Good movie, great car chase, but on iTunes there are no chapters for this movie. You can't jump to a specific chapter you want to see because chapters are not available.

I like action movies. I like police movies. I like car movies. But this is none of those by 21st century standards. The plot was thin, the characters mono dimensional, and the car chase was clearly done before stuntmen learned to drive. This movie was the longest four hours of my life.

To this day, I consider Bullitt Steve McQueen's greatest moment. I won't go so far as to say that I wish he had said yes to playing Dirty Harry
(Like Bullitt, based on the same San Francisco cop who ran the Zodiac case) but I do wonder what Steve would've done with the Harry character.
Every time I watch Bullitt, (particularly the new digitally-restored print) I realize how great the film is, and what a shame it is that McQueen
died so young.

I rented this movie, after watching watching Love WIth The Proper Stranger and reading all the glowing reviews for this film. Im not sure if it lived up to the reviews I read. The car chase scene has been done to death, but this movie started it all and set the bar for future films, watching it though I was a little under-whelmed.Robert Vaughn deserved an oscar nomination for his brilliant acting . I wont spoil the end, but it almost knocked my rating to 2 star's. If your not a McQueen fan already or heard of this movie, Id suggest renting it before buying.

Great look. Darkly cynical. But very much a piece of its period. Too long. Too slow. And the much heralded car chase? "The Seven Ups" has a much better one. As does the first Bourne movie or the re-make of "The Italian Job." Worth a look but not a buy.

Side story to a great chase movie

Between shooting. On my street corner where part of the movie was shot in SF an ugly, hair matted little dog comes up to Steve and he reaches down to pet it's head. As soon as he did that the dog fell over on it's side, tongue hanging out the side of it's mouth, and acted dead for a few seconds. All the huge production crews along with Steve cracked up. The dog was alone, no one have given it a command.
Bullitt was the FIRST great chase scene. People in the movie audience wjould actually lean when the cars went around the corners. McQueen actually hit a neighbors car so in the movie, watch the small dent appear in a scene after that bump.

A true cult classic!!

One of the most famous car chase movies ever! A '68 Dodge Charger R/T vs. a '68 Mustang GT. How could it go wrong? It would be awesome to see Vanishing Point offered on iTunes, but this will do until then.

This movie has everything,...

... okay, maybe not sci-fi monsters, but...
It's got a great story, great characters/actors,great cinematography, location, but above all else, Steve McQueen and that historic car chase scene. What seems to make that scene even better is that Mr. McQueen, it is said, did the actual driving throughout. I was about 8 or 9 years old when my dad took my brother and me to see this at the theater. We felt like we were on a roller coaster.
Still a blast to watch today!

This is an intriguing crime drama, and anything Steve McQueen is in is awesome, but the kicker is the car chase. A Dodge Charger vs. a Ford Mustang...that's all that needs to be said. A legendary battle on the streets of San Francisco.

Steve McQueen was considered one of the coolest actors back in his day, and he definitely brings that air to the screen in this film. The story is pretty good, but the best part is the editing, including one of the greatest car chases in cinema history. Not the best movie ever, but it still merits a watch.
