This book does a great job conveying the difficulty of recovering from grief and moving on with your life. Dealing with the various complications that loss causes especially while trying to establish new relationships brings about a number of issues for Kate and Ryke. The author does a great job of building the romance while also being sensitive to backgrounds. The losses that each of them suffered are dealt with sensitively and not just as fodder for drama. There are points where I found myself getting really impatient with Kate and then forced myself to think about why I was having that reaction. As someone who had a similar loss I had to realize not everyone processes grief and loss the same way and I think that self reflection is a great way that this author was able to touch me as a reader.

I immediately bought the box set as soon as I finished reading this first book so I guess that's a highly recommend!

I really enjoyed reading this book. I read it straight thru. Both of the main characters were going through the grieving process but were in different places along that path. The book sounded sincere which is actually rare to find. I am definitely recommending this book to all my friends!

Loved this book! It was really emotional at times but wasn't too heavy. The connection between the characters was so perfect. I really enjoyed this; it's a must read.

Kate's indecision became a bit much about two thirds into the book...a decent read and Ryke was a very likable character.

I loved this book. I read it in a few hours and couldn't put it down. I don't normally buy books. I wait Til they are free on iBooks but not the next one I am downloading it now. I can't wait to read the continued story. Keep it up!

another amazing story by Brenda Rothert! Ryke is my new book crush, i need to watch more hockey. ;) a heartbreakingly beautiful story of loss, grief and the power of love!

This book is one of my all time favorites! The storyline is unique and the characters are amazing! I read it in one sitting because I simply could NOT put it down. It is the story of two people trying to find their way out of grief and learn to love again. There's also hot hockey players, too!
