Loved the movie, love the series. Must buy for the extras alone! Very different from all the others in the hp world but I enjoyed it.

I don’t know why the bad reviews. I’ve seen this movie several times in theaters large and small and each time I noticed something new, some small tidbit I’d missed the previous times. Brilliant movie, amazing acting, the plot is thick and I loved every moment of the many times I’ve watched it.

The haters are just the same downers that hate any new movies in other franchises.

If studios made exactly the same stuff over and over without growing and challenging the viewer they’d complain about that too.

Wow, really disappointed at this movie. One thing doesn’t have to do with the next. I would give it zero stars but the reviews wouldn’t let me. Who ever said this movie is good is clearly in prescribe medication or blind as a bat. Definitely a do not buy. Wasted my money in the movie theater. Only thing good was the popcorn.

I was really looking forward to this movie. The first one was great!

This one..not so much. There wasn’t heart. The story wasn’t bad, but it was all over the place. And having a stupid battle vs a fire, instead of some cool wizards vs wizards battle. Nope.

People want complete story from a segment of a longer story. Oh ye of short attention span. Wait for the crimes. He just broke out of prison.

It’s basically two hours exposition. Also, where are the crimes? It should be named “Fantastic Beasts: Do the beasts and Grindelwald even matter, cause this movie is pretty much about Leta’s love life”

It was amazing. And to all those people saying it doesn’t have anything to do with Harry Potter. Well, it’s not supposed to. It’s not a Harry Potter film, it’s a fantastic beasts film. And it does have to do with the wizarding world. It’s all about Grindelwald and his downfall. Which they talk about in the Harry Potter books. So, take that haters!

If you liked the first Fantastic Beasts movie, you’ll like this. Not sure how anyone could not have enjoyed the movie.

Yes, this is much darker than the first movie, & it really helps to know the LeStrange background to help understand. I knew the background , so maybe that made it easier to love this movie, and see it twice in the theaters. Now I can’t wait to watch it again & again! And definitely can’t wait until the next one. Clearly there is a lot of background which needed to be laid out in order to understand the next movie.

It was truly awesome:

1) Nagini. That was a really powerful aspect that would affect Harry’s time

2) Queenie. She is Ann amazing character

I saw fantastic beasts the crimes of Grindelwald first and I rent The first fantastic beast and I can’t finish it because I almost fell asleep

This is NOT A POTTER FLICK nor should it be anything like potter.

There is a lot going on in this film because it’s a huge setup.

It should not have FTB in the title that film should have been a stand alone. This should have been simply “The Crimes of G” it should have been just an intro film to all that will follow the G story line.

Magical and intriguing . I loved every minute

Great movie but there are so many small details and tie ins with Harry Potter that you have to watch it several times to catch everything which makes it that much more enjoyable.

If you like wannabe Harry Potter movies then this works for you on that level!

I absolutely love this movie. It gives an even bigger glimpse into the Wizarding World. I rewatched the first movie in anticipation before seeing the second at the movie theater. Can’t wait for February 15 when it’s released to iTunes.

JK does it again! I wasn’t a fan of the first movie but after watching some specials I decided to see this in the theatre and I really loved this. It’s a lot more exiting than the first. I can’t wait for this to be released to buy because I definitely think there are things in this story I missed.

I know, I know, you’re probably shaking your head at me right now. But I’m SERIOUS! So refreshing to see a more original plot structure. A bunch of different characters, intertwined in different ways all being lured into the same trap. The real main character of this movie is grindelwald. The entire movie is about illusion. It looks like a bunch of little plots but really it’s one big plot. It looks like grindelwald has a fair point, but really he’s just manipulative. It’s definitely more intelligent than most of the Harry Potter movies. My only complaint is Yates and probably studio intervention. Yates is a playful director, but he plays around so much he sometimes takes away so much of the substance. And it’s really really sad, because there is so much dark beauty in this film that I wish had been explored in greater depths. There were countless scenes from the trailer that didn’t even make it into the final cut. Which is upsetting to me as a huge Rowling fan. I want all she’s got, like we had with the books. The movie was one of the shorter installments of the franchise and for me it could have been another 45 minutes and probably would have been more engaging to a lot of the people that complain about it. I want to know how credence was directing his obscurus in the trailer. I want to know why leta was at that party. I want to know how credence found the circus and nagini, and what the scene was where he was looking at the sign. I want to know so many things that were clearly cut from this movie. I hope this means they will release a directors cut because if any movie deserves one it’s this movie. Warner Bros and Yates both need to give more devotion to this world rowling has GENEROUSLY offered to them. All this being said, Leta Lestrange is one of the best origin stories in all of the series. Grindelwalds strategies are amazing and potentially scarier than Voldemort’s. Oh and Jude Law is the first actor to understand who dumbledore is and that is the biggest treat. This movie should have at LEAST 70% on RT and it’s kind of stupid to me that it doesn’t.

Sad to see the once great Harry Potter universe reduced to this.

AWFUL

This movie is great, people who have a problem with this movie is that does not fit the typical outgoing strong personality and rule braking male as the lead, but instead a compassionate odd man who hesitates to break the rules but does it because he cares for others rather than concentrating on his own ego. One of my favorite movies and because it gives you another glimpse into what Dumbledore was really about and something that someone who actually read the books might have pick on before.

Amazing movie, I loved the action, the drama, the humor ! Everything that I would look for in a Fantastic Beast movie was there

Some of you idiots could not follow an afternoon soap opera. This is a good movie and shows how the villain goes about seducing his followers and what ideas motivate him. This movie is obviously part of a larger story. Maybe watch some cartoons instead.

Thats where this movie should be shelved. Room of Requirement. Slow paced and really just get to the point already. The beats were great the scenes OK, plot line, story line WAAAAY OFF. I expected better.

Unbelievably good don’t give a sh!t about the critics

The movie was well thought out. The acting was spectacular. I was curious how Jude Law would portray a younger Dumbledore and he did amazing. Johnny Depp did spectacular and everything came together nicely. I was very taken with the last scene it was rather unexpected and enjoyable. I look forward to the next! Well done!

I don’t understand, I haven’t heard anyone hate on this movie enough to rate it a rotten score and yet Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 37%?! Who is paying them to destroy reviews like this? It has to be a pay off scam of some kind to give this movie THAT low of a score, it’s the only explanation. This is as bad as Fortnite winning the Golden Joystick. Think with your integrity and not your wallet, yea?

I rather enjoyed this movie! It does change some things with the Potter movies, however, that's okay. Remember, this is JK Rowling's world. She just allows us to view it, or live it.

This movie is horrible! Don’t waste your money! No plot, what were Grindewalds crimes, they never explain it! It finally got interesting in the last 15 minutes then ended abruptly. Loved the first one, this just plain ole stunk.

The film tried to be so many things then being nothing at all. It was a movie that was so heartless like a vampire it sucked all my love out of the first film. Is this what we're to looking forward too? An endless string of sequels to a better franchise?

I wasn't entirely clear what was going on over the long run time of this movie or why. The plot seemed very contrived.

I fell asleep a few time watching it which may explain my confusion.

The Deathly Hallows, by contrast, kept me wide awake and interested.

I also had no idea what the baby swapping bit was all about and I didn't care.

I dont think the movie was well thought out or presented. First, there should have been time spent on Dumbledore's past. Then time spent on bridging the first movie and the second; Fantastic Beasts was outstanding. Strong relationships in the first movie were some how miraculously weak in the second; many didn’t make sense. There was no fun in the crimes of Grindelwald; no time getting us invested. i am such a fan, Do much much better next time.

Weird cliffhanger aside, this movies plot was all over the place, with clear storytelling sidelined for cool effects. Way too much expository dialogue, and the constant mobility of the camera was nauseating. It really was unpleasant as a visual experience. I hope the shortcomings of the storytelling are rectified.

It felt very Harry Potter style like! I don’t care what the critics say. If you are a fan, you will like this movie!

It is nice to live in the wizards world again

I loved the Harry Potter series! And love these as well! You can’t go into the fantastic beasts movies and be expecting Harry Potter. It does give some good background for a few details from Harry Potter though which I loved! Can’t wait for it to come out!! I watched this one before the first fantastic beasts and it was a little harder to follow. So I watched it again after watching the first. I’ll be watching them both again when this one comes out!
