engaging
This was a good book that I looked forward to reading. There are a lot of references to fashion and pop culture, and other materialistic interests, some of which I understood, and some of which I had to look up. (I'm not from southern California, and don't really follow entertainment/fashion news.) I liked it because it was a realistic fiction account of someone's reality that was very different from mine. I liked picturing myself in that world, which made me relate to one of the main characters who basically goes from rags to riches. To me, conflicting emotions and strength of personality are likable elements of a character, and this book has both.
