I purchased, and in fact still own, the first edition of the Makeup, Hair and Wardrobe Styling Career Guide which was released (as a print volume, obviously) in 1994. I was a total neophyte with starry eyes and absolutely no practical idea of how to make my dreams into a reality. Flash-forward 21 years later, and I am a working media makeup artist and have been for about 15 or so years. This is what the Career Guide has done for myself and many other artists. I would urge anyone who wants to develop a career as a beauty professional in the creative industries to purchase this book. Having been a decision maker as an agency owner, Ms. Wright offers information from a unique and invaluable viewpoint. She knows what it takes for an artist to work in this industry because she was directly responsible for guiding and crafting the careers of many very successful artists. She promises no quick fixes or get rich quick schemes, but for those willing to do the work she lays out the Blueprint.

Crystal has written an incredible, detailed book on how to break into the industry with EVERYTHING you need to know. There's nothing out there like it! As a freelancer (or someone trying to become a freelancer) THIS is your answer to getting started. All it takes is this book and a lot of gumption to get out there and go for it. She knows the industry well and leaves nothing out. My career is on the right track because of this book. You will thank yourself for making this (small) investment.

I am so excited to finally have a digital copy of this amazing book! Crystal has been a mentor for years and this guide is a essential tool for any freelancer. I look forward to having easy access to this information whenever I'm away from the physical book at home or just feel like reading it from my tablet. Seriously if you want the tools to help you achieve your goals and know how to make them happen and who you should be reaching out to in the industry to get the type of paid work you are looking for, don't hesitate on getting this book!

The physical book has always been the road map on my Freelance journey. Providing everything from how to network with photographers and other talents to how to do the paperwork that's invovlved. But what's wonderful about this edition is that it's electronic, making it go mobile and always easily availible on any of my apple gadgets. And what's also special about this edition is that for the first time in it's history's there is emphasis and example on showing a Manicurist how to take their career beyond the table.
