We all know Saw is not Oscar worthy, but this takes an even bigger leap from it. This has to be my second least favorite in the franchise, but it certainly isn't as bad as the last Saw movie. I don't hate these movies, heck I love these movies to death. But Saw V, I would suggest renting this one.

This, one of/is the best Saw movie(s) and the storyline is so much easier to follow, but still gets your mind thinking! The Jigsaw legacy is still alive with the same o incredibly gruesome traps, and still Hoffman continues as the killer, which is just awesome!! They really focused on the story in this one and it sure turned out awesome from start to finish. Get this horror fan!! It has everything you'd want, but WATCH EM IN ORDER!!!!!

this one wasnt BAD, i just wish it had slightly more in it, it seemed like it was lacking some parts..all of the other SAW's i liked...i think the tomatometer is right on this one

I'm normally a horror film fan, but this film was too graphic with the gore. It may have been better in 3D, but I only was able to watch it on my computer via iTunes. I liked the earlier films better.

I love the saw movies cause every trap is different! I love seeing all he new traps that not even a real killer would think of!!! The directer of saws is deffinatly the deffinition of genius! The plot totally disapointed, but it didn't disapoint in terms of the gore! The traps were unique, which is surprising (I would have ran out of ideas after making five films of the same thing). The "suspense" in the plot (Jill's whole story line) gets lost because it seemed like they didn't do a very good job of explaining the back stories that obviously is suppose to lead up to something later on in the series. I can tell the series will dry up quickly, I don't think viewers can handle much more of the same thing.

This was a great movie as all the films are but I think this one was a little weaker than literally all the others (except the 1st one) I thought the 5 victims ending was a bit more shocking than the actually ending of the movie.

I think this was a great horor film. It was not one of the best because in my opinion I think that this was kind of to make the sequal be more true and make more sence. Due to that the sixth one is in movies now and i already bought tickets I think it is going to be great.

I'm a huge Saw fan, and I love every movie in the Series. The first one is still my favorite of the series still just because of how unexpecting a lot of the scenes were. Saw 5 has great acting, extreme gore, and a good plot/twists to keep your attention...I'm more excited for Saw 6 since they have been setting up the plot with the first 5 of the series! Can't wait to see how Jigsaw's masterpiece all comes full circle, and what truly is the point of his lessons! ....Saw 5 is a must watch for any Saw fan(it's one of the best series in history).

I personally believe that this is one of the all time best movie frachises around. This is probably my fourth favorite out of the Saw series with this one, unfortunately, being one of the less exciting ones. The movie seemed to be rushed to get out in theaters by the time Halloween came. For some reason, this one didn't even make me scream, exactly what I presumed from watching the trailer. Maybe next time Mr. Hackl could do a more impressive job, knowing he won't be rushed. But overall good plot & story.

I was waiting for this one ever since Saw 4 came out, but mostly every part was really fake, the only good part was the Circular Saw, but like i said the other traps were fake and dull (and predictable). I was disappointed....

I look forward to these movies. They are something I have to watch just to see what "earth shattering" plot twist happens at the end. As with them all, there is a twist but it's somewhat of a deflated balloon. It's no where near "earth shattering" and doesn't leave you with that "WOW" factor when the credits roll. Usual when you watch a Saw film, you think you know how it's going to trick you but then it takes you by surprise. With this one, all the facts are in your face through out and the ending is very predictable.

The rest of the movie is just what you would expect from a Saw film, traps, moral lessons (albeit harsh ones), buckets of blood and nasty head turning moments. Still a good movie, just not as punchy as the previous offerings.

Saw is my favorite scary movie saga. The first four were cleaver and bloody, just the way I like 'em. But this one focoused too much on the agent. If they would have focused on the trap some more, I would have been happy. It was a really awesome trap, but they only showed it for parts of the film. I wasn't crazy about this one. Hopefully the next SAW will be better. It just focused too much on one person. :/

Ok, to start, this is an awesome movie but what is with the movie description? The doctor with one foot? Lawrence Gordon is nowhere in this movie, and there is no doctor. It does not make sense, someone please clarify!!!!

I am left amazed, and gleefully horrified. While Saw will never be paralleled, this is the first in the series to surpass the rest. Much more story, the effort there is clear. Overall, a perfect V !!!!

Whoever wrote the "plot summary" for iTunes clearly has never seen this film, and I doubt the entire Saw series. "The Doctor"? His "operating table"? I would appreciate if your copywriters were actually familiar with the products they are supposedly summarizing.

A must-see for hardcore followers of the series. Probably won't resonate as well with casual fans of the previous films, and definitely a no-go for anyone who has not seen 1-4. It goes back through the first four and explains a lot of unanswered questions about certain characters and events. It hasn't gotten great reviews, and it wasn't as good as Saw III (my favorite) but I think it was better than Saw IV and not as over-the-top with some of the traps. It had it's gore, for sure, but was more psychological than the last one. As always, it leaves you hanging with certain questions, like What's Jill's involvement? And... could Dr. Gordon still be ALIVE?!?! I'll always be a Saw-addict. Bring VI on!

Where do I start? Saw V, is probably the best of the past 3 Saw films to be released. It features an unique story, and an ending you never see coming. It's clever, sick, disgusting, and awesome. Saw V is probably one of the best Horror films of 2008. David Hackl has saved the series. He did the right thing, something Bousman was struggling to do, making the ending sick awesome and open to way more interpretations, more than just what if Cary Elwes comes back in the next one...You will not regret watching this film.

Next to the first one, this is definately my favorite saw movie, great plot. i do not watch the saw movies because of the gore, i just love the story. I actually bought saw 5 on blu-ray, but it came with a digital copy inside. SCORE!!!. Love it.

Amazing plot, and the twists keep coming. The traps are less elaborate, and not much blood and gore, but really keeps the spirit of Jigsaw going. A must see for any Saw fan, or for one who likes to see the dark side of human nature.

I think this is my favortie saw movie... Its between the second and fifth... pretty darn scary and gory!

I anticipated Saw V when i heard it was coming out. My buddy and I went to the theater and were kind of dissapointed. I've watched it two more times now and it's great. It's not as good as the first or third...but it is definatley better than the 2nd one and a tad better the the 4th one. There needed to be more gore, but i loved the story it told. At the end of Saw IV you were like, why Detective Hoffman? This gave a great reason why and I can't wait till saw VI.

this movie i thought was going to be like the other ones but the traps in this one are not that great and they didnt hide how it was going to end or try to throw you off of what was going to happen like the other director did i was very dissapointed i give this two stars and all the others five for sure download if you want to be let down.

I enjoyed 1 & 2 immensely, 3 was great, 4 was awesome, and now 5! delivers.

This is the best one of the series!

Its not the best in the series, but it's still pretty good. This time around, the writers decided to focus more on the storyline than on the blood and guts. The acting is bad as always, but us Saw fans know that even bad actors can't bring a Saw movie down.

i was so dissapointed. the ending wasnt "shocking" as they depicted it in the taglines. and people thought it was better becuase the plot wasnt as complictaed. WTF! go watch rudolph the red nosed reindeer if you want an uncomplicated plot. Saw's is built on foreshadowing, and events earlier in the movie giving clue to the staggering ending. i actually liked this as a movie, just not as part opf the saw franchise. maybe if they had names it "five fools in a trap and a police officer" i would have liked it more :/

i seen all the saw movies and i think they are pretty good, but for some reason i like this alot better than 3 and 4, i guess party cause it has more story. i also think they could have end the series here except they did not answer one question, what was in the box jigsaw left to his wife? i guess we will find out in saw six i just hope its as good.

As a late bloomer to the Saw franchise, I thoroughly enjoyed this installment. Though not as gory as previous "sequels" and not as cerebral as the first, Saw V cleverly answers questions from the past while setting up new mysteries for future episodes.

New director David Hackl does a great job of making the new Saw his own whilst maintaining the suspense of the previous four; aside from a few sequences I may not have guessed a different director (the "maze" is particularly brutal).

All in all, this movie is worth owning. I highly recommend it for all Saw/horror/suspense fans.

The 1st movie was the best of all-of-them. Has a great plot, and good job over-all, but just get the feeling something is missing. Good to rent 1st, then decide from there.

This movie brings back the thrills, chills and disturbing gore that "Saw IV" seriously lacked, and the ending is one of the craziest and nastiest endings I've seen in a long time. As the tagline says, "You won't believe how it ends!" However, iTunes' plot summary for this is really...stupid. It doesn't really have anything to do with this movie at all. But anyways, the movie is awesome, if you're a fan of the series, I definitely recommend it. If you've never seen any before, however, you definitely need to start from the beginning, because you'd be really confused starting with the 5th film in a series.

The fifth entry in the Saw franchise is a fairly decent movie, there is a steep dropoff of the elaborate traps and gore as we are used to seeing in the Saw movies. There is a lot more story which I don't know if it is a good thing and the whole thing with the "You won't believe how it ends" tagline is blown out of proportion, I did believe how it ended as most of you who sees it will. But all in all a passable entry in a strong horror franchise.
