This had so much potential, but the camera work was terrible to the point of making someone motion sick. The story was crap, a street fighter who turns into super ninja in no time at all….SMH. The only good acting was done by the guy who played stormshadow. Everything else, a waste!

Don’t bother!

If you watch this as some kind of GI Joe purist you will find ways to criticize. However if your just want an entertaining movie, look no further.

I grew up on GI Joe. I loved the cartoon. Played with action figures and yes, am a woman to boot. But I have an unfortunate wake up call for the world, the characters that are being used from our youth, typically are not to exact representation.

That being said. As a stand alone. I found it to be it a good movie. I love the main actor’s work in other films and he did well here as well. There are a few plot points I did not agree with, a little slow at times, ergo the 4 stars. Good fight scenes. But overall a good film.

This is a decent action movie. Plot is sadly lacking, so does any resemblence of chemistry between cast. But I was entertained.

His one of the most beloved GIJ and movie is just so bad.

Way to go on insuring there will be a reboot of this. This story was so rushed. Pacing was aweful & telling lack imagination. Holy smokes! Whoever directed this and wrote the script needs to be on hiatus for quite some time. This bueno on this movie. Absolute NO! I would probably watch this on a holiday for free but not actually pay for this. 150 mil budget for this was a waste. Truly sad.

I seen at the theater a while ago. I’m sorry I wasted my money. Henry Golding was the only good thing about the movie.

The ratings are too low. This was a great movie..

I was really excited for this one but I really could not get behind the hero’s actions in this movie. Without spoiling, he was a real jerk and not really a character I’d ever set out to see another movie about again.

Didn’t correlate with past story lines but I’d have fo say the opening sequence storm shadows sword play was pretty awesome I think the Imagery was good would have been better with some more vivid colors I only gave 3 stars because they had something they could of done more with and that was disappointing but overall for most movies they did a far to good job but the nuance to B movies was unappealing.

Not good cast was bad story was worse what happened to original cast

When a director doesn't know how to film a fight scene, they use quick cuts, close ups and shakey cam. That describes the action in this movie. The script is poorly written to boot. There is some nice cinematography and beautiful scenery but that hardly makes up for the film's shortcomings.

Oh wow! No way this movie is that bad, but it is. This is me trying to reconcile it in my head, and I still can’t. Who is coming out with these scripts? No originality, and very and I mean very dull, cheesy, and poor acting. Please stop making movies like these. It is ruining all of my favorite G.I. Joe cartoon expectations.

The story was terrible and actors performed poorly. The story should’ve been better for such a character (Snake Eyes). The mystery of his silence and not revealing his identity in comics and both GI Joe’s movies made it awesome. This movie was the opposite of that. This director got the story wrong. I really don’t like to provide negative feedbacks, but I had to for such a poor movie to help other people not rent or buy. Please remake this movie with a different story.

I can’t believe I paid $19.99 to watch this movie. Regret is an understatement.

Grew up with GI JOE and was a massive fan of Snake Eyes as a kid. The toys, the comic books, the cartoons. Everything.

This movie turned an honorable character with a deep backstory into a conniving dishonest self-serving tool who only ends up doing the "right thing" after he realizes he's been played. Very disappointing. The acting was good for what is a tpyical action movie & the actors aren't to blame for the poor script. And the action scenes were exactly what everyone says: lots of fast movement with no details. This is the GI JOE version of the first Wolverine movie: Hollywood taking a property with an easily adaptable history and completely blowing it.

This movie isn’t that bad and is worth a watch if your remotely interested in the franchise. The movie could be better but that seems to be a common problem with a lot of recent films. The acting was good for the most part. The plot could have been better and if your really into snake eyes and the Joe’s there are some issues but if your just an average viewer here for some action and not a super in-depth story line then this move will be entertaining. I give it 4 stars because the potential was there for a much better movie but it wasn’t as bad as the critics made it seem.

Third rate acting. Almost anything was believable.

It didn't have a lot of unique action scenes and the fighting scenes were laughably impossible even for the legendary Snake Eyes. Twenty five men with swords and knives against two men with their fists? Come on man i know as they say it's just a movie but they'd be so dead really really dead. Not good acting either the actors didn't really make a hit except for the girl who was in the bill and Ted movie she's got it. Just no one else. The Japanese girl with the British accent was just weird i couldn't understand some of the things she was saying because Brits are hard to understand depending on if she was doing an accent or something reminded me of Hanah John Kamen although her accent is genuine. I like the gi Joe movies the second one the most but they coulda did a better job with this movie it was very unfinished as Alfred Hitchcock has said no bad movie just unfinished.

Saw it in imax format and thought it’s a pretty good action movie. Throw aside the garbage pc comments about not matching source material and you’ll find your time with this movie well spent. Props to Henry Golding for his awesome performance.

I thought me and my son could enjoy this movie but he wanted to leave 30 minutes into the movie and for me it was sad 😢 because they just put garbage 🗑 out these days. I wish I could have my free passes back and see a different movie 🎥. SAVE YOUR FREE PASSES AND YOUR MONEY 💵

This movie really suffers from a superficial plot if one can even call that a plot, bad dialogue, lacking or rushed action, and just overall a bad script.

We lost interest in the movie about 15 minutes in and should have just left instead of trying to make it all the way through. The beginning drags on and on and how they eventually get to the how snake eyes and storm shadow become enemies is so ridiculous and rushed and is the last 5-10 minutes of the movie.

If you really want to watch this movie - wait for it to be free on some platform.

As a long time GI Joe fan, I'm left wondering why we can't get a decent movie. This time producers went with what failed GI Joe bad in the mid to late 90's- too many ninjas. Maybe next they'll do Eco-Warriors. That's not t mention the story is so crazy it makes the Cobra-La movie plot seem grounded. Or that the action scenes are shakey and corny. Or that the acting is meh. Overall the movie is not fun, not cool, not Snake Eyes. Unfortunately, it is VERY GI Joe. At least what Joe has become over the last few decades - derivative fodder.

Take probably the most interesting origin story and character of all time and destroy and ruin it for absolutely no reason. To top it off, horrible camera action, cheesy dialogue, and just total disregard for the REAL and longtime fans of G.I. Joe. Anyone who likes this abysmal travesty is not and never was a knowledgeable fan of the Joes.

Nothing resembling the source material of any substance…not even true to the character in any real way. Inexplicable.

The movie is not good. He only wears the suit for 10 seconds. Snake is a butt, a total scum. He Is working for cobra knowing they killed people just to get revenge. They dropped the ball on the greatest GI Joe character of all time.

I saw it multiple times in the cinema great action I love that it’s filmed in Japan very authentic and storm shadow the actor who plays him stole the movie. Must see

Please stop mess with character race and origins story.

A truly entertaining movie ! Great back story wonderful character development. Intriguing suspenseful with great action & special effects

This movie is better then people say it is

When I heard this would be a total reboot from the previous two G.I. Joe films, I was skeptical at first. After watching this movie, I don’t think it’s really as bad as some people have been saying. I saw it over the weekend and I really enjoyed myself. Henry Golding did a good job as the character and I look forward to seeing what direction they go in the future. Storm Shadow was interesting, and Samara Weaving was an awesome Scarlett (mostly cause I’m a sucker for Aussie girls). 😍

Was it as good as the last two? Not quite, but it had its moments. However, Rise of Cobra will always be the best G.I. Joe movie hands down. The film is preordered and I look forward to adding it to my growing collection.

I admit it and it true I saw it in a movie theater yesterday and I had a blast with it from start to finish Henry Golding was really good as the character but Andrew koji was great as storm shadow I do hope we see more from this version of G.I Joe in the near future cus I really like this more than the previous 2 movies in the franchise and I highly recommend it for fans of the brand alone definite must buy!!!!!!!

I am a newbie to the gijoe fandom. But snake eyes was the first joe toy i ever got with stormshadow. Its a wonderfully cheesy and action packed ninja movie on par with Ninja Assassin! Worthy of collection with minor camera issues. But, the cast and story make up for it with sheer skill and energy that made me want more!

I’m almost every single fight scene it was super shaky camera work barely could see any details very unrealistic and literally no blood on the blades like they weren’t even killing or cutting anyone bad story snake eyes needed so much assistance and he Wears the suit AT THE END OF THE MOVIE! Like really? I just 2 hours of my time robbed. Snake eyes? More like Fake Eyes! Best character in my opinion was storm shadow
