When I initially heard about the book, I was immediately interested. It took me a while before I actually purchased and read the book though. I recently decided that I wanted to get back into reading and make it a permanent part of my lifestyle and regimen. This was a great start. I don't doubt that one would find a relatable area in their lives while reading this book. I appreciated the honesty and encouragement it provided. I don't doubt that this book will be a point of reference even if/when God sends me the person he has for me. I hope the same for anyone who reads it. ❤️

The things we don't say to ourselves. Everything we need to hear. Great read for the READY person ... that's what I honestly believe. Everything hit home with me and I receive it !!

Not a book for those already committed to a celibate life...it's for those who have are driven by sex to date and be in sexual relationships...total generalization...thy think everyone needs a lesson on celibacy...NOT!!! Some of us don't need this lesson! Meagan and DeVon are just trying to stay relevant and obtain the title of the perfect Hollywood and Christian couple which I have to say is a novelty these days, so they tapped into niche!

This couple is a cliche and a gimmick trying to stay relevant and they have exploited their dating and marriage to sell a message of celibacy and in the process have presented themselves as the "perfect couple" without actually having to say they are, which they would say if they could get away with it!

Just finished reading this book, & I must say it was so deep, so real, so motivational. I needed this book 4yrs ago. But now that I have it, I can't wait to apply these principles into my life! Always been ready for change, but of course their was fear... not anymore!!

I absolutely loved this book. I am actually reading it for a second time and decided to practice Celibacy!

For anyone - must read. Ground-breaking principles, advice, and encouragement. Makes you feel like you've got a friend in the authors. So well-written. Hope they write more in the future! They would make a killer marriage book!

This book is truly incredible. It will make you question your own truth and push you towards a better future. Definitely a gift from God! If I could I'd give it 6/5 stars!!

I'm a single mother & like many, I didn't set out to live this way. I truly wanted a family, I was engaged to my child's father but I prayed and asked God to show me if this was my husband & he proved he wasn't. Needless to say, it was after I conceived our beautiful baby. I love my daughter & I wouldn't trade her for anything in this world. I'm committed to doing the wait because I want to be blessed in my life more than ever. I have so much baggage to clean up and so many past mistakes to get over & I know that by doing the wait, I'll be able to focus on my true self! Thanks so much for this book!! I love this book and how practical it is. It really breaks "The Wait" down well. From why you should wait, what it looks like to wait, and how to get through it. Love the stories and examples they gave. Super helpful for anyone who is looking to honor God in their relationships and future marriage.

I started a book club with some young women at my church to read this book and it have been earthshaking to say the least for our lives! As for me it has allowed me to face my flaws as a woman growing in Christ and in my romantic relationships!! I can truly say THE WAIT has given me assurance that my God ordained marriage is on the Horizon because of my Faith in God's Will for my life! I'm blessed that God put it on The Franklin's hearts to write about their journey with honesty and transparency !! Thanks for a quick, and honest book !!! May God continue to bless your Union!!!

This books feels like you've stepped into a non-judgemental conversation with friends that are excited to share their journey to love. I'm So inspired and spoke to my heart. It's a must read. Even IF you can't imagine being celibate, they share great nuggets that make this book good for all.

I could hardly put it down. A great read and truly relatable to a young black millennial woman like me. I felt completely moved. Not only did reading this allow me to consider celibacy in a completely new way, but it also helped me reconnect with God in a way that I hadn't before.

I wanted to read this book a little while ago but I was not ready to pick it up just yet. Last week God told me it was time and reminded me of this book. I cannot explain how amazing this book is. It has touched many parts of my life and I am happy to have started my journey - the wait- with this book.

This book gives advice on how to date. The questions to ask potential partners. Fears of dating and how to overcome. Their testimony gives me to power to go out and date successfully to give God glory. Must read!!!!

This is a topic that I have struggled with for many years. I have struggled with the thought of becoming celibate. I've gone back-and-forth and have fallen to the pressures of Society. This book definitely helped me to find the proper focus I need to become successful in my relationship with God, life, and love.

This book is very easy to read. It's Bible based and appropriate for all individuals pursing relationships. It's very practical and straightforward regarding many topics that are not spoken of often.

Awesome read! I recommended it to a handful of close friends. I find that (since I just finished the book recently) that I'm talking about it w/ my Spanish speaking colleagues. They, of course, ask me if there is a Spanish version and I'm left w/ an empty feeling in my gut in telling them that there isn't.

Me, being a first generation Mexican-American in Northern CA can see first hand the tragedy of young women of color (Latin women especially) being forced to be mothers earlier than they expected, and in worse cases ending up in a situation where they end up having to be the "mami" AND a "papi".

This message needs to be delivered to our Latin brothers and sisters.

I have been going back and forth with this waiting thing for a long time. This is my first time reading a book on the subject. I appreciate that they discussed God and he was at the core of the book, but it was never preachy or damning. There were times I felt things were redundant, but I understand that maybe not every reader got it he first time around. And a lot of the principles and practices lead back to one another.

The book is a good resource for anyone considering a change in their life.

I am so glad to have read The Wait! It has given me plenty of useful nuggets of information and planted seeds of wisdom! It was as if each question that I had while reading was answered. I thank God for their beautiful marriage and them for blessing us all with this book!

Amazing book, I loved that it didn't demand you choose to do The Wait, but told the story of why they chose to wait and how it benefited them. For a Christian book I find that phenomenal. I also appreciated the focus on the relationship with God versus it being a "religious" book detailed Ruth a list of commands. This book has definitely benefited my life in multiple aspects.

Great Read!

For the first time since maybe middle school (roughly 15+ years lol)I found a book that I was able to finish. The Wait held my attention from start to finish. It is truly a blessing to know that there are others out there who believe that a great, faith-based relationship is worth waiting for. Like Meagan I believe God has revealed my husband to me and in my faithfulness I have watched our dance and relationship grow closer and closer. However it didn't start happening until I took the focus off of the us and put it into myself. The journey to finding my most authentic self has been an Amazing experience and as I scratch the surface of the many blessings God has bestowed on my life I'm excited to continue waiting while God continues to do his part. It has been so rewarding in ways that I could never have imagined. I pray that anyone who is looking to start this journey find the strength, wisdom, and discipline to stride boldly in God's purpose, trusting and believing that His will is greater than our own. How this book gives you that motivation, breathe of life, being closer to yourself but God also. I ❤️ this book. I recommend reading this book. It's all worth it at the end.

Wow ! This book was truly a blessing to my life, and a great encourage. Whether you choose to wait or not I think you should at least read the book and see if you change your mind, if you don't it is okay. I loved the waiting perspectives from both Megan and Devon a female and male perspective for all to read. I love how honest and open they were about their stories and past relationships. I loved the non-judgmental tone of the book. It really captures the modern Christian and glorifies God in the highest.

I only see women reposting or talking about this book, so I gave it a read. I read through this in about 4 days. Great book, great advice, and gave a new perspective on a lot of things. Especially chapter 6!!!! I'll def be recommending this to my fellas.

I needed this so much! I'm sooooo thankful this book exists. In a day and age that it's basically taboo to be in my mid-twenties and celibate and wanting to wait AND BEING HAPPY, this book was the encouragement I needed to keep going. And the pat on the back telling me I'm doing what's right. I couldn't put this book down, I read it in a day. If you haven't purchased please do, and then gift someone with it. You never know who's considering the wait but needs that extra push or encouraging word to put and or keep them on the right path. God bless!

This book is definitely a must read. Especially for our generation. So many relationships now of days are worldly dating instead of doing it Gods way. It definitely blessed me because I was almost about to give up and go back to my old ways, but this just put a fire in me to continue trust in God. Work on myself first, get a deeper relationship with Jesus. Learn and grow more.

This book is incredible! I would highly recommend it whether you agree with the general concept of "the wait" or not. The focus of the book is Megan and Devon's experience in celibacy. However, the concepts of the book have a practical application that can be used in various life experiences requiring patience and discipline.

The wait book was so good it had some great information in there and I learned a lot bout myself and self -worth and why waiting is very important and it just gives me a big out look on life and stuff and thing The younger generation need to read it and I'm 23 yard old women and this is by far the best book I have read in my life so more people need to read this book they will learn something from it no doubt about.

First of all I never take the time to write a review. However this book is an amazing read, finished it in a week. This book puts self worth back into perspective and to wait on God. This book encourages self love and growth. A must read for this lost generation.

A quick read with practical teachings and checklists to keep yourself in check. Enjoyed the casual yet relevant writing style, incorporating both the female and male perspectives. The Wait really gives you a lot to think about, and most importantly leaves you walking away with a plan and hope.
