This is one of the best movies I have ever seen!

I first saw this movie in my sophomore wellness class when we were going over the difference between abusive and healthy relationships. I absolutely loved it while watching it there, though most of my friends didn't find it all that special. Then a year later I was home sick from school and while browsing free movies to watch on TV I stumbled upon it and just HAD to watch it, and boy oh boy was it just as good the second time around. I just love everything about this movie. I related to Kat a whole lot and that made the movie a whole lot more enjoyable. I didn't like Bianca very much at all and would've been just as happy to watch a movie with her cut out of it, but nonetheless this is my favorite movie and always will be.

One of the greatest "Teen" movies of all time. Anyone who lambasts it as inane and stupid clearly either wasn't a teenager during the 90's or doesn't understand Shakespearean-based comedy. It was supposed to be a little silly and a lot witty. It introduced us to Heath Ledger, a fine actor whom we would soon discover to be more than just a pretty face. His portrayal of Patrick in this film proves that he is capable of enveloping a character's multidimensional facets and, more importantly, understands them. This movie belongs right up there with "Sixteen Candles", "Pretty in Pink", "The Breakfast Club", "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and "Grease". Even my teen brother watched this with his English class a few months back and they all agreed that it was the funniest movie they'd seen in a while. It spans generational gaps and proves that even a kitschy teen flick from the 90's has real staying power.

I love the scene at the beginning where Kat pulls up to the stoplight next to the girls blasting hip-hop, and cranks up "Bad Reputation". Classic.

Heath Ledger is the greatest actor of all time. Buy it now.

This movie is the greatest!!! But the summary is terrible. Bianca only has a dad, and the rule is no dating at all and then he changes it. The idea to get Kat a date was not Joey's but Cameron's so Cameron can date her. Joey was a pawn. Cameron and Micheal gave the idea to Joey so he could pay someone to date Kat instead of paying someone with their own money. Patrick is not new Cameron is. Obviously the person who wrote this summary of the movie has not seen it.

I'm not reading thru all the reviews to check- but it seems that many people are unaware that it's a modern-day adaptation of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew. Even some of the critics' reviews don't seem to pick up on that. Love movies, but don't forget to read, folks. Kevin Thomas of the LA Times, thanks for pointing out that Shakespeare's work is "as satirical as it is romantic ... wise enough to span generations in its appeal." Please, someone tell me the story is timeless next.

I absolutely LOVE this movie!

It was my 1st favorite movie until Avatar came out.

But this movie is so funny and has 2 of my favorite actors, Heath Ledger & Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

When I first saw this movie on TV I fell in love with it and kept watching it over and over again.

If someone asked me what's a good teen comedy to watch I would highly recommend this movie to them.

This movie is smarter than the average teen movie. It has clever lines and a talented cast, and sometimes Kat is so cruel its just hilarious. Some clever lines include:

"(Sarcastically.) Am I that obvious? I want you, I need you, oh baby, oh baby."

Kat: "I don't see your head in your usual cloud of smoke."

Patrick: "Yeah, I quit. I heard it's bad for you."

Kat: "Ya think?"

Kat: "You know, you can't just buy me a guitar everytime you screw up."

Patrick: "Yeah, I know. But there is always, bass, drums, and maybe even one day, a tambourine."

Kat: (Pointing to the radio.) "I should do this."

Patrick: "What?"

Kat: "THIS!"

Patrick: "Start a band?"

Kat: "(Sarcastically.) No, install a car sterio."

As you can see, many of these lines revolve around the unlikely couple, Kat and Patrick, who are just in some bizarre way, completely meant for eachother. And as they fall for eachother, the viewers will be falling for the movie.

1st of all, yes I did see this movie because of Heath Ledger, and yes he was what I liked most about it. But the movie as a whole was a perfect little teenage comedy, perfect for sleepovers! The part where Heath starts singing just made me so happy (he didn't have that bad a voice either!) So, I say you should totally buy it, and if you really want to see Heath Ledger at his best, go and see the Dark Knight! He was so freakishly good in that! HEATH LEDGER WE ALL MISS YOU!!! GOD BLESS YOU!!!

This was, is, and always will be one of the best teen movies ever. It's great to watch and very funny. This movie has the perfect cast. It gives us a little taste of high school life, with a little humor here and there. Unfortunately, my favorite actor in this movie, Heath Ledger, died five months ago, but he lives through his daughter, Matilda. His last movie is Batman: The Dark Knight, which he plays the Joker. Heath was a very talented actor and will remain a legacy. This movie, and many more of Ledgers' are highly recommended. R.I.P Heath.

My best friend, Gwen, showed me this movie maybe 2 or 3 years ago, and I immediately fell in love with it. I believe it's the best movie ever created. The acting is amazing. I love Heath Ledger, who was and still is one of my favorite actors. I first saw Julia Stiles in the Bourne movies. She amazed me in this movie as well. The plot is the greatest, and some lines make me laugh, laugh, laugh. The only con, I would have to say, is the hideous 90's clothes. Haha. Just kidding. The hideous 90's clothes only make it 5 times more awesome.

This is the only movie I've bought on iTunes. The $9.99 and 4 hours of waiting were definitely worth it.

I LOVED this movie! We watched it in Freshman year of high school to wrap up our Taming of the Shrew unit, and I missed the first half, and still fell head-over-heels in love with it. It's one of those movies that leaves you with a fuzzy feeling in the pit of your stomach. Heath Ledger really does fantastic work with his character development over the course of the movie. The way he starts out the movie as the guy who ate a live duck once, then progresses to being the guy who carries her out of the party when she's drunk and holds her hair back when she gets sick is absolutely BRILLIANT. You can clearly see that he starts out just doing this for the money, but soon moves past that and starts to actually attempt to win her over. The movie left me and my other single girlfriends desperately wanting a guy who will watch your back as you storm away from him after a fight, and who will understand everything about you, and vowing to wait for the guy who does. The actress who plays Bianca is also spot-on. She gets what the character is about, and plays off the sweet, innocent favorite perfectly, while also suggesting that there's a tougher side to her that doesn't come out until the end of the movie. The only small complaint I have is that, while Julia Stiles is a brilliant actress (one of my favorites, actually), the red shirt she's wearing on the movie poster and cover of the DVD is NOT a shirt she should be wearing. That shirt is clearly meant to show off a girl's body, and, to be frank, she doesn't have much in the way of "assets" to show off. It's very unflattering. Other than that, I have no complaints, and this movie is one of my favorites ever!

Or maybe, 'Taming of the Shrew for Dummies'? Nah, this movie as better than that. It pleases me to see such a well done adaptation of Shakespeare for the modern audience, or more importantly, the younger audience. It is charming, fresh, and natural, without being cutsy and cheesy. Buy and watch it for its sweetness and likeability. Besides, you need to know the plot line for that 'Dramatic Literature of England through the Elizabethan Era' class, so you might as well enjoy what you're learning about and you know, actually *understand* what you're learning about. And hey, this was before Heath Ledger became Heath Ledger!

Unlike American Pie, it doesn't throw nudity and random stuff out there, but like the AP series, it's just funny. One of the best things about the movie is the acting and the actors. Many of which are still very famous. Also, almost every teen in America can relate to this movie. There will be someone in the movie who will make you think "Hey, that's me!!" Like High School in reality, the movie also has all the varieties of kids, which makes the movie even better. If you haven't seen this movie yet, you really should. It's one of those classics.

I was giggling so much!!! I was watching it on my ipod and making people laugh cuz they didn't know what I was watching or why I was laughing. I felt it was a good teenage with adult bonding type of movie. Really enjoyed it and would recommed it to anyone who just wanted to giggle...or think back to Highschool and the dating scene. I Loved save the last dance and thought this was just as good.

Without a doubt, this may be the first teen movie to not act like a teen movie. With it's Shakesperean background and its witty, sardonic scrpit, it's a movie that delighted me.

the 90s was a little short of good teen movies, whereas the 80s had the breakfast club, pretty in pink, sixteen candles, heathers, and a host of others. i'm not too fond of this genre in general, and there haven't been a lot of good ones in the 90s and 00s. with the exception of this movie, clueless, and mean girls, they've usually been quite forgettable.

but i love this movie. the characters are fleshed out and lovable, the performances are great for such young actors, the romances are well-done and sweet, and it really is laugh-out-loud funny. the first time i heard the "he sold his liver on the black market for speakers" line, i literally laughed so hard i cried. heath ledger is not only beautiful (which he most certainly is) he's one h*ll of an actor (brokeback mountain, anyone?) and he was just showing his potential here. the other performances are unusually good as well. in short, it's just a good movie.
