When I saw the trailer for this movie, I didn't think I would like it nearly as much as the older Barbie movies. I was pleasantly surprised. Though there is more emphasis on superficial aspects of life, there are very positive messages that outweigh that. Blair's friends have different interests, and their unique passions for sports and music help save the day. The bully character reforms and is forgiven once she makes sincere apologies. Blair herself is a hard worker and does everything to make life better for her mother and sister. It has a surprisingly good plot as well.

This movie is great!!!! I love the Barbie movies. Has anyone else noticed this movie combines the death of princess diana with the Romanov family?? I feel like I'm the only one who has made that connection. Anyway, awesome movie luv it!!!

I have two daughter and I have to draw the line at this one. I mean really - Princess Charm School. Is that all we want for our daughters these days? Yes honey, your goal in life should be to look pretty, obsess over fashion, and get the crown. So sad. I'm all for wanting to look good and enjoying clothes, but how about a little substance thrown in or better yet, an actual story line. Ugh. And what is with every Barbie movie having to have fairies and magic? Can we not have a bit of plain old problem solving and creativity without the fairies flying in to save the day?? With the new "Sisters" Barbie dolls that are being sold now, I would love to see some videos with the sisters showing them working together, etc. Just a thought.......
