Curse of the Black Pearl gave us a solid base for the trilogy, Dead Man's Chest, although the proverbial 'orphan child' of the trilogy gave us a much needed 'bridge'. At World's End finishes this epic saga.
Although there isn't so much of the straight forward piratey-ness we saw in Black Pear, nor is there as much of the witty banter as we saw in Dead Man's Chest, this is a great movie. The plot is an intricately woven web of suspense, back-stabbing and romance.
I went to see this movie twice in the theaters. It is a little difficult to follow if you are not EXTREMELY familiar with the other two Pirate's movies. This is not exactly the movie you want to watch if you want a 'happy' ending to the saga, and, if you are a die-hard Orlando Bloom fan, you may not like parts of this movie.
The score is great, the half-hour long battle scene further keeps you on the edge of your seat (I was literally on the edge of my seat the entire movie!) And the acting is better than the other two movies. At World's End could easily end the trilogy, or leave it open for more.
Personally, I would have given this movie five stars if not for but one part. And that part was the fact that they tried to cram two movies worth of information into one movie. Therefore, it's pretty difficult to follow.
So, if you decide to buy this movie (and I suggest you do, even if it is confusing) sit back, relax and enjoy the show. And don't walk away at the credits! There is an excellent clip at the end of the credits that leaves you screaming for more!
