Lol so funny to read everyone say this was the best Disney movie ever! Apparently you don’t know what the best Disney movie is! This movie didn’t stay 50% to the original and they tried to much to make it modern! This version sucked I’m sorry that’s the truth.

I think this movie had a lot more potential. I was really excited to see W. Smith because he is a great actor, but he is not a comedian. The energy R. Williams had was not improved upon by Smith & the Gene was not really the fun character it should of been, should of gotten another comedian to do it, they are actually funny.

I think the role of Jasmine was improved on, but the role of Aladdin was kinda boring, at least Abu, Rajah and Iago where fun to watch. Jaffar, should of been more creepy & less melodramatic. The biggest improvement was the Sultan. Instead of a complete, bumbling ball of dumb, he seemed like a normal guy trying to do what’s best for his family.

From this remake you wouldn’t be able to tell it was from an incredible movie. They devoted from the original story in all the wrong ways and the actors/actresses filled their rolls awkwardly. It was a huge disappointment.

The music was bad , and will Smith was awful

I wasn’t excited to see it at first because I didn’t like the original version. But once I DID see it my head exploded🤯. It’s so good! I would give it 100,000,000 stars if I could.

This movie was the best movie in 2019 history. They did a really great job Will Smith was funny as usual love the singing too!!!

This is no match to the animated version. Give me the old Disney back T-T

I loved this movie! It was so dang good! I liked it better than the original. When Naomi Scott sang “Speechless” it was amazing. All the songs were good.

Aladdin is a all time Disney Classic. I am usually a big fan of Disney’s Live action Remakes and this is just as good. Will Smith, Naomi Scott, Ameba Maude all makes this films theirs by not acting their roles but living the characters.

This remake is very close to being the exact Same story as the original with mores addictions, including a brand new song for Jasmine, Speechless.

Overall I enjoyed this movie. It is another fantastic Live Action Disney Remake.

I’ve never really been into Disney, or the original Aladdin, but I loved this movie. I love the action, the romance, and it comedy. Perfect 👌.

I enjoyed this movie from start to finish. You won’t be disappointed

I really wanted to love this, as a 90s baby, I grew up with the original Aladdin!! I love the idea of live-action remakes of my classic childhood films so we get to relive them all over again! I can really appreciate the effort and time that went into this project. However, I just could not get into it. I tried and tried and tried. Let’s get to the casting... Aladdin BUGGED. He was so short, had no chemistry with anyone and his lip syncing was pretty bad. Naomi Scott who played Jasmine was great! I didn’t dig the Genie side romance with Jasmine’s friend played by Nasim Pedrad, it felt phony and forced. I didn’t really care for her character mostly because she didn’t add anything to the story. Her lines were a bit cheesy and overall her part felt like an SNL skit. Jafar did not fit, he was too young and it just was not the right guy for that role. I like Will Smith and I guess didn’t mind him as the Genie? But Robin Williams is just the OG. All and all this is a miss for me sorry Disney. Maybe the kiddos will dig it!

I thought it was going to be a bad remake of a good movie. See above title. CGI was used way too much, it felt rushed, and some elements didn’t even make sense. Don’t pay for a bad movie. It’s not worth it.

I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. Loved the original but this one was great as well.

The storyline, characters, and music are what make this live action remake awesome! Will Smith was hilarious as Genie and Marwan Kenzari as Jafar was amazing and underrated! Mena Massoud was an excellent choice for Aladdin as was Naomi Scott for Jasmine! Only complaint was that a Jafar didn’t turn into a giant cobra as I was expecting but Iago becoming a giant roc made up for that. The best live action Disney remake with Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King!

5 stars if you want a cute movie with decent music. I knocked 2 off because it’s just not as good as the cartoon. The actor who played jafar was so flat, they took away some iconic scenes, and injected a ton of feminist rhetoric. That’s not even a political statement about feminism, I’m just saying there was no value added to the movie or story. I was just disappointed because I feel they could have done much better.

Big Willy did justice to his character. Jasmine was fine. Sultan wasn’t anything like his cartoon counterpart and a bit dull as well. Definitely worth a watch- but don’t expect this to keep up with the cartoon.

This movie is an insult to the original. The storyline was completely ruined. This movie was originally about finding true love not power. Why ruin such a perfect story Disney? Why? Beauty and The Beast didn’t stray away from the original storyline. Why couldn’t they do the same for Aladdin. I’m terrified to see what they do to The Little Mermaid. Also the singing was atrocious throughout the entire movie. I did enjoy Will Smith’s version of Friend Like Me at the end though. That was pretty fun.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the musical score on this movie. I don't know how many times I've replayed the parts where Will Smith performs "Friend Like Me" and "Prince Ali". Will is an incredible genie. "A Whole New World" was beautifully done and "Speechless" felt empowering and made the movie relevant for our times.

Disney grubbing money off of an old classic. If you want to watch Aladdin just watch the 90’s classic.

So glad this was a regular feel good movie. No hidden agendas and foolishness. Loved the singing and joking.

Absolutely horrible movie. My whole family hates it. We’re all Disney fans and loved the Beauty and the Beast live movie, but Will Smith was a terrible genie. He sounded like he does in every movie, and I like many of them. They should have gotten Jamie Fox or Jimmy Falon. They need someone that can pay tribute to Robin Williams’ character, not ruin it.

Storytelling 101: There is SO much that is allowed and acceptable as characters in an animated film. But, when you have real actors trying to portray cartoon characters it comes off... 😪 terribly contrived. I literally cringed while watching it.

1) Acting: The entire film felt like a high school musical. As in, performed by high schoolers. You’ll find yourself thinking. “Okay, well that was okay for a first take. But let’s try that line again.” But there was no second take and you’re left scratching your head how that delivery made it to the final cut.

2) Singing: Will Smith is solid actor, and I’m personally a big fan. But a singer, no, not at all. No amount of Autotune could have saved him from that performance. Sorry Will.

The saving grace of this film was Jasmine (who was by far the strongest character) and the “jams” dialogue which actually captured the “what could have been” relationship between the Genie and Aladdin - if only they had leaned heavier into that chemistry.

3 out of 5 stars. Watchable, but nothing beyond that.

I would have liked the movie if they hadn’t changed Jasmines character into man-woman! I guess it’s politically incorrect for a woman to act feminine. One star added for effort.

This is a great movie. They kept the essence of the animated version but added a few twist. It was very well thought out!

Great family movie. Visuals are fantastic and plenty of action, comedy, drama, etc. A super fun watch.

One of the worst movies. Thought I’d give this a chance but the script and acting was terrible.

I love the movie. It moved. Will Smith was wonderful and I was amazed at his singing. His singing not only held my attention, but sounded great to me! I recommend this move for anyone with the need to watch fantasy and a love of a tale.

Sorry that others didn’t like this movie, but as we all say, “Can’t please everyone, so you got to please yourself.”

This movie was fantastic!!! I saw it in theaters and couldn’t wait to add it to my movie collection! Will Smith was amazing as Genie and Mena gained a new fan in me! Love the dancing, songs, comedy, everything about it!

The original cartoon succeeded into turning the story into a cartoon, but bringing it back into a film from a cartoon was not too brilliant.

I would have reanimated or re-polished the original one.
