Description

this is a amazing movie. the people are so pretty and have great personalities. it really helped me in my life because mariposa sorta relates to me. i watched this over and over again.

turns out, they may actually be making a sequel. And I found this out after my last review. which I messed up the title on. How embarrasing that all was. haha
But I still stand by my opinion of Mariposa. She's awesome.
I guess we shall wait and see how the sequel thing goes. Fingers crossed.

Mariposa is a wondreful addition to the Barbie movie series,
We see a whole different world from what we have seen in Fairytopia-a world that is much more dangerous.
Mariposa is a fairy that doesn't feel like she fits in with the other butterfly faeries.
She is treated like a servant, rather than an equal among the other faeries, & this does nothing to improve her opinion of herself.
Yet, she is the one who takes charge of the quest to fund a cure for the dying queen, & in the end, SHOWS herself worthy of respect,
I couldn't give this movie a full 5 stars though, for 2 reasons.
One is maybe my own personal preferences, but I have gotten so used to the voice of Kelly Sheridan as the lead character, that it was just hard for myself to accept anyone else.
The other was-I felt the need to use foreign accents for the queen & her son was unnecessary. The storyline would have been just as good without them.
Nevertheless: It IS a very enjoyable movie about overcoming self doubt, & IS well worth seeing!

My little sister is really disappointed. Seriously, this is just like another version of Fairytopia! Not only that, but Mariposa's wings change once more at the end of the movie; a cliched sequence from the ends of all the Fairytopia movies. Just another movie from Mattel made to sell more dolls.

Barbie Mariposa is a really cute movie. Mariposa's character is very courageous and I think a good role model. Her story is a very good one and I'd share this with anyone, I'd compare this movie a little bit more to Magic of Pegasus then to the other Fairytopia movies.
