Description

At the age of 85, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has developed a lengthy legal legacy while becoming an unexpected pop culture icon. But the unique personal journey of her rise to the nation's highest court has been largely unknown, even to some of her biggest fans – until now. RBG explores Ginsburg's life and career. From Betsy West and Julie Cohen, and co-produced by Storyville Films and CNN Films.

I like sci-fi and fantasy as much as everyone else but I like it when they try and make it sort of believable. Toy story had more of a realistic storyline and was more based on actual events than this movie was

Very well done. I wasn’t aware of her incredible impact on women’s rights earlier in her career. She’s a legend. Anyone saying it’s propaganda is either completely biased or living in an alternate universe. Her accomplishments are impressive regardless of your political persuasion.

I’d be willing to bet that most of the negative reviewers of this amazing documentary didn’t even have the courage to actually watch it. RBG is an incredibly brave and persistent fighter for equal rights and her history and her effect on our history is an incredible story. Powerful and inspiring!

The biggest waste of an hour-and-a-half in my life, that I’ll never get back. Just look at the cast and crew and that will tell you everything you need to know.

Didn’t know anything about RBG prior to this.

This was a total waist of money and I wish I could get my money back. Terrible story and the acting was even worse. I’m guessing the top reviews are friends and family. Spend your money somewhere else.

To the scum who call this movie trash and disparage this brave and decent woman. GET A LIFE AND FIND SOME DECENCY! This woman fought injustice with Grace and dignity. If you have a problem with 50 percent of the population having enqual rights you need to get your head checked

I wanted to see what all the rave reviews were about. I love a good documentary no matter the subject. That being said, I sat thru this film which could’ve been cut in half, really. If you’re on the left, you’ll love it. If you’re on the right, you’ll hate it. If you’re in the middle, you may find common ground... or not.

From the title cards and first music, this film enthralled me. With its portrait of a brilliant, meticulous, quiet, massively accomplished woman the film also illustrates the work of a judge and deftly connects this judge's life to that of her country. While manifestly sympathetic to its subject, it is not a hagiography. I loved the recurring descriptions from childhood friends and from RBG's kids, now grown adults. The film moves very fast, bringing you close to her marriage and to her work and personality. First-rate, with perfect moments of opera.

Surprised at how well done a documentary can be

Oh, look! Color me surprised! The only one-star reviews were from the Trumpsters here to disparage ‘the liberal agenda’ and not to comment on the actual movie itself. I don’t think these people even watched the movie or they would have seen that RBG actually championed the equal rights for both women AND men. In any case, politics aside, I thought this movie was very well put together. I saw it on an international flight and didn’t fall asleep even though it’s really a documentary and the drone of an airplane usually lulls me to sleep almost instantaneously. Will purchase it for a second viewing since it was somewhat hard to hear everything through those lousy earphones handed out by the airlines. Respect to this great woman who has dedicated her life to fighting injustices.

This documentary must be added to the Library of Congress to ensure it is never lost or forgotten. If we are in trying times now, think about how lost we would be if RBG didn’t fight for and take her place in the world of constitutional law, like she witnessed Justice Thurgood Marshall do for civil rights. “Let the meek say, ‘I am strong!’”

This documentary is amazing. Ruth Ginsburg has done amazing things for women AND men to ensure equal rights for all where gender is concerned. I find it hilarious that 99% of the negative reviews either say ‘liberal trash’ or something similar of NO SUBSTANCE. Which proves that the person is simply leaving a fake review and never bothered to watch the movie in the first place. RBG simply wants gender equality and works tirelessly for it, while forging unlikely friendships, and enduring great love and loss with her husband. It is definitely not to be missed and offers valuable insights into her character and helps people understand her better.

Well crafted documentary that offers insight into the personal life of a great American but, perhaps more importantly, shows the judge’s almost fifty years of tireless work to ensure equality for everyone under the law. Do not let the petulant reviews of idle and soulless misanthropes discourage from enjoying this very good and moving film.

All the negative comments are do to the 3 obstacles she’s felt and OVERCAME before. 1) she’s a women with feminist ideals for which she stands up for even today! 2) I’m sure after Charlottesville and the (NOT) supreme alt-right takes issue with being Jewish 3) Her family and family values
I mean there’s some poor review on here calling this documentary “an action film with cgi”..... seriously why write the lengthy review?
If anything go back to the old adage “if you have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all!
