I was told that if I don't like or watch the Woman King I am a racist. Well, I am NOT a racist, but beccuse I was already labled as one for not seeing this movie, I will NOT buy, rent or see this movie at all. And my life will go on unperturbed and missing nothing from WOKE Hollywood.

This movie gets you fired up! It recognizes Women, National Pride and The Human Spirit. If you don’t stand up and cheer you don’t have a pulse. A triumph in Cinematic Excellence. Viola Davis is Fantastic! Pure Oscar Worthy performances by the entire cast.

The movie was god awful and over exaggerated garbage. It was hateful and full of lies, to me they seemed like the African tribe that sold their own people into slavery.

This is probably the worse film I have ever seen. There is no way this is based on a true story.

I actually watched the movie and it was entertaining. It was not the best movie and not the worst movie I have seen this year. Shang-chi legend of the ten rings was much, much better. It was not an award winning movie, but I can recommend renting it.

The plot was pointless and acting was horendous. I tried to enjoy it, but this movie fell flat. Such wasted energy.

Sorry, but it was just awful. The film is not based on anything but a violent fantasy. You can google any person or event in the film and research how inaccurately it is portrayed.

I wouldn’t have as much of a problem with this film if it didn’t actively try to rewrite history in the name of having a “strong female lead” while claiming to tell the history of this tribe.

Well, the truth is this: The so called “Woman King” (aka Queen???) sold her own people into slavery.

I enjoyed the spectacle and story of this movie. And I hope people see the truths in this movie about slavery, and those who took part and profited from it. Also, I hope this and other movies from and about people of color shows what has been missed/neglected for so many years as far as talent, stories and the scope of their history due to racism and just plain ignorance.

Great performances, great action (although there are only a couple of fight scenes, they are excellent and really stand out). For once, a movie that actually pushes the boundaries of PG-13 rather than just giving us bloodless action. The script is pretty good, although those saying they got the history completely wrong clearly haven’t seen the movie or read about the actual history. Overall, very worth a watch!

All of the talented and beautiful actresses in this film did an excellent job. The acting is on point and the story is captivating. Hats off to everyone involved!

As for the film, it’s an enjoyable swashbuckling historical epic with fantastic performances. It’s the “women of color killing white slave-owners” scene that has their torn-up boxers in a bunch. Great film. Highly recommend.

Slave traders are cool heroes now?

Get woke, go broke. Save your freaking money for something that isn’t woke.

This film completely ignored the role of this particular African tribe in trade & promotion of slavery. They captured and sold black slaves, and were not some kind of admirable folks in any shape or form as portrayed by this woke-garbage trash film trying to revise actual history. What an insult to the actual victims and disregard of their suffering by completely white-washing the violence committed against them by the Dahomey kingdom in 1800s.

This is a documentary, about as much as Black Panther is a documentary -it’s not. This is entertainment. There are some great performances. I purchased the movie because if its position in the history of filmaking casting black women heroically. I grew up watching westerns, cowboys and indians. The indians didn’t get to write the story. Conversely, The history of africans is often written by europeans The 1963 version of Cleopatra is not an historic documentary. But no one complains about the historic inaccuracies. For the w020 version of Mulan the colonist had no criticism. Mel Gibson”s Apocalypto didnt cause issue about historic inaccuracy. But Mulan was not a black woman and Apocalypto was not about africans. Buy this movie. the only thing colonists understand: it’s the power of the dollar (mammon). Why is the Apple rating unmatched to rotten tomatoes? Because racist live to torpedo black art. Every POC should be buying this film! Having said this: Will Smiths movies should be boycotted: he is a thug, still.

From the trailer alone I can see this movie is so historical inaccurate. Instead of based on true events it should be based on events portrayed in a way we want you to think. Please look up what actually happened and see this “tribe should not be glorified”

I absolutely loved this movie, the characters were intense and mesmerizing. The action is just great and the edge of your seat perfection is just thrilling. I’m pumped to watch this again.

Every positive review for this movie is saying the African slave trade was a good thing. You better learn history or be like the fools who applaud a movie because of the color of a actors skin or their sex. You need to grew up or don’t but when you replace history don’t ask why or who didn’t see it coming.

The truth of Dahomey tribe was NOT portrayed correctly in this movie. You think it’s inspirational that the women army stood up against the white man and wanted their freedom? History shows that actually never happened. This tribe was 100% responsible for slave trade and would kill and rape their own people and sell them off and fact, 1/5 of African Americans in America ancestors were originally shipped up here BECAUSE of them. They murdered and raped your ancestors, used them for an army and gathered powerful weaponry to kill other villages. How Viola David and John Boyega could support this movie is beyond me. I’d recommend to spread spread awareness of this Woke brainwash movie and please look into the true history yourself. Learn the facts and make a smart reasonable decision before watching or purchasing this movie.

The actual tribe was one of the worst ones when it came to the slave trade, even after slavery was being abolished here they were still trying to sell their own people to different countries. This movie is making a mockery of what actually happened, which is closer to a horror story they shouldn’t be honored.

In 1727, Dahomey conquered the Kingdom of Hueda, who lived along the coast, and took control of the port city of Ouidah, inaugurating its active participation in the Atlantic slave trade. Historians estimated that nearly one million enslaved Africans were put on ships to the Americas in Ouidah between 1659 and 1863. Did they not think people would research about the Dahomey! Just appalling!

First, they have a word for "woman king". That word is "queen". Shocking, I know. Nanisca is portrayed as anti-slavery, when in reality, the Agojie warriors had no moral qualms about enslaving neighboring tribes and profiting from the African slave trade. The filmmakers intentionally misrepresented a kingdom that trafficked tens of thousands of slaves themselves. Characters blame enslavement in Dahomey on the economic meddling of white traders although it was well-established in West Africa before the Europeans got involved. This practice continued until the British Empire ended the slave trade in the region. There’s a difference between stretching the truth and presenting the opposite of it. Sadly, many will watch this thinking it’s history. It’s not. It more woke Hollywood fiction.
