Description

He's big.
He's sexy.
And he's hung.
The first time I met Pick Revere I tried to bash his head in with a baseball bat. The second time, I kissed the ever-loving daylights out of him on a dare. For a girl who's on the lam and hiding from her cop ex, I'm failing miserably at laying low. Instead, I'm going up in delicious flames—because Pick's the hottest, roughest, toughest bad boy firefighter I've ever laid eyes (or lips) on. He promises he has a big hose—and knows how to use it. I'd investigate, but I need my job as a cook at the fire camp. I'm supposed to serve my hotshot breakfast—not me. I'm supposed to keep my secrets. And I'm definitely supposed to stay single.
But I'm not prepared for what happens after our kiss. Pick's magnetic and dangerous. He's short-term fun—not Mr. Commitment. But then he volunteers to be my muscle when my douche ex tracks me down. And I shouldn't want more than that.
But I do.
I should run as fast as I could from Pick.
But I won't.
Because he sets me on fire and you know what they say about firefighters—the hotter you get, the faster they come. How's a gal to say no?
This full-length standalone from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Anne Marsh is full of dirty swoonworthy hotshot firefighters that know how to use their hoses and who are about to learn how to use their hearts. This novel was originally published as a much shorter and tamer novella by eKensington and has been completely rewritten. The book is twice as big... and so are the hoses.

Couldn’t finish the book

I was really looking forward to reading this book. The description seemed like it would have a good plot and story line. It does, but the writing style is so awful. It feels very immature and there is too much internal monologue talking to a third person ( like Deadpool talking to the camera). I kept having to read read parts of the book to figure out what was going on. I felt like thoughts just jumped around too much and it was hard to follow along.
I felt like I had to force myself to keep reading because I purchased the book, but I just could not finish it. Got to about 1/3 and called it quits.

Hose me down anytime

That was deliciously delightful. I enjoyed the banter between Pick, great name by the way and Sarah Jo. Every woman should love a strong hot firefighter to protect her. He’s strong, brave, and sensational. What a guy. I’m intrigued to find out how Hunter and Lola’s story began so I’m definitely looking forward to reading it.

Hot!

If you’re a delicate flower....still read anyways! Has hot, direct in your face interactions with likable characters and a great HEA without a cliffhanger. Love me a hot alpha male that wants to Start you on fire and puts out the fire over and over again!

No conclusion

There’s no plot or “bad guy”. The ex boyfriend who is a deputy is just bitter about the breakup. The deputy didn’t really do anything or pose a threat to Sarah in the book. A girls/boys inner demons aren’t enough to make a plot for a book. Literally all the inner dialogue a character in the book is them fighting their insecurities. There always needs to be a physical bad guy. The book can’t be completely a battle of the mind, or else it’s just a journal or monologue.

Good story, but lots of cursing

The colorful language was excessive enough I almost stopped after the first few chapters. The story was good, but it would have been more enjoyable if the language was toned down.
