This movie was pitiful. Not in the least bit interesting. It felt like a Lifetime tv movie. It showed the facts but without real human emotion behind it. They laughed when it was time to laugh, smile when it was time to smile, cried when it was time to cry…but you didn’t FEEL those emotions. It is empty calories. It never really went deeper than the facts. Considering the talent she had, she deserves more than what this lack luster movie provided. It’s feels buying QVC Dominique fake diamonds but knowing you should have a Tiffany diamond. She deserves better.

Wokeness fails again. Hollywood can’t make a movie without beating people over the head with illogical woke politics.

Switched off after 10 minutes as the opening theme is all about LGBT promoting the spirit of the age. It takes away so much of the exceptional musical gift and message that Whitney was, which should have set the tone for the story.

Great!

Never Saw It, But Heard It’s Better Than The Lifetime Movie About Her

Though I never saw “Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody” at the theaters, I’ve heard from 1 person that said this movie about Whitney Houston is certainly better than the Lifetime movie about her. I can definitely agree because this movie actually got more things right about Whitney Houston’s life than wrong in comparison to the Lifetime movie. The thing that’s still being debated is how exactly Bobby Brown proposed to her, even in this movie. Naomi Ackie does an excellent job at portraying Whitney Houston well. In short, I love “Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody”.

I loved Whitney Houston’s voice but this is meh

It’s disturbing that Hollywood needs to inject political race crap into every thing. Teaching people to see color is truly sad. I don’t believe anything from this film. But can’t deny that Whitney was amazing, always brings tears and makes me cry when I hear Whitney sing ♥️♥️♥️ she was original she was unbelievably talented, she is missed. This gets 3 stars because Whitney was an icon.

Outstanding - true to life

The trajectory of this movie continues to climb even after it ends. You feel Whitney Houston and her music way after the movie ends. The performance by Naomi Ackie portraying Whitney Houston is like Whitney came to life thru Naomi. It takes you through the life of Whitney up til her untimely end. It is worth seeing and sharing to tell the life of someone who beat the record of the Beatles and Elvis. Amazing!!!

We will always love you

Identity politics overshadowed the story. The cultural agenda poisoned the artistic contribution of her music and talent.

Not sure why there’s so much hate. This was a little too long but outside of that it does a great job at exploring her life and the music video recreations are phenomenal. Great film, deserves more.

Naomi Ackie is Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston; I Wanna Dance With Somebody captures Whitney’s so essence extremely well that it feels more like watching behind-the-scenes footage of Whitney rather than watching a movie about her. The movie humanizes her as a whole person and not just an iconic pop star with The Voice of A Generation.

A Triumph!

I thought I knew they whole story but I was wrong. A true celebration of her life, music and once-in-a-lifetime talent that brought me to tears a couple times. HIGHLY recommended!🥹📽️

Saw this twice in theaters and would gladly watch it again! Award winning performances throughout: Naomi Ackie will blow you away with her Star 🌟 making performance as Whitney. Tamara Tunis also deserves accolades as Cissy, Whit’s Mom, as does Stanley Tucci (Clive Davis) and Nafessa Williams (as Robyn Crawford)! Spectacular musical movie that will make you a bit sad that Whitney’s not here with us right now. But The Voice Lives On! Grade: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The critics got it wrong. I guarantee you will enjoy this movie.

Just go to listen to the music and see Naomi Ackie do an amazing job portraying Whitney Houston. The supporting cast is great. The movie will make you laugh, cry, and leave you falling in love with Whitney Houston all over again. How I wish she was still around. PS. Can we get a feature concert film please??????

We love Whitney because we love to hear and watch her sing…period. This is a movie about that. The focus isn’t about the bad stuff that happened in her life. It’s about the music, and it’s phenomenal.

Dissapointed.

Was expecting a biopic such as Rocket Man and Bohemian Rhapsody. Not even close. Nothing unique. Another Whitney documentary but without Whitney.

How Real is the story here…..?

I was locked up in USP Atlanta with Clarence “Preacher” Headley, out of Harlem. He kidnapped Bobby Brown over some Coke, and Whitney paid the ransom of $450,000. Preacher was no joke. They say him and his crew, “The Black Hand” had close to 100 bodies. They terrorized Harlem. I remember Preacher telling me that they were going to chop Bobby up into 20 pieces if she didn’t pay that ransom. Whitney was a street chick for real. A real “Ride or Die” from Dirty Jersey……
I wonder if they’ll go into that?

❤️❤️❤️
