal people do... Just basing that on the cover

Just another attempt for a old celeb to get money again. That's great if he THINKS he's found the way, but all I see is snoop needs more popularity and attention. I work too hard for my money to waste it on watching a Hollywood oldie try to be on top again.

Best documentary!

I've read some of the comments here and I don't the age ranges of some of the commenters but as Snoop once said a while back " you've got to go through it to get to it" with that being said, just looking back on his life and those who have gone through trying and turbulent times I'm glad to see that he has EVOLVED as a man with a newfound purpose in life and I hope that all of you on this message board will oneday EVOLVE into something positive and hopefully go through it to get to your higher purposes in life.
Jah bless Snoop Lion

I'd have given this 2 stars instead of 3 if I wasn't such a big Snoop (as well as Diplo/Major Lazer) fan. As much as I wanted to like it, the whole thing comes off as a contrived vanity project that focuses on 24/7 weed smoking as opposed to anything particularly interesting. Though there are probably a few solid tracks on there, the majority of what they played from the album seems overproduced (with Snoop's singing auto tuned?) with most lyrics not even written by Snoop but by a team of song writers. And sorry, but one afternoon walking around Trench Town with a police escort surrounded by a crowd of fans doesn't suddenly mean you've tapped into the essence of Bob Marley. Finally, anybody who has seen the truly excellent Bob Marley doc can tell that Bunny Wailer is teetering on the brink of sanity (and still bitter about leaving the Wailers right before they really blew up) and is hardly the gold standard as far as wisdom and life philosophy is concerned. C'mon Snoop, you're better than this.

Does the movie come with the soundtrack?

I just don't buy this reggae, rasta 4 week conversion. I do get that Mr Dogg likes his spliff. The message is spliff first, music later. Please don't mention him & Bob Marley in the same sentence.

This is a good movie. I really wasn't sure what I was going to see. Snoop gives the story of a lot of people like him and me who have lived a certain type of life out of necessity and got through it. When you live like that you end up at a certain point where its not enough anymore..A lot of you reading this might not think its a big deal..because KNOWLEDGE was never withheld from you so you never had to live a certain way. When it becomes clear that everything you know and have been told is a lie and that your friends are dying because of it..you start to feel a certain way. I personally feel any MAN will respect this story..boys will try to say something funny.
