I am very disappointed with this book. The beginning started out ok. Based on past books I've read, books usually start out slow and get better after a couple chapters when the plot is setup but it was not the case with this book. The second half of the book was specially frustrating for me as it seemed the author kept repeating the same message over and over again. It was draining to read to say the least. The last 100 pages I was able to read in around an hour because I was looking for any sort of insightful information that would cause me to slow down my reading and contemplate a little more but it just didn't happen. Very surprised that this book got the reviews it did and I felt compelled to write my first ever book review because of how bad this book actually was. Read at your own risk.

Short and simple, easy to pick up and read and doesn't take weeks to finish

It's been a while since I took out some time to sit and read a book in less than a day. I don't even believe I have ever highlighted as much as I just have in the last couple of hours. I am overcome with emotions I cannot explain, however I do feel a lot of peace within. As I type these words I have tears in my eyes, I have learned a lot.. and I'm sure I will have to scan through the book again to begin embedding these words into my mind. Someone I was in disagreement with sent me this book, and at first when I began reading it I wondered why would they send me this? Have they even read anything in this book? Because their poisonous words and actions toward me were not in alignment with this book. But then I had to stop myself. Whatever is done to me, I cannot control.. but I can control my emotions towards it. Instead of me adding fuel to the fire I could've simply let it go, and continued to just love as this book states. If I felt in any way that I was being abused, I could've simply walked away. You have to accept people the way they are, and if you can't then you must move on.. in order for you to continue living in perfect harmony with self.

I read this book in 2 days. It's an interesting new way to view my upbringing and opened my mind to a different thought process.

Must read!

You could edit this down to a page for each agreement. Endlessly repetitious and verbose to the extreme. Simply read the chapter head for each agreement at your local bookstore. Don't lie, cheat or steal and always do your best, my Dad taught me. That is what you need to go through life.

Nothing new here. These sentiments have been expressed since the Vedic hymns, through Buddhism, Confucianism, Shintoism, Christianity ( no matter how perverted ) and every new age manual since the 1960's. Did the Toltecs really leave and record of this stuff...I think not.

This book helped me a lot! It helped me to forgive myself, others and accept my past yet move on happily. It has taught me so much, it's hard to explain but I love this book. It's not a book you just read once, it's a book you have throughout your lifetime to read again & again (: I recommend this book to all my friends & family.

I read this book when it was first published. I bought copies later for my family and friends. One special friend was my mentor and hypnotherapist. He loved this book so much that he made it required reading for all of his clients. I can't say enough good about the principles in this book. Assumptions "used to be" my thing and whoever knew what sorrow I was creating in my own life. This little book has helped me immeasurably and I thank the author and suggest it be read, learned, practiced and read again.

Not worth the investment. Some good ideas and principles are found between the covers, but they are often presented as absolutes and oversimplified.
