This is a great book

A loving son writing about his father - you forget about the roles each played on the global stage of life.

Having lived through most of the events described in the book it was an honor to have the family based insight of how these historical events were addressed in the fabric of a publicly dedicated family.

43s writing style is down home and factual sharing the good and bad perspectives of the events. He did not dodge the negative events and clearly acknowledged the impact.

I would recommend this book highly to anyone who needs to understand what a great man did to serve his country greatly.

I was really excited to read the book but was disappointed because as sincere and thoughtful as the Bush family appears to be they will always disappoint the middle class because they are owned and committed to the very wealthiest people in the world. George W. wrote nothing in his self serving biography of his father's career that changed my mind.

Unique and Entertaining

It is an unusual thing to read the words of a former president on a former president, who happens to also be his father. This has humanized two people for me who before were only far-off subjects defined by my version of sound-bite reality. It was also pretty funny. You could tell by tue not-quite professional writing that George W. really wrote this. It wasn't exhausting to read like a real hardcore biography.

An amazing life

An easy and great read. Learned some new things and came away with a deeper appreciation of George HW Bush. You can feel the love and admiration of the son for his father. I have many of the same emotions for my Dad, who also serves as my inspiration and role model.

This is a great book about a father who left a legacy because he was left a great legacy. This legacy was a Godly heritage steeped in righteous truth that wasn't always easy but this legacy produced results that changed the world. Thank God for parents like these who are striving to leave a legacy to their kids. Every parent should read this book.

Excellent Recount of a Great man's life

This book was written from the heart and depicted the great work that George H.W. Bush has done in his life. He was born into a great family and could have taken the easy route to fortune but worked hard and made a life for himself and his family based on integrity and doing what is right. George W. Bush's account of his father's life is accurate and well written. Well done W, you have made your father proud and allowed millions of Americans who admire him to know him better in the process!

Excellent!

A great book about a great man. George W. Bush articulates the depth of respect and admiration most of us feel toward his father, George H. W. Bush. My favorite aspects were the simple leadership lessons that were sprinkled throughout the book. This is an excellent and rare insight into two significant American presidents.

Great read!!

I was left wanting to know more about G H Bush's life and the whole Bush family tree all the way back to when the family came to America..... Do a book on Barbara Bush too and her family tree....Those would be fascinating stories!!
