Description

What happens when a boxer finds chemistry with a geek?

Parker Brown can’t believe she needs to hire a fake boyfriend. When she landed her dream job in renewable energy, she thought she’d be entering a world at the forefront of progressive thinking. But the head boss prefers to promote employees who are “settled.” Thankfully, she’s found the perfect candidate, a fellow intellectual looking for some quick cash. What Parker gets is his protective big brother—Rhys Morgan. The tall, muscled ex-boxer with a foul mouth shows up just as her boss does, and now she’s stuck with the manipulative jerk.

Responsibility weighs heavily on Rhys. Now permanently out of the ring, he’s trying to hold together his late father’s gym and keep his younger brother, Dean, on the straight and narrow. To save Dean from himself, Rhys takes his place, ready to give this society girl a piece of his mind. Instead, he finds an opportunity. Even though they can hardly stand each other, posing as Parker’s boyfriend is a win-win deal. She gets to keep her job, and he’ll charm her star-struck boss into sponsoring his gym.

Problem is, they can barely keep their hands off each other. And what started as an easy deal isn’t so easy anymore. Because what future can a rough ex-boxer, afraid to open his heart, and a polished society geek, who has sworn off real relationships, possibly have?
They say opposites attract. These opposites are about to combust on impact.

The Environmentalist and the Boxer

I LOVE sweet romance! I enjoyed the chemistry of the heroine and hero. I loved a look into boxing. If you love a happy ending, this book is for you.♥️

Boring

The character development was really lacking in this book. The authors put such a heavy emphasis on climate change and social justice that they ended up with a really lack-luster heroine. I’ve read and loved other Samantha Young books and this did not hold up.

Loved!

Wow! This was such an adorable, sweet, sassy, hot, and opposites attract romantic story. There were times when real life was calling me and I didn't want to let go of Parker and Rhys. Now I don't think I have ever read Kristen Callihan before but this brain child with Samantha Young is exactly what I needed in my life. I hope they venture to tell more tales together set within this universe... *hint, hint* you dropped enough breadcrumbs in the story to make it happen. The door is wide open please step on through.
Parker is this super smart big brained, minimal carbon footprint, sassy woman in a small package on a mission to land her dream job. Except even at this time and age unfortunately there are still some jobs not fully accessible to a single woman. To land her spot in male dominated field she must be (and I try to contain my fury here) in a relationship and/or married. Hence, enter Dean, well no actually strike that... enter Rhys, Dean's big brother, failing gym owner, and ex-professional heavyweight boxer with the world on his shoulders.
In trying to stop his little brother become an escort for Parker somehow he takes his spot in being pretend boyfriend with monetary incentive. Seems like a big win for all - Parker will get her dream job and Rhys will get some money and possibly sponsorship to save his legacy - the gym. Except both get so much more once they realize how well they are together and how perfect they are. Once they both gather enough courage to admit that to each other, of course.
There is major drama for both parties and I feel like it ties off perfectly giving our MCs a well deserved happily ever after. And if Parker doesn't want Rhys I will gladly take him from her hands... if only.
If you are looking for sassy banter, great characters, and even sexier times then look no further than this duo sensation release.

Slow start but ended up getting hooked

This book was a bit of a slow start for me, but it did end up hooking me and not letting go. Although I liked Parker and Rhys, initially I didn’t feel the chemistry between them. Once I felt the connection, I enjoyed them together, whether they were arguing or getting along. There was a good bit of drama, though nothing over the top. It was handled well and everything wrapped up nicely. Samantha and Kristen make an excellent writing duo and I would definitely read another collaboration by them.

Knock out!

Amazing!!! This book was absolutely fabulous! Rhys never thought that when he locked his brother in the closet his life was about to change. Especially, when he comes face to face with “Tinker Bell”. He carries so much on his shoulders. Needs a way to save his gym. When he meets Parker, he finds out that there might be a way to do that. But will he get more than he bargained for? Or will he find true happiness?
Parker was a people pleaser. Never wanted to let her parents down. And loved her job so much. So when she needs to show her colleagues and her bosses boss that she was in a committed relationship, an idea comes to mind. However, she never expected Rhys. Can she please everyone? Or does she find something she didn’t even realize she needed?
This book hooks you from the beginning. I think I didn’t stop smiling through the whole book. I honestly think I even laughed out loud. I like how we get to read both Rhys and Parker’s points of view. I love that! I feel it gives you more understanding of what each person is thinking and feeling.
This book is a true “knock out”!

Unexpected Love

Parker Brown was trying to impress her boss to obtain a permanent position with her dream job and she thought hiring a fake boyfriend was the answer. Rhy Morgan was not what she was expecting but he was definitely the answer!

A Knockout!

This wasn’t exactly what I was expecting but it was oh so much better!
Outmatched was written by authors Kristen Callihan and Samantha Young. Having been a longtime fan of Kristen Callihan, I was looking forward to this one. And it was just delightful.
Outmatched is a romantic pairing of necessity that morphs into something stronger and more permanent. Parker Brown is a nerdy environmentalist who is working to achieve a more permanent position with her current employer. And in order to appear more valuable and worthy of the offer, decides to hire a date to pose as her long term boyfriend.
Rhys Morgan is a former boxing champion who is now the head of his household and parent figure to his younger brother. He also finds himself in a financial bind with the family business. Rhys steps into the position of Parker’s boyfriend as a way to earn some extra money and perhaps find a sponsor for his family gym business. What he doesn’t realize with this new endeavor is that he will be forced to deal with some of his demons and that he’s met his match with Parker.
Both characters are highly relatable and their storyline is fun. The situation that both are presented with could easily happen in reality. Plus the not so nice, egotistical boss is just a jerk and not a very likable guy - as he shouldn’t be.
Outmatched is a lot of fun and worthy of your time to check it out.
