Description

An Apple Books Classic edition.
“Alone-it is wonderful how little a man can do alone! To rob a little, to hurt a little, and there is the end.” What would you do if you were became invisible? Would you use that power for good, or would you become consumed with the freedom it afforded you? Griffin, the antihero of H.G. Wells’ classic novel, definitely belongs to the latter school of thought. A misunderstood genius with albinism, Griffin has suffered taunts and isolation his whole life. As he descends into madness, his plans become far darker than simple revenge on those who have wronged him.
In addition to this creepy novel, H.G. Wells-who is widely seen as the father of science fiction-also wrote The War of the Worlds, The Time Machine, and The Island of Doctor Moreau;. Besides killer plots, his work provides chilling insight on human nature. The Invisible Manis a story about cruelty, curiosity, and unfettered power. Read it-and you’ll immediately notice its inescapable influence on modern literature, movies, and comic books.

I am not one to read books very often but in the case of the Invisible Man, I could not stop reading and wanted even more when the books 417 pages were finished. This is an overall amazing book and you should defiantly consider buying it.

Book is great, this edition is censored

Inexplicably, this version uses euphemisms where Wells used the N word. While that word is no longer acceptable in most contexts today, there is no valid reason for this edition to censor Wells original words, no matter how offensive they might be. To censor without notice is an even more diabolical form of revisionism. I hope the producers of this ebook correct their error.

Wow! The invisible man is not a very nice fellow! This book was a much more coherent narrative than "The Time Machine" which is the only other HG Wells I've read. This was a good story. Not amazing or anything, but good.

Great Story!

Amazing to read and incredibly interesting, the invisible man is one of the best books I have read. I am in eight grade and although there was some difficult vocabulary. I could understand it with ease. Not the quickest read but an extremely interesting book I would recommend to anyone.

Another wonderful classic!

This was my first novel by H.G. Wells and I loved every word. A delightful tale about the evil side of mankind. It is universal theme that is readily applicable today.

This book is wonderfully written. Great plot, story, theme, and morals. It gets a bit wordy and confusing but stick with it. I enjoyed it very much.

Although I did enjoy this book, it did not live up to my expectations. The plot was very weak and predictable. It may be hard to understand if you read below a high school or college level.
