This movie has so many bad elements that it ends up just shy of true over the top greatness. The characters are ridiculous and for the most part so shallow that you won’t even get your toes wet. For an action movie, I usually hope for some elements to make a modicum of sense, not here. The scene where the FBI returns fire to the sniper in the opposite building is insane, they have no idea what they are shooting at and still simply randomly shoot the hell out of the building they think the fire is coming from. The Neo-Nazi brothers are the worst characters possible and add nothing to the movie, not even humor. My favorite part is where Ben Affleck does possibly his best acting ever, just after he’s killed and his killer is pretending he’s talking to him by making Ben’s mouth move. Bottom line, if you want a plot, characters that you can identify with, and anything what-so-ever that makes sense, this is not your movie. However if you dump all that stuff and just want to see a bunch of blood and ridiculously gratuitous violence, you’ve got it. I love this move for what it is: nothing that requires any thinking at all.
