The New York Times bestseller is now a major motion picture starring Emma Roberts and Dave Franco, in theaters this July!
A high-stakes online game of dares turns deadly
When Vee is picked to be a player in NERVE, an anonymous game of dares broadcast live online, she discovers that the game knows her. They tempt her with prizes taken from her ThisIsMe page and team her up with the perfect boy, sizzling-hot Ian. At first it's exhilarating--Vee and Ian's fans cheer them on to riskier dares with higher stakes. But the game takes a twisted turn when they're directed to a secret location with five other players for the Grand Prize round. Suddenly they're playing all or nothing, with their lives on the line. Just how far will Vee go before she loses NERVE?
Debut author Jeanne Ryan delivers an un-putdownable suspense thriller.

Nothing like the movie. At all

I watched the movie first and was expecting to just read the movie plot when I picked up the book. Not at all. The movie doesn't follow the book at all and I'm glad to say that Nerve the book is a million and 6 times better.

Awesome book

This book kept me on my toes the whole time. It has a great combination of romance and action while also displaying a great point. The overall story is changed a lot for the movie, which makes it so you don't know exactly what will happen.

Meh...

In all honesty, I read this just so I could watch the movie now that it's coming out. The writing is simple and somewhat bland, but the suspense and action are what kept me going. Her romance with Ian seemed a bit rushed, but it started to settle down as the book progressed. I felt there were some scenes and facts the book included that went nowhere, or some scenes that I thought would turn into a big blow up that ended up just fizzling. If you're a middle schooler that wants some food for thought on today's generation, it's definitely the book for you.

Jeanne Ryan

I've read both of Ryan's books and both plots are fantastic.
