While reading the reviews for this movie, I saw a “cloned Minions” theory by someone who goes by the username Teeheejle.

So, at the Universal Studios parks, there is a ride called Minion Mayhem. Basically, Gru needs some extra help in his lab, so he recruits people to become Minions. At the end of the ride, the Minionizer accidentally zaps the riders again, turning them back into humans. But, it may be more successful at times, and so that’s how Gru got more Minions. However, there are two other possibilities: In the first film, there is a blueprint of a Minion (that can only be found if you look closely). Also, in the short film “Orientation Day”, found on the first film’s Blu-Ray, it is said that the Minions originated from a mutated strand of DNA. When it comes to continuity, these guys are NOT good at choosing an idea and staying with it.

This movie was a very outstanding kids friendly comedy. This is the most I've laughed at a kids movie in a while. The creators of despicable me did quite a good job for the first movie, despicable me 2 was not quite as good, but despicable me was just great. Where do I start? I'm not a huge illumination fan, but I REALLY like Despicable Me 1 and 2. They showed a lot of emotion and developed the characters so much. But this... It's just... It's just a bunch of slapstick humor and goofy cartoon. The minions just waltz around being dumb for an hour and a half. The storyline's decent, but it doesn't play out well. The villain doesn't seem scary or funny. She's a very lazily thought out character and basically just has cool gadgets. If you like watching minions do idiotic things for 1 hour & 1/2, go ahead, knock yourself out. The only time I enjoyed myself is when you saw child Gru at the ending. Overall, huge disappointment.

I so wanted to like this film. I had enjoyed both Despicable Me movies and could wait to see this one and couldn't believe that Minions had gotten some bad ratings. Turns out the bad ratings and reviews were spot on. It only got two stars because I can't bring myself to give the Minions only one star. Poor Minions as its not their fault.
