Twenty years after their last holiday at a fading vacation resort, Sophie reflects on the rare time spent with her loving and idealistic father, Calum (Paul Mescal). Thin on plot and characterization the film leans heavily on “artsy” film school level cinematography. It’s an idea that could have been put across in a fifteen minute short film, after an hour and a half you’re going to feel annoyed that you wasted your time.

Some may say slow, boring, or that nothing happens. You don’t need a film degree or a keen eye. There’s a lot happening here with very little dialogue.
This is a film about images, memory, the unspoken, and the search for an answer (which we may or may not get, depending on the viewer).
It’s not for everyone, and the payoff in the final five-ish minutes may leave you breathless (especially if you’ve experienced a similar loss).
