What happened to it in Netflix. l love this movie, but then it got kicked out of Netflix. I used to watch this movie all the time and wrong with this movie in Netflix.

It was a very good movie, good plot, good characters, good a lot of things but that's my opinion probably cause it was similar to halo and I love halo

I think I may have liked this version better than the live action film! I loved the troops battle armor they wore too. The first film had some intended campy propaganda commercials which I would have liked to have seen a bit more of. But really it didn’t need much of anything, lots of action beautiful girls (even though they weren’t real. Shame) The ships designs were awesome. Of course the voice acting could always be better but hey what more can you ask for. If you liked the original your gonna love this!! Plus its not Halo or any other video game, although I would like to see some Video games come out for this. It would put that lame Halo series out of biz.

Be aware that this is not a movie with good live actors, but rather superb voice actors with amazing CG characters that outperform live ones. The trailer and advertising are very indicative of this at first glance, which is why I'm going with 5 stars. So if you were expecting this to be like the first Starship Troopers then you might be very satisfied against your initial doubts. The first movie was all CG except for the cheesy acting. It's done right this time. Rating it one star just because you wanted live action is almost like walking into a bar and asking for hot tea and then posting a bad Yelp review because of you didn't get it.

The amazing looking armored suits and the powered armor suit for heavy caliber combat and orbital drop are all in there. Plenty of death, mayhem, and some bare skin just like the first movie. The character design fall short of RE: Damnation, but all in all THE BEST Starship Troopers adaptation yet. So it's CG. And yes it's not an Oscar or Academy candidate. But a hardcore Starship Troopers action movie with rather high production value it is.

Worth the money. This is an action packed movie and in my opinion a far better movie than the previous two sequels. It doesn't have many underlying messages or themes like the first one but the plot makes sense and the action sequences are on par or better.

The animation style took a second to get used to but after that I was immersed.

I find it soooo funny all these people that say they can't tell from the preview that this was computer animation and then go on to say that they were surprised the movie was terrible and crappy animation.

Add to the fact that the cover art is animation and all the live action movies have real people on them lead me to believe that most of these reviewers are fans of the orginal book, getting up there in age, and are kind of out of touch.

The movie delivers exactly what it is supposed to. Mindless fun computer generated action and on this it delivers.

If you are a fan of other animated movies like the Batman ones or the two Resident Evil CGI movies then you will like this.

Sorry, but the trailer looked animated to me, so no complaints there. The nudity in the beginning could have been an homage to the shower scene in the first movie, but they over did it with multiple unrelated scenes. The story line wasn't horrible, but it just didn't feel like anyone put much effort into it. Overall, barely worth the rental, and not worth a purchase.

I bought this movie only because I bought all of the others including the series. I loved the series. I also loved the book. I did not have high hopes for this as 2 & 3 were not the best. I watched them while doing something else on the computer. I was gonna do the same with this one. However, when it first starts up and I was able to see the detail of the armor. I was like oh boy and was glued to the screen for the entire movie.

Yes, I was expecting real life actors but was glad it was not. It's too expensive to go that route and you end up with a somewhat so so movie on a low budget. Sure I'll take a real life movie if it can be done on a Lukas budget. But we can't all have what we want.

I'm just glad the series is still alive and I look forward to more of this.

I'm generally skeptical of 3D animation movies, unless it's some kind of cartoon, like Shrek or Madagascar. But I have to confess: I LOVED this movie! The graphics is great! Although the animation can get rather... doll-like, on a rare occasion, overall you forget that it's not real actors in just a few moments after the movie starts.

Of all the Starship Troopers movies, this one easily is the best!

I'm a fan of the original Starship Troopers movie, really didn't like the sequels very much. So when I seen this come available on iTunes I wasn't too sure whether or not to spend the money to watch it. However, I decided to buy it after reading a few reviews. The movie was great! Was definitely worth watching.

Plenty of non-stop bug killing action and some decent voice acting. I would recommend at least renting this movie!

It was a huge improvement from the last 2 sequels, definitely rivals the original movie. Just be aware that it isn't real acting, it's CGI. Definitely well done though!

This is a CGI movie. The advertising doesn't mention this anywhere and you can't easily tell from the trailer, which leads me to believe this was on purpose since the movie is so bad that they probably thought nobody would watch it if they realized it was animation. I loved the first and third movie so I was excited to see another one was out, but I stopped watching this one half way through. It's not work even the 4 bucks.

Not real!!!

I enjoyed this movie and even considered buying it to add to my very modest movie collection. I would've given it 5 stars but I'm sick and tired of all the cookie cutter characters and regurgitated cliches. Please tell me why characters in these types of movies have to make a stupid speech while fighting for their lives instead of just trying to kill the enemy and possibly save their lives!?

I liked the first starship troopers but HATED all other sequels. This one was absolutely GREAT with a twist here and there. Was put off that it was DGI initially but once I got into it (about 3 minutes in . . . it was a great ride!

I hate to knock a movie down for this reason, but after scouring my options for watching a movie tonight, finally choosing this one, and then downloading it to my iPad, only to learn that this movie is animated and not live action, which is not explained in the movie description or even the preview, I feel I have to so that others don't make the same mistake. Sorry.

Based on other reviewer'e favorable comparisons to the original I decided to give this a try. I was terribly disappointed for several reasons. The animation was stiff, the script was dull, and the plot was not just predictable but comparable to that of a Saturday morning cartoon. If you want something to watch while you eat your fruit loops this is passable. If you want to be engaged this is a waste of your time and money.

This story seems like it was written from/for a 14 year old boy. Every moment is cheesy. So many things wrong with how this is written. This is just one bad anime. Nothing artistic about this....don't waste your money.

Very well made; worth renting.

Outstanding movie. Even if it is CG. Stop hating on Troopers or Halo or Star Wars or any other Sci-fi film just enjoy the f--king film. It is fantasy. No need to get critical and start comparing.

So to all you that feel the need to always hate, until you can make a feature film, motion or CG, go back down to your parent's basement where you live and put your nerdy spectacles back on, put your pecker back into your jar of Peter-pan and shut the heck up. Be glad that we have this genre and how huge it is that we are never at a shortage for the sic-fi we all grew up with and love no matter the generation we came from.

This movie started out great. Until they killed every character you care about. They make you care about these people and their back story, then kill them off with no chance of conclusion. So if you dont want to be hart broken and hate the world, do not watch this movie!

The only thing I don't get about the movies made from the Heinlein Story is that I felt like he was warning about some sort of eminent fascist /military government arising from a horrible catastrophe (like an alien invasion...) In both the movies and now this CGI version, they always seem to be ignorant of the idea. The "rah rah rah" is played up... I'm never sure if the filmmakers are aware of the irony...or just plain ignoring it...

I must admit that I enjoy these immensely, but wonder what Heinlein would think...

Borrowing from every sci fi franchise ever made, Halo, Star Trek, Star Wars. . . this is one of the worst films I've ever seen. I love cheap trashy sci fi, but this film abuses the genre.

If I wanted to watch a video game it would not be this. There needs to be a disclaimer that it is all cg. I will be asking for my money back, it is like the cg films 5 years ago....crap.

This CGI version is way better then the Movies. This movie goes HARD!!! After seeing Starship Troopers 2 & 3 I was thinking there was no hope for this one. Boy, was I dead wrong!!!! Get the HD version. It's worth the money.

I enjoyed it from start to finish. I cared about the CGI characters. The story was excellent, totally loyal to the book(s). This is a great Saturday afternoon or evening movie to see with your kids, root for the goodguys, hate the bugs, and have fun. Partial nudity isn't really nudity because they are real, right? Female characters are portrayed as strong, equal to men.

Great special effects and a solid story. I liked it more than Final Fantasy. The troopers powered armor was awesome! There is a bit of female nudity and sexual situations for those concerned for their children...it's all good for me though...LOL

This was the best movie I've ever seen of all the starship troopers. I give it a five stars and I can't wait for the next Starship troopers to continue the fight on earth!!!!

This is an awesome movie. Loved it. However... why is it that like everyother review here keeps on saying, this isn't Halo? Well we know that MR. Obvious lol. If it was it would be more Epic haha. Stop hating on Halo and saying we play too many video games because i'm pretty sure you or ur kids own a console of play games on your smart phone. every time i see "This isn't Halo" I just laugh, they are both Sci-Fi's in my eyes and Starship troopers always has had horrible actors LOL true story. You guys are too funny. Great Movie, I can't wait for the Halo movie though.

This movie was sick graphics were great some of the parts were a little cheesy but that's what starship troopers is known to do good story and sweet new bugs well worth the price or atlases renting it ;)

Really loved this movie. Maybe equal or better than the first movie. But definetly better than 3 & 4. Although it is an anime kind of movie it had all the originality of the 1st movie ie. bugs, casualties, romance & most imp. ACTION.

This movie plot is a lot like the Games Workshop game "Space Hulk." It follows the story line of the movie as opposed to that of the book. In the book, the powered armor's weapons were all internally set, not carried, and there were no female marines. Even still, this isn't bad movie. The story line takes a while to get going, but once it does it isn't bad. Lots of bugs, and for those of you who have played Space Hulk before, some very close parallels.

In my opinion, this is better than all the other StarShip Trooper movies. The animation is simply amazing and it has a great story plot!

After reading the other reviews I thought I'd give this movie a chance. I've always been a fan of the original. I'm not only glad I watched it but I even watched it twice. My favorite scene was the slow motion wormhole effects scene. Great job to all who put this movie out. I will now wait for the next. Hopefully, there are more to come! Glad I bought it. A must see...

If you want to see this in HD on your PC buy it somewhere else,iTunes keeps giving Windows 7 users HDCP errors and will only play it in SD. I have no problem playing other HD content I have purchased other places on my computer and both my monitors and graphics cards support HDCP. So I was very upset to spend the extra money and not get what I paid for.

Most sequels don't live up to the first. This one is an exception, all the others that followed the first were pretty bad, I would go so far as to say if the original was remade in this format, it could be even better. Some types of movies should be solely in CGI, this series is one of those.

this is a better CGI version of the starship troopers saga the old tv series was alright but now that CGI is now used more in movies this is what we get with experience. But people who did not grow up watching the first movie have got to stop comparing things with halo first of all starship troppers was out a bit longer than halo so they are not copying things from them its their creation and yes we start seeing more adaptations to other things like the mechs or augmentation to strengthen the body. Remember the universe is only just getting bigger.

For all the Dudebro Halo fanboys out there... no this isn't Halo. Starships Troopers was written in the 1950's. By Heinlein. If anything Halo is derivitive of this (along with Aliens). He was the 1st to come up with the concept of power armor, which was inspiration for Halo, along with the entire giant robot anime phenomenon.

Simply amazing in every way. The story is compelling for the most part and all the great characters from the first troopers movie are back. I got the hd version and I don't know what the standard looks like but the entire movie looks incredible. And one last thing it is nothing like halo.
