In this volume, with deft keystrokes and digital color, writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Acapulco provide a Joker story that perhaps eclipses even Alan Moore and Brian Bolland's The Killing Joke. The genre is Lovecraftian horror, and the haunting visual, referenced over and over, is the Joker's own face, which he himself has removed to leave for Batman as a portent of sadism to come. Terrifying.

This is a great Batman Story, And Easily in my opinion the Best Batman story of The New 52. It definitely lives up to the hype it had. It is Very Suspenseful, Dark, Gritty and all in all Disturbing, Which is what the story was supposed to be and it definitely nailed it. I give it 5 Stars

This is the definition of a good joker story. Snyder shows the clown prince in a whole new light, who now seemingly has a twisted love for the Dark Knight. It explores the joker as a character more than any other story, even the Killing Joke! You'd have to be crazy (get it?) not to read this book!

Great story😑🤗

I absolutely love the Joker! He is definitely my favorite villain!! So I have very high standards for a Joker story, and this exceed my standards greatly!! I love the way they brought the Joker back! A way that I'm sure even the Joker himself would approve. Definitely the best In the series so far

This is probably one of the best comics. Ever. From beginning to end you're captivated by the Joker's insanity. The Batman New 52 series has always been the best, and this is the best of the best.

Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo have done it yet again! For my money, this is even better than Court of Owls and nearly on par with The Black Mirror. I don't say that lightly. Grade: A+

It's really good...but things are missing.

When I heard about the Death of the Family, I decided to wait for the trade to come out, because I thought it would have all the separate issues. I thought it would have the Robin, issue, the Red Robin Issue, the Red Hood Issue, the Batgirl Issue, and the Nightwing Issue. Those are the issues that joker kidnaps them, and they're MISSING. They're not here, and it annoys me, because now I have to buy those individual issues on iBooks or ComiXology. Thanks DC.

The best of the series so far

If you liked other New 52 Batman comics, this is a must-read. Combining mystery, suspense, and horror, this is he best arc of Batman in the last couple years.
