I am enjoying Geoff Johns' "Batman: Earth One" series more than this series, but "Superman: Earth One" is good as well. From the look of things, "Man of Steel" is probably based off of this. But we'll find out eventually.
Let's talk about the good stuff first. Unlike "Batman: Earth One", this book takes time to show how Clark Kent became Superman, why he wears the glasses, and why he chose to work at the Daily Planet. It's established early in the book that Clark doesn't know what he wants to do with his life. What also got to me was how they said Krypton blew up. I won't spoil it for you, but it's very interesting. The artwork isn't bad, either. Clark is drawn the way you would imagine him starting his career as Superman: in his 20's. Kind of cool that this Superman is around my age.
The only problem I have is that I think "Batman: Earth One" had a better cliffhanger. But it still shows that a sequel was going to come out. I'm really looking forward to reading the sequel.
