Cheesy characters, flimsy plot, corny dialog, clumsy action sequences, dated visuals (we can forgive those, as it was made in 1991). Set in WWII, the Nazis needed to steal this prototype rocket pack to further their hopes of world domination… but somehow could sneak a massive full sized zeppelin complete with nazi banner into the skies over LA (which somehow feels more like Circle Pines, Nebraska). Everyone is very wholesome and very, very white. If the Hallmark Christmas people decided to try and make an action movie, minus the Christmas schlock, this would be it.

Its a great movie for all the family

The Rocketeer is as classic as they come. It saddens me that Disney doesn’t do more with it as a property. I’ve watched this movie on repeat since it came out.

This has and always will be my favorite movie as it made me love movies when I was a kid and will always do so. Highly underrated and family friendly. A true cult classic.

The Rocketeer is an incredible movie, but please release the incredible soundtrack that James Horner has composed. I truly wish upon a star.

This movie is amazingly underated. Forget your Iron Man and everything else this is a superb movie with a great soundtrack and has the feel of the original Indiana Jones (Please Exclude the Crystal Skull)

This is one of the best films Disney has ever made. Clean, wholesome fun for the entire family. Well worth the money.

I enjoyed this movie when it first came out because there wasn't much like it at the time. However, I watched it again recently and it's slow. Really slow. To make matters worse, most of the tension and suspense comes from the Rocketeer not really being able to fly very well. Billy Campbell is very likable in the role and Timothy Dalton is as menacing as an Errol Flynn-type character can be. Tiny Ron carves an imposing profile as the heavy, but his character strains suspension of disbelief by literally breaking people in half. Jennifer Connelly looks every bit the part of a starlet from the period and that plus the retro futuristic stylings somewhat makes up for Alan Arkin and the really slow pace of the film.

At the risk of repeating what others have already said...this is one of those unsung hero movies...average joe finds himself in both trouble with his girl , in trouble with the government, and then the well being of the whole free world is upon his shoulders ! What could be WORSE ?

Definitely PG but minor for families with pre-teens on up. Glad to see it for purchase on iTunes !!!!

This was the best superhero movie of the 20th Century, i.e., until the modern era of CGI, Spider-Man, X-Men, and so forth. It's family-friendly, has great performances from all parties involved, an ever-escalating plot with a magnificent finish, and besides all that, it's a really charming period piece of the pre-war era. Unlike so many other superhero movies of its era, it's often funny without ever being silly or camp. Just can't recommend it highly enough.

Hissable villains, cool stunts. 30's tunes. Beating Nazis. A few surprises. Loved this more than the other guys doom temple of crystal skulls (without pointing fingers).

I like this movie but am disappointed that it is only for rent when a long while ago it was available for purchase.

This movie was soo underrated, never got much of the spot light for most people but i always did loved this movie when i was a kid. Its a good movie to watch.

I saw this movie on the Sci-Fi Channel and was immediately taken back by it. Not only is the concept of a rocket pack inspiring, but Terry O' Quinn's performance as Howard Hughes was great. I'm starting my own Rocketeer costume for Comic Con 2015

Saw this movie when I was in college. I immediately fell in love with Jennifer Connelly who has gone to do greater things. This movie is just plain, innocent fun. Good for the whole family!

My 10 year-old son has been talking about building a jet pack for a couple of years now. Ever since he first brought it up, I've been looking for this movie to rent or buy and I couldn't find it anywhere. SO GLAD it's here now! We're watching it tonight...I'm sure my kids will love it!
