Every word every page is felt.

The first few pages I read through (of course I couldn't sleep) was so disturbing. Kicks off with a girl being raped?! REALLY?! Can that be disclosed BEFORE I BUY THE BOOK?! 😫 Ugh. Deleted. I'm sure it's a great book for someone who can sit through those first few pages. It didn't sit well with me.

This is an amazing book. I saw a few friend post about it and I had to read this book. I read it all in one night. I couldn't stop!😍

Instead of Milk and Honey, they should've just titled the book "Men are pigs and they should all die, die, die". Or maybe a more realistic title would be "500 things I hate about myself based on men."

This is not a book on poetry, it is a book blaming men for all her problems. And that's just Chapter 1.

Chapter 2 reads just like a horny 15 year old girls Tumblr. Full of the sex she doesn't really want but is curious about. And then the ramblings of a horny 15 year old masturbating. "You talk too much" he whispers in my ear. "I can think of better things to do with that mouth." Really some quality Pulitzer Prize winning stuff here. Then she has sex. Not just sex but lots of tongues, so naughty oh I love you. You complete me. A total Snoozefest and reminds me of those free Fabio sex books. There's a reason they're free.

Chapter 3 she gets dumped. The old Pump and Dump. The Hit it and quit it. Welcome to the real world. Maybe if you would have let him play his video games for 5 seconds without interrupting him constantly, things would be all Cinderella. But no. We only bought you flowers and told you you were pretty because we wanted in your pants. We are Pigs! Remember? The ultimate enemy. It's not you, it's us!

And finally the ending, Chapter 4. Acceptance of the pump and dump. "I am a strong independent black woman who don't need no man! Imma get fat and love my body because a man don't determine who I am!" In this chapter you eat a lot of ice cream, watch a lot of Netflix and snuggle with a lot of blankies and cats - and worst of all, you post these depressing pictures on your Snapchat. You become distant and unpleasant to be around. Then you realize that all your other female friends are acting the same way. HEY WAIT A MINUTE. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT ME! Oh. You got hit and quit too? LETS ALL BAND TOGETHER AND HAVE GUACAMOLE TOAST FOR LUNCH AND POST BLURRY PICTURES OF OUR BEDROOMS! We can talk about how these it's these men who have made us what we are. But don't invite Becky. God we hate her, right!?

Then what the author doesn't reveal to you is that life is like a Groundhog Day movie where you repeat Chapters 1 through 4 for the rest of your life and wonder why you're miserable. MEN? Oh but they are so adorable when they listen to my feelings... and start Chapter 1 again.

Save your $10. You're gonna need it for the ice cream.

Yaaaas, it's amazing.

This book is about how boys treat girls and that u need to believe in your self.

This has been such an amazing reading excerpt. It only took me an hour to read but I felt so many different emotions, throughout. So worth the buy...all from A recommendation, which is evident how amazing this author is by just this one book. Can't wait to read more from her.

This was just breathe taking. I can say more beside just see for yourself. It will speak to you as a regardless. Her simplicity is mesmerizing. While it is simple it explains such complex emotions that many can't identify.

Before I read this book, I had the strongest pain on my chest. The type you get when your heart aches and you can't breathe. Although while

reading this, it has soothed me in a way only a mother can when he Baby is crying. I am so at peace with myself. Thank you so much for this book. Thank you so much for you.

this book is outstanding. it shows you the true emotion behind words on a page. when it's on a book in ink you can hear the emotion like in a movie or song. she made it happen with words. that makes her extremely amazing.

I stumbled across this book after someone shared a single, random passage from it on Facebook. And that was it. I just HAD TO read whatever more this amazing writer had written...and I was blown away by the raw emotion etched over every word in this book! Sparse verses might fill this book but their meanings lie somewhere deep within us. Every one reading this book is bound to remember something from their own lives. And that's just the beginning.

I saw one of the drawings on tumblr and loved it so much, Not knowing that it came straight out of this book. A few friends had read it and I thought, maybe I should give it a shot! This is the best book I've read in a long time. I'm a young women who's had lots of heart break and struggles with finding love and also loving myself. Plus, I'm into poetry as well so as anyone would assume...this book filled my heart. I was hooked within the first page! I couldn't put it down. I recommend this to any woman of any age. Thank you Rupi for giving woman like me, hope and guidance.

This book was so awesome! I loved how each chapter was a different aspect. The first chapter really hooked me and made me want to buy this book. I have told so many people about it and to read it. "You might not have been my first love but you were the love that made all the other loves irrelevant". This quote in this book really hit me because it relates to my life and how I love my boyfriend but he wasn't my first love. I really really love this book. 10/10 recommendations

Let me just start out with, I hate reading. But my boyfriend told me to take a look at this book the other day, and I got so hooked on it I finished in a few hours! I haven't read a book I wasn't forced to read in 6 years and I would recommend this book to anyone, especially someone going through or who has been through struggles in relationships.

Every young woman should have this book. Or anyone who has gone through a breakup or is trying to find themselves. There's a lil something for everybody. Beautifully written. Kaur shows emotion in the rawest most pure form. These poems really spoke to me and made me realize so many things. One of my all time favs for sure. I would love to read more from her. 💓💓

to try to explain the difference between physical pain and emotional would be easy. physical pain effects many people, but emotional pain effects everyone. I bought this book, because I have been burdened heavily with this emotional pain that I could not handle. as I read through each chapter, I saw how much I had in common with this story. towards the end I started to realize how effective it was to know that I wasn't the only one feeling this way. things are looking up for a change and I think I like it. i recommend this book for any girl going through a bad break up, or if you just need to relate to another girl or feel something again. it seriously has changed my perspective on things.

The book being such a quick read , I believe, gives it a greater purpose . If you are already going though a tough situation . A read of this book fills you with so much hope for a better day to come .
