This movie so boring. I never been so bored watching a movie. Stupid Movie

The trailer made the movie look like it would be worth watching. Watching the whole movie was a waste of time, breaths, and money. Don't waster your money.

If you've seen Paranormal Activity you've seen this movie. If you've seen horrible plots in a horrible movie you've seen this movie. If you are easily scared by predictable jump scares and running people in hallways you've seen this movie. Nothing new. Something less than trash.

I usually hate found footage movies, and had also lost faith in MNS. But this is pretty good! I kept expecting the twist to be one thing, and it was something else. Worth watching.

Haha…wow, after reading reviews I expected this to be awful even though I love all of MNS's movies-love Lady in the Water. This was so funny….. omg, and very scary. I was terrified and laughing the entire time- if you like Neil Gaiman you’ll love this.

This was extremely well done. Lots of twists and turns and not very cliché at all. A must-watch thriller (FYI, I was not a paid reviewer or anything).

Idk why everyone is saying that it's a bad film. It could just be that I'm not a big movie watcher, but unlike some other films I see, this one kept me interested and scared the whole time

Perfect for sleepovers, if you don't mind waking the neighbors. A lot of it is over the top so the "horror" becomes funny. It's a favorite of the middle-school crowd. Scary enough for screams, but you won't have to worry about getting scolding calls from parents.

Lame in every way. There was so much suspense that built us up to an ending where a little kid with a "haters love me" cap raps about old people? Also, was the ending supposed to make us sad? So ironic, considering the girl "filming" everything hated those type of movies. But that's none of my business... Ooo this tea is hot ☕️

Don’t waste your time of money. I had to think about it after a while as to why I even rented the movie - I guess I am a bit of a creep - i found the most thrilling part of the film was when the grandma walked away with 1/2 of her bum showing...

So you're saying these kids never saw pictures of her grandparents, never mind the fact that you drop your kids off at a train station to meet up with people you haven't talked to in 15 years???

All of the underage children who posted negative reviews are used to horror thrillers with no plot, but high on violence & degradation of women. This film is well-made, well-acted, and very creepy. Creepy because it's something that CAN really happen in real life.

So beyond boring I had to force myself to not turn it off within the first hour. Also the kids are so annoying especially the boy, you almost find yourself wanting something to happen to them so you don't have to hear them anymore

Quickly brought this movie back to the store and got my money back for it. Was really excited to see this and of course it was a let down. Don't waste your time or your money on this trash .

I love this movie. And I usually don't watch scary movies but this is not that scary at all! It is mostly funny when you think about it. There is violent stuff in it, but mostly at the end.😛 This should not be watched unless your at least 11. It's a great movie and I love the actors! There's swear words but it's a great movie. It's funny! 😂 Personally the only real scary part is at the end of the movie. There is say.... 2 jump scares? But you can tell when they come. I suggest you watch this excellent movie!!

Okay, it was not one bit scary. Like it should not be called a horror movie. This movie was HILARIOUS. I just wanted more and more. Just amazing.

I had not intended to write a review but when I saw the negative ones listed I felt compelled to put in my two cents.

My favorite genre is horror and I watch all the high end production films in that category.

The Visit was a highly original thriller/horror with elements of tongue in cheek humor that I found incredibly entertaining. It was funny, creepy and highly watchable and never took itself too seriously. Worth every penny.

I don't normally write reviews but I read some of the 'great' reviews this film received and had to say something. This movie is very juvenile and not worthy of M. Night. (He must be ashamed of it, too, because he doesn't even make a cameo.) The plot is about children going to visit their grandparents whom they had never met. Odd that their mother doesn't take them to meet them herself after being estranged for years. What follows is disgusting (a full diaper saved in the boy's face) and the twist, which might have been made into a far more interesting movie, is that the 'grandparents' are a) not the grandparents and b) nuts. It is a terrible waste of time and money. I had really looked forward to it but it was as #%>€*! as the diaper. Don't be misled by the good reviews; they are sorely misguided.

Highly enjoyed watching this...this is a classic m night twist story. This guy is the closest thing to Rod Serling that we have in modern times and when he delivers .. he delivers well. Nice job .. The twist will have you saying ohhhhhh snaaaaap.

M Night, a man who once said “I make a movie, and it becomes something..wonderful”. And a man who when asked about marrying a model responding “When I see something I take it”.

M Night, do what most terrible filmmakers do, go and teach at a film school and influence young artists how to make bad movies…so they know what to avoid.

Just a terrible movie. I keep trying to like these movies for some reason. This is a stupid, boring, thrill less, waste of time without even a lame twist. Just terrible. For those still wanting to try it, it is also not scary, intelligent, interesting, or entertaining.

Thought it might be a decent movie…theres no character development or anything, just gross factor by the time you get to the end..just move along…away from this movie

Not scary at all, very disappointed, feel like Apple owes me rental money back and the directors, actors and all who were involved in the making owe me an hour and half of my life back. Not a thriller by any means, and this coming from someone who gets scared easily.

Very bad movie which is really not worth watching. They know how to get who on the hook with the trailer and that's it. Poor poor.

I rarely review movies but I felt compelled to on this one. Just awful doesn’t even sum it up. Within the first 10 minutes the annoying little rapper (who can’t rap his way out of a paper bag) should’ve been the dead giveaway to stop watching. You can basically fast forward to the last 15 minutes of the movie at which point it gets mildly interesting but in no way makes up for the sheer torturous hour and 15 minutes you had to sit through prior.

This was Horrible!!! The trailer looks so much better then the movie itself. The plot is extremely predictable and the little boy with the lisp wrapping constantly just adds to the count of brain cells that rotted away during this movie. I really really really don't recommend.

Is this what passes for entertainment? The plot does have one good twist, but due to the other hour and forty minutes of pure boredom not even the Shyamalan-esque twist can save this film. This film is not scary in the least bit, unless you fear poorly written and poorly directed cinema. The producers of this film should be ashamed of themselves for exploiting the found footage genre and piggy backing off of marketing exploits in a way that completely misrepresents what they have produced. I have never felt this thoroughly robbed of my hard earned dollars and my precious time by hollywood. Shame, shame, shame on anyone associated with this film.

Were you hoping M.Night was returning to form with this new feature? Well dream on. A virtuoso display of pointless mediocrity, this is a film the world didn't need. The scariest thing about it is that it got made in the first place.

I found this movie to be very entertaining. It wasn't particularly horrific, and it's no super over-the-top epic - but isn't that what we like about Shyamalan?

This film hearkens back to the Unbreakable days, but keeps the classic M. Night real-life themes and stories with a dash of mystery and primal fear. The young actors have great chemistry as a brother/sister duo (was not expecting this). Shymalan is a master of misdirection, and this movie is no exception - it gets you going from start to finish. If you're a fan of his films, definitely check this out. If not - there's plenty of superhero movies out there for ya.

I know some people are saying this movie is annoying or not original but it is. It really is its creepy, and funny at times. Totally worth the money and it's a movie I will enjoy each time I watch it.

The trailer doesn’t let you know that this a first person movie, or that the boy raps (yes raps) 3 times in this movie! ARRGH! This was so bad, my family and I couldn’t wait for it to end.

Purchased the film after watching the trailer, which was compelling and scary. The film however was a different story. Terrible writing, even worse acting. The extras include a 'Making Of' featurette with M. Night Shyamalan waxing poetic on this ridiculous movie trying to pass as art. Save your coins. Rent it if you must; do not buy.

The movie was good yes, but the ending really killed it for me! 8/10-9/10 throughout the movie but ending was 3/10-4/10!

Finally M. Night is back!!!! This was so good, creepy and ridiculously strange - u got to love it. It reminds me of Devil. I enjoyed it and plan to add it my collection of other M. night movies.

M. Night strikes all the right chords. He brings it back to the basics - good storytelling, mood and characters that deliver. The classic Shyamalan twist is back and in full force. M. Night fans should add it this to their collection. Fans of the found footage and horror, it’s definitely worth renting.

I'm tired of movies that has the actors or actor holding a camera. There is a time and place for this, but not all the time. You have a movie with both kids holding a camera why? In a real world if something horrible about to happen that camera is gone. Movie directors lets get a grip with everybody holding a camera and let's get back to how a movie should be.

This movie is very bizarre. The terrible acting of the 2 children are not enough to make this film a classic MKS vision that is unique and always interesting if not brilliant. This film is not brilliance; but it is a reactive and strange tale from a really interesting sage.

Now to start off I don’t want to bash this movie as it was entertaining though massively predictable! They use scare tactics directly from other horror movies. (Paranormal Activity/Found Footage), Shinning, and a long list of others. It’s almost like the writer/director sat down and took an homage to a dozen horror movies and spun it into one movie and called it his own. Honestly I expected more from this director. It’s so sad that he’s hit this block, you know where he can’t put together another great movie (Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs). The little rapper kid was quite possibly the most annoying part so much so it made me want to turn it off. I stuck it out hoping it would improve, it didn’t. M. Night Shame on you, please go back to the drawing board and rethink your progression. You went from a promising writer/director to this B-rate. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy B-rate films too but obviously you are capable of so much more.

I loved it!! It may not have been as creepy as some of his other movies but I think that since it was partly a comedy that made up for it not being creepy.

This is definitely not a horror movie, even if it says it is. I only jumped at one part and it was just the kids playing with a door. This would definitely not be worth your money. Awful awful awful. Not worthy of horror films

I loved the movie, was slightly surprised at how funny it was, at the same time had many scary jump scenes. Be prepared to laugh and scream at times. Very interesting plot twist, it's rare to find a movie that's creepy and scary and at the same time funny so I tip my hat to M. Night. Not veryyyyy scary, more like a creepy comedy but I highly enjoyed it. I'd see it again and bring friends.

I just saw the movie, I'm walking out of the theatre right now and that movie was not even remotely scary. The only scary part of that was the jumpscares

I came into the movie not thinking it was going to be that good. I was pleasantly suprised. I screamed in the theater and I laughed!!!!!!! The ending was quite shocking. I JUST WANNA SEE IT AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!!!!!

ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE SCARY!! The creator wanted it to have a scare or two, but wanted 6 laughs for 7! When the plot twist came they were really good actors! The grandparents at there age were good actors too! The rapping was funny! He was not supposed "good" that's the point! People don't get it, it's a comedy movie with a twist! The grandma appears naked a few times, that wouldn't happen in a scary movie! People don't get the point! It's worthy of 5 stars!

This was a well made found footage film. It was both funny and horrific at the same time, which is a tricky thing to pull off. The characters are great, and acting is decent to great. This director is back on track.

Poor, poor, Shyamlan. It must have been terrible for him to peak so early in his career, considering how high expectations for him following The Six Sense were. And after so many plot twists and downright awful movies, I'm proud to say the man is BACK, with a surprisingly decent found footage horror film. No, it doesn't come close to matching the horror of The Sixth Sense, but then again, I don't expect it to. The acting by the child actors was pretty good (even if Ed Oxenbould's rapping was a little annoying at times) and it had some pretty creepy scenes/imagery that I will not reveal for the sake of spoiler alerts. It did drag a bit at times and the ending didn't really live up to the first 2/3 of the movie, but all that aside, Shyamalan, welcome back to success.

I have to give it credit because it was original and unique. I can't say I've ever seen a movie quite like this. However that's not enough. Overall the movie was not scary at all. It wasn't funny it was just really awkward and boring. The little boy rapping was just annoying and obnoxious. The grandparents were more gross then scary. Ugh it was just a mess. The twist in the third act was very random, but it did hold my attention for a good 10 min. The Visit is a very forgettable movie not worth the price of admission. Just wait for it to come on tv or Netflix.

Not worth the film its printed on. The kids are horribly acted- the kid is a 9 year old whitebread misogynistic "rapper". The girl is a 50 year old trapped in a 15 year old body. There is some subplot with a well that never goes anywhere. The mother tells some story at the end like we're supposed to care? Then more terrible acting. Literally the worst movie I've seen since "See Spot Run", and that's saying something. I want my 8 dollars back.
