Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is, without a doubt, the true king of mystery (Agatha Christie being the queen, of course). I am a 13 year old girl, and already, I have read the entire collection. Doyle keeps his readers enthralled, hanging on until the bitter end, with his ingenious red herrings, his seemingly complex and insoluble mysteries, and, of course, the Great Detective himself. Sherlock Holmes is truly at his best here, whether he be waiting to ambush a gold thief, or simply smoking his pipe by the fire, "spinning fine theories," in the words of DI Lestrade. And you will love every second of it.
